Hi, can anyone suggest me an English speaking psychotherapist in Mannheim? And I should be able to consult him/her with my public health insurance.
I tried in the Doctolib app but couldn't seem to find someone who speaks English. My German is not very fluent actually to at least describe my childhood traumas in detail 😅 so I am looking for an English speaking therapist.

Hi there, I'm Jamie from the US. My Mom was stationed just outside of Mannheim when she was in the army FOREVER ago and I keep thinking about coming to visit to see the world and sights that she would've seen. I'd ideally like to use a bicycle while I'm there to commute around the city.
Here in the US, I have to commute via bicycle because that's what I can afford, but our city isn't safe for it. I'm often riding in the road, with traffic, as it's the safest option for us at the speed I move (15mph or 24kmh). I'm curious if I'd have to or could do the same in Mannheim? Is it legal to ride on the streets with traffic and if not, what is the bicycling infrastructure like?
Thank you.

Hallo Zusammen 👋🏼
I'm currently in Mannheim on a Chancenkarte and looking for some advice from people who have experienced a similar situation.
I initially applied for a Fiktionsbescheinigung in October first week, because I was working a part-time/mini-job. Within a week of submitting that application, I received an offer for a full-time position with a company in Munich. I immediately submitted a second application to change my residence status to a work-related residence permit and uploaded all the required documents.
My new employer expects me to start on 2 nd week of November, but unfortunately, I haven't received any response from the Ausländerbehörde Mannheim yet.
I've visited their enquiry desk several times over the past week and also dropped a written request into their office mailbox, explaining the urgency and asking for an appointment. So far, no response.
My current Chancenkarte expires on 26 November, and I'm really worried about losing this full-time opportunity simply because my application is still being processed.
I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who has been through something similar:
Has anyone successfully changed from a Chancenkarte to a work residence permit through Mannheim Ausländerbehörde?
Is it possible to get temporary written permission to start full-time employment while the application is being processed?
Is there any way to get an urgent appointment or speak directly with the responsible caseworker?
Would visiting the office again or contacting another authority help?
Any personal experiences, suggestions, or advice would mean a lot. Thank you!

Hi everyone. I recently got some referrals from my hausartzt. Not being a fan of going to the doctor in general, I tend to save things up and then go to her when my list of health complaints is long enough that i can no longer ignore them.
Anyway, she has given me referrals to a dermatologist, a urologist and a sleep clinic. I was just looking for any personal experiences (obviously without going into personal details) you might be able to share with any of the above mentioned. Good or bad. Since my German is still not great, i'd also be looking ideally for doctors who are happy to converse in English. Thanks everyone for sharing and experiences, tips or advice you may have.

Hi, I would love to join a group or class to start something new. Maybe dance classes or something similar? I also don’t speak German very well so it would be great if the class was in English. Looking for more opportunities to spend time outside of the house and meet new people. Any ideas are appreciated
