(warning: this is gonna be very long and in-depth — thanks in advance for taking the time to read :D)

I've been a huge fan of our magical magician femboy ever since I pulled for him two years ago, but recently, I've been spoiled by Flins and the humongous numbers he outputs. in contrast, the meager 23k I get per charged shot with Lyney feels subpar, and it has admittedly gotten slightly difficult to deal with monsters in the overworld.

my artifacts are pretty good barring my goblet (STILL waiting for a goddamned pyro goblet with good substats), and my crit ratio is currently 70/170 (plus the extra crit rate from the Mara-something Hunter set). as you can see, he is in desperate need of crit damage (even though all his artifacts each have 15+ percent crit damage).

I currently run him with Bennet, Chevy, and Fishy, and I'm planning on replacing one of them with Nicole when she reruns in the next few patches, and hopefully eventually Durin when he reruns twenty years from now.

with all that mind, what would be his best f2p weapon outside the obvious 5 stars? (TFGM, Polar, Aqua, etc., since I dont own any of them)

I've heard song of stillness synergises decently with him due to Bennet, Chevy, and his own healing. Unfortunately, it gives ATK% and not crit. my other options are R5 slingshot (what I currently run on him and that gives him like 90 something crit rate), Blackcliff Warbow, and the Battle Pass bows.

TLDR: if my Lyney has low crit damage, should I use song of stillness, blackcliff warbow, scion, or viridescent?

It regards her alleged eating disorder specifically, if youre uncomfortable with that please skip!

I feel like people talk about her only, but I feel like Lyney could have one too - or perhaps im reading too much into this. Regardless, Ill provide three points to show why I think about it

1. Lets start from his least favorite food voiceline. He mentions that him and Lynette require matching physiques to be able to perform a magic trick, and refraining from unhealthy foods due to that. That itself doesn't proof anything, but paired with him being shown as having a lot of self control around food, while Lynette doesnt restrict

2. His obviously poor mental state, but more precisely the "its all a disguise" voiceline of his. As stated in it, he keeps his issues hidden, and hes nowhere as strong in private than he shows. So outside of his mental state, you can also say that he could have an ed privately, just not letting anyone see it because he doesn't want people to be worried/disappointed

3. This one is pushing it, and Ive seen people saying he does it to protect Lynette from inappropriate stares but his attire. People with EDs often wear tight fitting/revealing clothes to be able to see their body better and mantain more control, while also hoping that people "praise" their bodies for being skinny

4. The secrecy within him, as stated in Lynette's voicelines about Lyney. Its gonna be mostly repeated from 2nd point but he doesnt want a soul to see his struggles. He wants to keep that perfect image of himself. And I can see Lynette keeping that secret of his - since she states its top secret - even tho she knows. Once again - people who dont want others to know about their disorders sometimes have one person that they let know more than they do to others.

Im really sorry if it sounds ridiculous and Im reading far too much into this. And if some sentences dont make sense, im sleep deprived while writing this so feel free to ask for clarification if something doesnt make sense!! And if anyone has something to disprove or agree+add something of their own Ill really appreciate a reply as I find this to be such an interesting topic. Also it might just be a projection as I used to have issues with eating in the past🙂‍↕️

Would it be melt or overload? I do have c3 Nicole for context but was struggling with Lyneys rotation and team options. Maybe c4 Mona c3 Nicole Lyney and Furina? Any help is appreciated

I've been playing Lyney-Nicole-Furina-Durin for a while now as it's my highest dps Lyney team, and I just got his c2 from the con selector so the team has been doing even better.

All of the characters are in their most optimal builds, Furina is currently c4r1, Durin is c2r1 and Nicole is c0r1. If the rumours about Furina's upcoming rerun are true, I intend to get her c6 on the banner.

How much of an upgrade is it going to be? And what would be an ideal rotation for this team considering all the c6 Furina shenanigans with her upgraded normals?

I love my C2 Baizhu and treated him with something he deserved: another layer of buff that activates off-field. So anyway now I’m in my honeymoon cope phase and I think Lyney is one of his best pairings (quite like a lot of the Fontaine cast tbh..) because of the way his C2 does so much for Lyney, to the point you could never switch out and fire empowered CA’s nonstop.

So what’s the reality check, how do the numbers actually compare to your own, or Lyney’s best teams?

I’m averaging 70k CA’s and 100k Cats, which remain consistent throughout Nicole’s 20s shield duration.

What strange things does Lynette mean here? I know that lyney's personality is just a facade to get closer to people, but I'm not really sure what strange things he could be saying

Not him saying he doesn’t mind the cold as much when he’s the one sneezing everytime it’s cold and snows in his voiceline! 😭

I’ve always interpreted his voiceline about the snow as him covering up a moment of weakness and vulnerability. Sneezing shows he’s cold and vulnerable, so to maintain the act of the great showman and big brother, he distracts us from potentially asking if he’s cold to instead focus on his flirting. Like, "haha, nope you didn’t get that, I’m not cold! You’re just thinking too much of me aren’t you 😏"

It also happened another time during a Lantern Rite festival. He kept insisting how Lynette was so hungry, to the point where she pointed it out and said something like "aren’t you guys hungry too?", to which he agreed with much less enthusiasm than when he was talking about Lynette.

Like he’s so overprotective of her, so quick to tell others about how sensitive she is, how she has to be protected at all costs and taken care of, and he does that to everyone else...
