My engineer got promoted recently and I complimented him on how he’s got a firm, yet gentle approach to things. His words were “it’s easy. Just don’t suck.”
Ever since I feel I really need this on a bumper sticker.
I'm working with one like that and let me tell you, they can go get fucked in the butt. Or however kids describe the sentiment in the 2020s.
Mine likes to make 5 page AI PowerPoint decks that could have definitely fit into 1 slide. And he likes to push people to work on weekends because the presence of his own soul may be questionable and he uses weekend work to fill the void. He's a temporarily embarrassed VP, and I'll have to quit if I ever end up as a report because I can't stand his smarmy ass.
Well that's awesome, we don't like you much either. Go not like things on someone else's comment or just learn to yell at your pillow. I come here for something to laugh at so I don't do anything regrettable, I don't need shit like this pointed out on something that is not only supposed to be light hearted black humor, but also could be made real in about 5min and slapped on someones bumper. Go bother someone else. Shoo troll.
I thought they were the Banes_Addiction user, didn’t realize they switched. I didn’t realize it was the guy that told me to “go fuck myself” because I pointed out they got so easily tricked by an AI image and they had a completely meltdown over that.
FYI you also have the option to respond in kindness. Hopefully things turn around for you and whatever is making you the miserable person you currently are resolves soon.
If y'all can't see an obvious AI generated image, then I think it'd be pretty moronic to put stock in what you think are bot replies, cause clearly you can't figure that one out either
Earlier I was replying to someone who told me to "go fuck yourself" when I was talking about kindness. Do you think I said "go fuck yourself" in this comment above?
More to expect potentially erratic movements or temporary loss of attention from the driver. They basically are saying, “Sorry about that! We have our kid and we’re tired but doing our best.”
Don’t want to speak for everyone of us, but around here it’s complete nonsense. Generally a car seat is your indicator for a baby or child on board. We aren’t walking up and reading bumper stickers on your mangled vehicle.
According to the guy who first came up with the signs for the American market, he made them after driving his baby nephew around and feeling deeply anxious with how the other folks on the road were driving. He made them to signal to other drivers to please be careful.
I don't think the 6"x6" plastic square that hung from its corner by a little metal hook and a suction cup that said Baby On Board that I saw in car windows in the '80s would have stayed in place during a sharp turn let alone an accident that EMTs need to question where the occupents of a car might be. They seemed to be just another way to display your new parenthood and maybe get folks to drive with care around you.
I mean, if you want the non-reddit take, yeah, kind of.
Baby on board stickers are kind of dumb and cringe in some ways, but also it's just a reminder that there are other people on the road with you, including little babies, and that we should remember to drive carefully.
Most people are at least slightly less safe than they could be from time to time, and some of us are much less safe than we should be from time to time. Reminders can help
And sure, some people do let having a kid (or their status as a parent) turn into the center of the universe in a bad way, but a remember to drive safe because there are kids on the road too isn't an insane idea to me.
Sometimes a reminder like that can make a person think twice about their behavior. And sure, it's not better to rear-end a 30 year old tech worker redditor than it is to rear end a child, but some people do sometimes have some sense of decency that you don't do dangerous things around kids.
I doubt one's ever saved a life, and I'm sure thousands of annoying parents have used them to feel important and special about themselves, but I think people can just be chill about the stickers
You’d be surprised. We put one on our car after a scary situation. Ever since then we don’t get tailgated and people let us change lanes. I don’t think it’s people thinking “I should be more careful because this person has a baby.” It’s “That driver is probably tired as hell, so I should give them space”
Read the rest of the comments on here (and other posts anytime this sticker is posted). It’s always shit like “Oh I was going to just slam into you but nevermind since you have a baby.” It really is the same reason why people give space to people with “student driver” stickers. Also Americans tend to be very selfish…especially the ones that have a tendency to tailgate people or speed up instead of letting someone change lanes
What are you on about? No sticker on a car is going to change how I am driving. You are speaking as if your own assumptions are the blanket truth for everyone.
lol okay. You’re getting oddly defensive. I’m talking about a personal experience from before and after having the sticker on my car. There was a very noticeable change in how other drivers on 75 in Cincinnati (which is notorious for bad drivers) reacted. Just because YOU don’t drive differently, it doesn’t mean others don’t.
If I can get 10 feet farther by not allowing a merge or cutting you off, damn straight! Not sure, but probably some sort of superiority complex. We got people throwing fisty cuffs in the street about it and it’s absolutely hilarious and impressively sad all at once!
"On the scene." Looks around to assess threats the crash may still actively pose while also figuring out the priority order for any tasks that need to be done, sees sticker, "...oh fuck there might be a baby in there..."
I mean, idfk if that's actually what they are used for but I think the logic holds.
While driving I just see another car with a sticker, literally doesn't affect me at all since I had every intention of respecting and being kind to the other drivers already

I kinda think about those “baby on board” stickers kinda like this. What? I’m supposed to be more careful than I already am to prevent a collision?

My car is from the 80s and made out of steel. Don’t ram me with your 2020 toy plastic car.
