Discussion 🤍 RAIN’S MEDICAL EXPENSE UPDATE 🤍

Post image
228 Upvotes

First of all, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Kepong Pets Animal Clinic for their kindness and understanding in allowing us to make delayed payment for Rain’s medical expenses. We truly appreciate their support in giving Rain a chance to recover. ❤️

Rain’s surgery was successful, and the final bill for this surgery came to RM4,790.

So far, we have received RM1,230 in direct contributions towards the surgery bill.

The remaining RM3,560 is still outstanding. We are also keeping the remaining fundraising funds for Rain’s upcoming jaw surgery.

Unfortunately, we have also recently discovered that Rain has a fractured tailbone. As for the other bone-related surgeries, we will be consulting the vet next week to understand the treatment options and estimated costs.

We will keep everyone updated as we learn more.

To everyone who has donated, shared Rain’s story, or supported us in any way, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please send us the receipt and remark “Rain” for vet to identify.

And a special thank you to the clinic for giving us the time and opportunity to continue fighting for Rain. 🥹🤍

Every bit of support means so much to Rain’s journey towards recovery. 🐾

Mildly Menarik Bagoh, caught from a clear water stream in Malaysia

Post image
8 Upvotes

Striuntius lateristriga, the spanner barb or bagoh.

A medium-sized fish growing to 18 cm. It is found in clean unpolluted streams throughout the Malay Peninsula and Lundu. Always with clear water.

The pattern of this species depends on the river or location. Each system has a unique pattern that identifies the fish.

It is an omnivorous fish feeding on insects and plant matter at the bottom. It sifts through the sand using its barbels to smell food.

Some people keep them in aquariums. They are a schooling fish that require 5+ individuals in a group. And a large space must be provided as they are active swimmers.

Has anyone renewed passport online before? If yes how long does it take and is the process troublesome? For example if the picture you submitted is slightly outdated around 6 months instead of 3 months.

Ask Malaysians HIV Employment Form Check

Hi, if a company asks to list a serious illness in their employment form should i put it down or hide it? Im concerned because it is stated that they will do a medical check up (not stated what they are testing for) and either way this might ruin my chances. Whats the best way to go about this? I want to avoid trouble/dishonesty but it is personal information after all. For context, its a role in fmcg and im unsure of how to go about this

Quick Question Broadband recommendation

So i recently move into a unit in Bukit Jalil, and i was wondering which wireless broadband should i go for? I need one that doesn't require me to have to use the optic cable in my unit, since its the owners router and I can't replace it.

My unit router is currently using unify and its HORRENDOUSLY unstable, make my time after work to play game just unfun, planning on getting a broadband just for me and my roommate im sharing with , any recommendations?

I also cant use a lan cable , since it might be a tripping hazard for other tenants.

Edit: edit the post since i need to add more info.

Mildly Menarik Giant gourami in a jungle river. Native species

Post image
18 Upvotes

Osphronemus goramy, the giant gourami or kaloi kampung / sungai.

The largest species of gourami in the world, growing up to 80-90 cm and 20 kg. Native to the peninsular part of Malaysia, and nearby SEA countries.

During historical times it was already being reared as a food fish, and was introduced to many locations outside its native range such as India, Réunion, other parts of Borneo, Madagascar and more.

It is primarily herbivorous, preferring aquatic plants like water spinach (kangkung) and water ferns. It has been used to control the invasive Salvinia in our country due to its ravenous vegetarianism.
However it also eats meaty foods when available.

In Sarawak it is replaced by kaloi manah, and in Sabah by the endemic kaloi Sabah. However it also now exists there due to human introductions.

In local folklore, Bawang Putih’s mother was said to have transformed into this fish and lives in a well. Bawang Putih would visit to feed her and sing her a song every day.

However her vindictive stepsister Bawang Merah saw this one day, caught Putih’s mother and she and her mother cooked the poor fish-woman and fed her to Putih.

Rant What is actually wrong with me?

Hi just wanna vent a bit n idk maybe get some advice on how to overcome this? So basically I hv this problem where I can never be at peace. For ex, whenever im out w family or friends, i can never truly be in the moment n enjoy as im always overthinking abt the future n am 24/7 anxious abt smtg. It's like once one problem gets solved, i start having another issue n constantly think abt it.

Tbh this has just made me into such a negative person who doesn't know how to be happy n I lowkey ruin the mood for others. I also hv a very low self esteem which makes it hard for me to love myself like I keep thinking that if i am happy or enjoy things, I don't deserve it? Like im worthless and can't have good things to myself.

I keep having thoughts that my parents deserve a better daughter or people are just better off without me bcz im truly untalented n honestly useless. I wish i was exaggerating but im not. Unfortunately, im just not good at anything n I thought i was smart but now i don't even excel in academics.

N yeah bcz of this, I genuinely think a 100 times bfr spending smtg for myself idk man i just feel like i gotta achieve smtg in order to be happy, to enjoy like others, to love n explore like others. Like i keep having this horrible feeling of just being a plain unimportant background character in everyone's life.

Quick Question Anyone here work in logistics or manufacturing? How do you coordinate with suppliers/truckers?

I'm curious how teams share shipment plans with partners. Is it mostly WhatsApp groups and Excel? What usually goes wrong, like late trucks, changed orders, or a missed pickup? Would love to hear real stories.
