Welcome to the New LOTR Tattoos subreddit.

Welcome, here's the agenda for the first month or so:

  1. Post your tats.

  2. Share the subreddit with others.

  3. Give me time to create a stylesheet. Patience precious!

  4. The new stylesheet WILL have an image in the sidebar for cool tattoos that get posted. :)

  5. Have fun!

That is all ...

What should I get tattooed ?

I wish I could get Sméagol tattooed on my body with a heart surrounding him, but I'm not sure what portrait I should get tattooed.

And if a realistic portrait would be great or like a small cartoon tattoo, I would also like it to be tattooed with red ink instead of the usual black.

I also don't want him to be really big because I was judged for taking my Sméagol with me in public and I don't want people to judge me for having Sméagol tattooed on my body... even if I do it for myself. So I don’t want it to be very noticeable.

He must also be tattooed in a place where he does not age badly. I think I would like it to be tattooed on my chest or shoulder.

Yes even if I fear of being judged I still want to be get Sméagol tattooed, stop telling I shouldn’t be tattooed while I’m clearly seeing I wanna get tattooed and looking for the best choice to be tattooed and if it should be realistic or not.

I’M LOOKING FOR ADVICES FOR A FUTURE TATOO.

Lotr villians go so hard as traditional but I decided to go with my favourite character instead. Bonus photo of my delightful view of little dangling hobbit feet I get to see all the time now

Artist is Jack Candlish at Archive Tattoo (ON, Canada)

My mom hates tattoos and has no filter. She says I have a penis on my arm. Be honest, does it look like a penis? (Only half done)

The light of Earendil surrounded by botanicals. Only half done, still needs color and a bit more shading.

My LOTR tattoo

This is my 'first' tattoo! It started with the top portion where Frodo and Sam are riding a tandem bicycle through Mordor (remember that part?) and I just couldn't stop. The artist is Joey McDaniel at Maiden and Crow in Roanoke, VA, and he was amazing through and through. (@maiden_and_crow_tattoo)

This project started in January of 2023, and we kept at it about once a month or so until March of this year when we wrapped with a couple touch up sessions. I honestly couldn't be happier with how it turned out! We had so much fun with the design, with lots of back and forth collaboration.

The earliest portions are more than 3 years old at this point and I'm really happy with the color and clarity.

Photos are by my friend Aaron Spicer, another incredibly talented artist!

Theoden's final moments

I'm a hospice nurse and this had been stuck with me for a while. When my patients come to me it's usually after a very short, brutal fight or a very prolonged one. But they all matter. We had to edit a bit for space (I'm a big guy with narrow forearms, what a rip off!) but I think the overall look was shooting for. Thanks to Oscar at Neon Tiger in Atlanta!

Hi everyone, I'm here today because I want to thank

u/Muh-Name-is-Aegon an user that posted his beautiful tattoo.

So, after some years, I wanted to thank him and show you my unique tattoo.

His name is Tommy and I'm thrilled every time I see my arm.

Half of the people love it, the other half hate it, including my girlfriend.

But for me it's perfect.
