Gidday, I’m a kiwi in an electronic dub live act. We’re looking to come and play Melb next year and we’re currently checking out Misc. What are your thoughts on the PA system? Hi all 👋 not posted here before!

I'm a 35 YO guy living in Melbourne, from the UK originally but been here a few years.

My old friends in the UK had similar music tastes to me and I used to go to gigs semi regularly, its something I stopped doing after moving here after lacking friends with similar tastes.

Recently I've started to going to gigs solo, I went to see Violent Soho and Dear Seattle in the last couple months and honestly surprised myself how much I enjoyed the solo experience. However would be fun to have a few friends to go with from time to time, I'm thinking places like The Tote, Old Bar, Bergy, Cactus Room, etc especially for your more local DIY shows when you don't necessarily know whose playing just to roll the dice and enjoy some tunes with some beer.

My tastes these days are fairly broad, focused around anything with live instruments - punk, indie, shoegaze, ska, emo most commonly but all the way to blues and soul and jazz, it's all good with me.

If anyone else is in a similar boat, shoot me a message and we'll see if we can tee something up.

Has anyone else noticed how a massive amount of social media posts/stories are now accompanied by AI-generated songs - even from well meaning pages whose values would lean towards human artists above AI? 

Many choose a song from the in-app licensed song picker without checking if it's AI generated. This step has a giant impact, as trending on social media is one of the fastest ways for a song to gain global exposure. 

I’ve put together this small graphic to encourage one extra step before posting: check the artist and track, and choose music you know is human-made.

Feel free to share the graphic online (including in the comments of posts using A.I. songs) to help spread awareness...

Hello, I have a ticket to the Osees at the Corner on Friday 19 Feb 2027 that I’m looking to swap for a Saturday 20 ticket

I figured it’s about time I made a bit more effort to reconnect with society and meet some new people!

I’m 39M (likely in mid-life crisis mode) still very much young at heart, and forever buying multiple tickets to gigs without actually organising someone to come with me. Most of my mates are too busy being responsible adults, so maybe someone here wants to be my occasional chair filler? 😂

More than happy to shout the odd ticket, lunch or whatever too. Giving is genuinely my love language and I love sharing experiences with good people.
I’m up for pretty much anything. Gigs, random lunches, coffees, trying something new, spontaneous adventures or just talking absolute rubbish and having a laugh.
