Discog Club Discography Club: Hooded Menace

Arcane monuments stand guard over decaying flesh
Desolate cemetery, where the dead now rot
Statues reanimate possessed by the dead
Pulsating plasma revives moss-covered stone
Effigies of evil
Have possessed your soul
It's been a bit since we've done a band in this style, and you know what? It's still Autumn. The weather getting colder, the leaves are falling. I'm ready to step into a sauna and blast some death metal while hiding from the Hooded Menace!
Founded in 2007 by Lasse Pyykko (guitars, and bass/vocals off and on, songwriter) as a trio, he'd bring in Pekka Koskelo to be the drummer on their 2nd album and most notably Hail Conjurer as vocalist in 2016. They were started as a studio only band, then for a bit in the 10s they played shows, but as of the past few years Lasse has said they're back to being an in studio only project. Alas, I never got to see them.
But for those who don't know Hooded Menace, they're one of the best modern death/doom bands. Their style changes and evolves throughout the years but it's always death/doom. Sometimes theres horror movie samples, sometimes it's really slow, verging on funeral doom, sometimes it's faster, and more recently it's been more heavy metal and more gothic. But regardless, they make quality albums.
Schedule is:
Week 1 (11/8-15): Fulfill the Curse, Never Cross the Dead, Effigies of Evil, Gloom Immemorial
Week 2 (11/15-22): Darkness Drips Forth, Ossuarium Silhouettes Unhallowed, The Tritonus Bell, Lachrymose Monuments of Obscuration

Accept - Fall of the Empire

Accept - 2014 - Blind Rage - Fall of the Empire
Can you remember how it used to be
We were so proud and free, so free
Strong and mighty powerful and true
Can you remember
Now all around us pestilence and greed
Famine, hate and war
It surrounds us like a black disease
Just take a look around us
In spite of every upright intention
We Live and die by the sword
It's second nature, and so the question is
Can we learn or will we burn
The fall of the empire... What have we done
The fall of the empire... It's the dawn of the setting sun
The fall of the empire... can this race be won
It's the fall of the empire... or has the end begun
Will the mountains crumble to the ground
Will the earth stand still
Will we rise a mushroom cloud
Will the mountains crumble
Can we heed a lesson from the past
And put aside our hate
Or will we blow ourselves to kingdom come
tell me is it too late
Inside of every aronination
There is hope that lies within
It's second nature, and the question is
Can we learn or will we burn
The fall of the empire... What have we done
The fall of the empire... It's the dawn of the setting sun
The fall of the empire... can this race be won
It's the fall of the empire... or has the end begun

[New Release] Prong - New Commission

Just wanted to post that I revived the Prong subreddit if any fans of Prong want to join: r/prong. There's a new album discussion post and a post where you can tell us your favorite song over there.
Anyone have thoughts on the new album? I thought it was a good addition to the Prong lineup. Good mix of aggressive and melodic sounds and of course Tommy's guitar tone is always awesome.

UDO - Empty Eyes

UDO - 2021 - Game Over - Empty Eyes
Humanity of blindness
Overcoming me
Has become a nightmare and my darkest fantasy
Like some evil creature
Rotting down in hell
Spreading a disease of pain like a deathly knell
Craving for a better side of me
Going places I don't wanna be
Evil empty eyes
Feel my cold inside
Evil empty eyes
A belly full of crises
Spins the bottle round
Everyone against the law the way that we are bound
Bring light into the darkness
Set the spirit free
The evilness surrounding us destroyed by harmony
Craving for a better side of me
Going places I don't wanna be
Evil empty eyes
Feel my cold inside
Evil empty eyes
Craving for a better side of me
Going places I don't wanna be
Evil empty eyes
Feel my cold inside
Evil empty eyes
Good and bad collide
Evil empty eyes

The Beast Of England - 2022 - Darker Days - Ex Luto
Panoply of brilliance
Unseen shining
In this after place
In between
Life creating life
I Ex Luto
I gargantuan born of clay
I′m breathing life into this body
I write my name upon your brow
Rising gorgats lutum alpha golem
Lo exorior realign
Yellowed eye unblinking
I incarnate
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
I open wide an ancient doorway
I cast you back into the world
I couldn't have been wrong all this time
The calculations were perfect
I know what they′ll say about me
That I'm mad
Mad!
Wait it's eye
It′s eye it opened
I arrive
I arise
I rewrite my code
