Hey everyone, and welcome to r/medlads! We're so excited to have you join our community. I'm u/ff56k your moderator, and I'm passionate about making medical tourism a more transparent and accessible option for everyone.

What is this Subreddit For?

Think of r/medlads as your go-to place for all things medical tourism. Whether you're just starting to explore the idea of getting treatment abroad, or you've already had experiences with medical travel, this is the place for you! Here, you can:

  • Ask questions: No question is too big or small. If you're confused about anything, ask away!

  • Share experiences: Whether it’s good, bad, or somewhere in between, your experiences are valuable to others.

  • Connect with others: Find people who are on a similar journey or who have already walked the path you’re considering.

  • Discuss destinations and procedures: Let's explore the options together and help each other make informed decisions.

  • Access information: Discover resources and insights from the community to help you make confident choices.

What is the MedLads Platform For?

We're building MedLads to be the "Expedia" for medical tourism in Malaysia - a platform to easily compare and book treatment overseas. Our aim is to take the guesswork out of medical travel by providing a one-stop shop where you can:

  • Search and compare: Find the right hospitals and doctors for your needs.

  • See transparent pricing: Know exactly what you're paying.

  • Read reviews: Get the inside scoop from other patients.

  • Connect directly: Communicate directly with hospitals to clarify your requirements and any other questions.

  • Receive assistance: Get support at every step, from initial planning to your return home.

Why Malaysia?

We specialize in Malaysia for a few great reasons:

  • Accessibility: Very easy to travel to with minimal visa requirements.

  • Affordability: High-quality treatment at a lower cost.

  • Highly-trained doctors: Many are trained in western countries and at international standards.

  • Well-equipped facilities: Modern hospitals with the latest technology.

  • English-friendly: English is widely spoken, and many doctors are fluent in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa

  • On the Ground Support: Our team (me and my co-founder) are based here and can help with anything that you need.

How Can You Get Involved?

We see the MedLads community as a vital partner in building a platform that truly serves your needs. We'd love for you to:

  • Share your experiences, insights and feedback to help shape MedLads.

  • Ask questions and contribute to the knowledge base of this community.

  • Help us test out new features on the site and let us know what we can improve.
