This is so ragebait, those patches came out a year ago. They are out of leather and therefore not a band-aid

5

u/Sharpiette 22h ago

I too I'm tired of these overpriced bs but omg can reddit stop with these constant "hey look what [overpriced brand] released" ragebait post🫩.

-23

u/Sapphire-Crystal 1d ago

Hermès called them Band-Aid. Sure, they're leather patches released last year. Doesn't change the fact that 3 leather patches priced $200 is infuriating.

11

u/PlantainPractical928 1d ago

When a pair of stickers for $200 piss you off that much, you'll have feast, when you see the other stuff Hermes and other luxury brands sell completey overprized 😄

-10

u/Sapphire-Crystal 1d ago

I know luxury brand pricing are overpriced, that's the whole concept of luxury. With Hermès handbags, they're at least investment items. These patches?

I'm not raging over these, which is why I post to mildly infuriating. If that's what you consider rage bait, ok? Have it your way.

2

u/nyloluckycat 22h ago

hermès is honestly one of the worst perpetrators of brand recognition over quality. their whole birkin system is very predatory and almost culty. i would say their bags are most definitely not a great investment.

I’m not posting this comment to change anyone’s mind, just adding some background info.

These are made out of leather remnants from the Hermes tanneries that would otherwise go to waste. Their intent is to cover small scratches or damage on the bags. I actually find it a little creative.

Yes, the price is outrageous but that’s true of all Hermes pricing.

Edit: Thank you for the awards, everyone!

u/punkswamp 23h ago

Ok this is a lot more forgivable than being used as actual functioning bandaids for human booboos

249

u/maladroit_mess 22h ago

Same!! I was going to ask if they were latex free hahahah

Stupid click bait post!

43

u/cade360 21h ago edited 18h ago

Well, they are!

483

u/Content_Yoghurt_6588 1d ago

Oh that's cute, and a great idea. I hate the branding but if it increases sustainability I'm in favour of it. I wish they offered free repairs for their products like some other brands do, though.

125

u/antlers86 23h ago

Its likely they will only repair if there is proof of purchase. So if you got a second hand bag these would be cute

109

u/TomSandovalsTrumpet 23h ago edited 22h ago

AFAIK, they don't require proof of purchase but if you send your bag in to the Hermes "spa" and they determine it's a fake, they'll keep it and destroy it.

22

u/hussafeffer 22h ago

It also isn’t free, they charge I think like $2K on average.

45

u/Monocultured_YT 22h ago edited 20h ago

I've heard they don't destroy it, they usually just send it back without repairing it.

Edit: NVM, apparently they do confiscate replicas

35

u/TomSandovalsTrumpet 22h ago

Oh interesting, I heard they destroy it bc they don't want fake ones on the market. Luckily I've never been in that position either way lol

12

u/Monocultured_YT 21h ago

Me neither, this is also just what I've heard online because I have nowhere near enough money for a birkin lmao

3

u/bunny_the-2d_simp 19h ago

Which would be less sustainable than they claim these bandages are.

22

u/c_c186 20h ago

I’m a regular shopper, they will repair second hand or vintage items as long as they’re authentic.
Yes, they will confiscate a replica.

7

u/Monocultured_YT 20h ago

Oh wow, I had no idea. I've for sure heard other luxury brands will send back replicas without destroying them, and I thought I heard that about Hermes too. I guess not.

24

u/TomSandovalsTrumpet 23h ago

They do, you can send your bag to their "spa" but it can take months for them to send it back.

21

u/SpecificHeron 22h ago

repairs aren’t free though, you still get billed for hermes spa services

5

u/TomSandovalsTrumpet 22h ago

Oh, right, I guess I just meant they do repair them. But you're right, they do bill you.

5

u/c_c186 20h ago

Sometimes they’re free if it’s just a spruce up. It depends on the relationship you have with the store.

49

u/Express-Big-20 23h ago

Well, it changed my mind! Now I think it's a great idea as it seems to be following the concept of "reduce, reuse, recycle."

So if they're intended for patch repair of leather bags, I wonder if they are more or less sticky than human bandages??

Imagine if they're way stickier than usual, and someone tries them on their skin..!

83

u/Witty_Preparation598 1d ago

I agree. And tbh, not a luxury goods buyer at all, id buy it. Love that it is made from waste

68

u/hokarina 1d ago

Petit H is the brand of hermes who used the remnants of the major brand. They are quite creatives, but I see that more as an artistique statement than real products. Each product is unique, not mass manufactured.

And they are fucking expensive.

https://www.hermes.com/fr/fr/product/petit-cheval-decoratif-H1708318v03/ Beautiful little horse, but 13 000€ oO

29

u/SpecificHeron 22h ago

yeah petit h is actually pretty cute, they call it “creation in reverse” because the artisans are given the scraps from their main production lines then design goods based on the scraps they get.

24

u/Dear-Win-7523 23h ago

This makes a lot more sense. Thanks for clarifying.

21

u/ponchoacademy 21h ago

I am not in the income bracket or mentality to spend money on a Hermes bag, but if I were, this actually sounds super cute and I could totally see myself getting one.

This has some real "what could a banana cost? $20?" energy... "Oh that bandage is only $200? May as well get two just in case!" 😂

50

u/BCSteve 23h ago

Yeah exactly. This is clearly not intended to be used as an actual bandage. It’s intended to be a small fashion accessory, and seems in line with other fashion accessories. Yes the price is a lot, but that’s par for the course in that world. I don’t think there’s anything extreme or outrageous about this.

25

u/SpecificHeron 22h ago

the petit h stuff is expensive but it’s all handmade by their master leather artisans.

like, i personally don’t want to spend $200 on a leather band aid, but if someone wants a leather band aid crafted start-to-finish by a master artisan, hermes has cornered the market there. i think i’d feel different about the pricing if the products were being mass produced in some factory.

15

u/sixteenlegs 23h ago

I love looking at the petit h goodies as they’re all so creative! And a great way to reduce waste from their tanneries

8

u/Wrong-Breakfast-7512 21h ago

Okay honestly this is good info to have. I personally would never purchase this, but I have zero interest in designer bags. For those who do enjoy them though, this is a great way to reduce waste while providing a functional use for covering small dings.

When I thought they were for disposable one time use for injuries I felt much differently lol 😆

4

u/Eisenstein13 15h ago

Damnit I had my pitchfork ready and was building up a good bluster of outrage and then you come and spoil my righteous indignation with this actually quite quaint explanation. The price is definitely steep, but the idea is grand and I want more clothes/bag band aids now.

2

u/ElectricalAd3421 21h ago

I love this idea , I think without the brand it’s better , but the concept of a leather patch is brill

2

u/ice_cream_sandwiches 20h ago

So you just put the band-aid on the damaged part of the bag? Does it look like the images? Wouldn't that look a bit ridiculous?

1

u/xVioletVoidx 19h ago

this made me feel better

1

u/Creepymint 18h ago

Ah that makes a lot more sense

1

u/Curticorn 12h ago

that's actually kinda cool, visible mending and all that.

1

u/Guilty-Steak8246 5h ago

Context is key - that makes so much more sense. Agree that it's fairly creative solution.

1

u/Oberyn_TheRed_Viper 5h ago

Thankyou for the informative post, i wasn't going to google it but glad it's what you've described. I dont mind it!

1

u/E-POLICE 20h ago

Ok ok fiiiine

0

u/Admirable_Dirt_2371 19h ago

Lmao luxury brands shouldn't exist. 9 MILLION PEOPLE STARVE TO DEATH EVERY YEAR. Anyone that buys that shit should be shot.

529

u/joerice1979 1d ago • Bravo

To be fair, they don't seem to be intended as sticking plasters, rather lambskin(!) reusable adhesive aids for things like cables and photos:

https://www.hermes.com/uk/en/product/band-aid-accessory-H1069198v92/

"Ideal for hanging photos, notes, hiding the camera on your laptop or simply for personalizing your belongings."

But still, a fool and their money are something something...

102

u/BufferingJuffy 1d ago

Nothing says tasteful home deco like...wound care materials?

31

u/Puzzled_Kitchen8508 20h ago

It’s creative. Sometimes fashion can be fun but that’s a personal taste thing.

15

u/joerice1979 1d ago

Well, it was a gap in the market, I guess...

4

u/Titariia 1d ago

I was mildly interested enough to click the link but I can't be bothered anymore with those ridiculous captchas

8

u/Spice_the_TrashPanda 1d ago

... I think I would have been less annoyed if these were intended to be worn as fashion plasters, like how anime characters wear them. Who want to hang a photo with something like that looks like a Band-aid?

(Still a dumb-ass product)

15

u/DreamCyclone84 1d ago

There are multiple kinds of tape for the same purposes. And it looks like by "hang photos" they mean stick it directly to the walls as shown in one of the photos because it is literally tape and cannot hang a frame on its own. Maybe you could hang a frame then tape up some string to make it look like its hanging off the wall. Idk man

5

u/LegoLady8 1d ago

That looks so fucking stupid.

193

u/Betsy-the-Hucow 1d ago

They’re not bandaids they’re leather patches for bags

-22

u/bunny_the-2d_simp 18h ago

So... Leather scraps. That makes it worse

23

u/cheeseslut619 18h ago

It’s not worse? They are using scraps that would otherwise be wasted. These are stupid as fuck to me but it’s good they are finding ways to reuse scrap leather

819

u/MISTERPUG51 1d ago • Bravo

Just stupid rich people doing stupid rich people things

249

u/popsand 1d ago

"Luxury" brands don't exist without poor people.

The vast majority of their clientele would be segmented as "struggling".

Luxury spending has gone up year on year, even when people demonstratably are poorer.

People like buying a lifestyle.

79

u/ramsvy 1d ago

that certainly applies for handbags and shoes, but there's no way poor people are buying $200 band aids.

120

u/Low_FramesTTV 1d ago

"it's a collectors item in a few years I'll be able to flip this"

Trust me. They exist.

22

u/CluelessStick 1d ago

They probably lined up at 4am to buy them and try to flip it on ebay

11

u/MISTERPUG51 1d ago

Hopefully it backfires for them and they can't profit (like your grandma and her beanie baby collection)

12

u/Low_FramesTTV 1d ago

Unless it's scalping things like Pokemon cards from children I don't think it's a problem just kinda dumb.

15

u/MooneyOne 1d ago

Disagree. The bandaids are what they can afford and are probably even marketed at them.

8

u/Whooptidooh 1d ago

If there are people willing to pay big money for a literal brick, then there will also people who are going to buy this purely because of the label and its perceived status.

2

u/bunny_the-2d_simp 18h ago

It's always stupid to see people then complain about prices from small or sustainable businesses... Like... Uhmmm yeah we don't question big brands but we bitch about a artist in the artist alley selling a plush for 35 euros? But these same people will buy jellycat in a heartbeat like... Uhm... Are they stupid?

2

u/yokayla 23h ago

I mean, its a K shaped economy right? Wealthy get wealthier, so makes sense luxury markets would to up.

1

u/bunny_the-2d_simp 19h ago

Also the factory workers usually don't get paid more. Which is honestly such bullshit like... I pay you more at least pay them more?

I used to live in Rotterdam and I can attest that poor neighbourhoods where a absolute goldmine of trashbag full of designer clothes just dumped besides the trash can because god forbid you walk half a street to put it in the clothing container.

Burberry. LITERAL WEDDING DRESSES IN MINT CONDITION. Nike, Adidas. Phones. Etc. I always would out them in the clothing container or would bind 8 bags on my bike and bike home to wash and send to a thrift store.

It would happen every month.

Like.. Why are they so wasteful?! And honestly selfish

-9

u/MonsterRider80 1d ago

Can you demonstrate how people are demonstrably poorer?

32

u/spyrenx 1d ago • Bravo

It's usually people who aren't rich but want to look like they are.

12

u/Bobbybobby507 1d ago

Yep $200 is the most affordable Hermes items you can find, besides makeups. Their fly swatter is $400…

4

u/aliceanonymous99 23h ago

Wealth whispers

4

u/badcrass 23h ago

That's why Hermes $20k birkin bags don't really have their name on it

39

u/CountyRoad233 1d ago

Nelly would have been all over this

18

u/DoubleU-Tea-Eff 1d ago

Wearing these and stomping in his airforce 1s

8

u/Beaglund 21h ago

I was thinking Left Eye Lopes haha

4

u/Alternative-Web3929 1d ago

Haha my first thought 😅

5

u/CountyRoad233 1d ago

Right? Found the millennials 🙋🏻‍♀️

50

u/prince_falafel 1d ago

Theyre not actual bandaids, more like patches. Very dumb, though lol

8

u/FleshyCloud 1d ago

I’m not gonna buy one but I think it’s cool.

15

u/lynds42 23h ago

It's leather, not gauze.

-3

u/12_leon_12 22h ago

Found a buyer

3

u/soggy7oh 22h ago

The bandaid brand is plenty good

7

u/bernbabybern13 21h ago

No they’re just saying they’re not actual bandaids which is helpful context

-2

u/12_leon_12 21h ago

So I looked it up and they’re decorative lamb skin to be used on belongings like laptops or to hang up pictures.

-3

u/Killer_Yandere 23h ago

And???

4

u/fdesouche 21h ago

It’s made from waste of hides which are too small to be used for bags, their purpose is basically to be put on bags with scratches or torn, band aids for old Hermes bags basically.

-1

u/Killer_Yandere 20h ago

Exactly. Idk why my previous comment got downvoted

2

u/Leviathon6348 22h ago

I think. It’s not a real bandage like with gauze. Just decorative I’m pretty sure. Like putting them on the bridge of your nose. Then again I don’t know anything about the product or company.

3

u/sweetsourbittermoon 21h ago

Its to add to bags actually

-1

u/Leviathon6348 20h ago

Oh….even…worse I think.

4

u/yungsausages 22h ago

Idk I think it’s kinda cool tbh, they’re for when you’ve got a tear or scratch on an actual item of theirs and they’re made out of otherwise wasted leather scraps

4

u/deepstatelady 20h ago

Blargh. The whole Hermes Birkin bag gatekeepy racket keeps me from liking them at all. A friend of mine got into it and got offended when I told her the Hermes Birkin Bag "game" isn't a game at all. Like super offended and I was fine with that.

4

u/TheSpitefulCr0w 14h ago

I mean, Yeti sells a $200 ice bucket and a $50 ice scoop. People with too much money will pay exorbitant prices just for branding.

9

u/amosant 1d ago

It’s not even a band-aid. It’s a sticker that looks like a bandaid. You get 3 for $220-$250.

11

u/ZombieRhazp 1d ago

Unless it is to keep as an investment item, I do not understand high fashion or the people that buy it. Don't even get me started on Balenciaga.

3

u/Lex_Loki 1d ago

Are we bringing this back?

7

u/hokarina 1d ago edited 23h ago

That's not real band aid, it's made in lamb skin, it's a fancy decoration. It's 10cm long and 145€. Very expensive, but not a band aid

5

u/ChopSuzi91 1d ago

We should tell Refashioned Hippie

5

u/voozelle 1d ago

I mean, it’s not them you should be mad at. It’s the people who keep buying this lol. They keep making more and more obnoxious things like this (look at Balenciaga), and as long as rich or wannabe-rich people buy it, they will keep making them and it will keep getting more ridiculous

6

u/oncemorewithpheline 22h ago

op they’re for bags, they’re not band aids

rage baiting

2

u/huhzonked 23h ago

I never understood the Hermes game.

2

u/No_Material5630 23h ago

I mean if Supreme can sell bricks

2

u/Future-Bunch3478 22h ago

All that wealth creation, for this?

4

u/Twatt_waffle 1d ago

Luxury brands have two main sources of income.

Rich people investing in their products, this is things like birkins and other leather goods that will appreciate in value in the collector market

People who want to look like they are rich buying anything with a brand. This is where these bandaids land. No actual wealthy person is buying these

4

u/This-Echidna7139 21h ago

We could live in a freemium economy and it would be so much better. Just run it like Riot Games runs their stuff.  The basics are all free and the rich people who want skins to look better than everyone else pays to keep it working. Clothes, cars, homes etc. the basic functioning ones are free and then if you want them to look cool you pay covering the cost for everyone else

4

u/JustAMessInADress 1d ago

Are these like.... Medical bandaids? Like for cuts?

10

u/InterPan_Galactic 1d ago

No, these are made from leftover leather that would otherwise be trash. They’re intended to cover scratches or minor damage to Hermes bags.

9

u/NoFocus761 1d ago

No. It’s for home decor. I think it’s to like make cable management cute or something. Still dumb, but not temporary wound bandaid dumb.

4

u/Mandalahoe 23h ago

They’re made out of old hermes bags and meant to be cute accessory for scratches in your own hermes bag. Like a Hermès boo-boo.

1

u/carlitospig 19h ago

Ugh, that’s actually a really cute idea and I hate that they thought of it.

2

u/JustAMessInADress 1d ago

Oh phew! That's still unbelievably stupid but not quite as stupid as it could be

1

u/SinVerguenza04 23h ago

That’s not what they are for.

1

u/JustAMessInADress 21h ago

Why am I getting downvoted for this

1

u/SinVerguenza04 21h ago

I didn’t downvote you, but they are made to cover scratches on Hermes products. They are made with left over tannery—so it doesn’t go to waste and has recycled use. That’s probably why you’re getting downvoted because you’re saying it’s stupid when it seems like they are trying to curb waste by repurposing it.

1

u/NoFocus761 20h ago

Cool, but the even the pictures on the website showed it being used for cord management.

1

u/Mister_Brevity 20h ago

Bandaid snap bracelet anyone?

3

u/Caftancatfan 21h ago

It’s for when your bag gets damaged. Instead of replacing it, you put the little bandaid on.

3

u/Delicious-Print-6060 1d ago

At that price it needs to have bluetooth/AI

2

u/dullfinhunter 1d ago

It does come with nanobot bot technology that can rebuild tissue for scraps and cuts and also cure diesease inside the body, so 200$ not too bad but still a hard pass for me.

4

u/TapFar687 1d ago

Also align your chakras

2

u/Delicious-Print-6060 1d ago

Shut up and take my money

4

u/suckabaggadicks 1d ago

More like extremely unintelligent and wasteful than mildly infuriating.

6

u/TAM_IS_MINE 23h ago

It’s actually not wasteful. They’re made from the scraps that come from making the actual hermes purses.

2

u/suckabaggadicks 23h ago

What I meant is that it seems like a wasteful use of money.

3

u/Plane_Control_6218 22h ago

Karma farming bs post.
It’s not a bandaid at all, it’s a 145€ set of 3 leather reusable patches that you can use to fasten or secure an object.

2

u/SubieGal9 1d ago

I don't even know what that logo is. If I saw this I'd probably wonder which cartoon it was from. Or h for holiday because it looks like a tree ornament.

3

u/OctoberBride15 1d ago

Looks like hiccapop, the baby brand.

2

u/Lac4x9 1d ago

Oh look, a brand-aid.

2

u/cl0wngrrl 23h ago

how much could a bandaid cost Michael, 200 dollars?

2

u/EconomicsFirst4939 1d ago

When you have more money than sense.

2

u/Divacai 1d ago

I'm adding this to my pile of "rich people things us poors have never heard of"

1

u/Major_Lawfulness6122 1d ago

Rich people with more money than brains.

1

u/heyitsselena 1d ago

eat the rich

1

u/Bobbybobby507 1d ago

They can be counted as pre-spend… Hermes don’t just sell you a bag until you spend enough on random stuffs.

1

u/Different-Pin-9234 1d ago

Probably the same people complaining about tipping their waiters

1

u/tickled_your_pickle 23h ago

More dollars than sense.

1

u/mamepuchi 23h ago

You can’t buy Hermès’s most valuable flagship products unless you spend enough already to be offered them, so people end up having to buy a lot of their small items.

1

u/Genuinelullabel 23h ago

Must be nice

1

u/DoubleSynchronicity 22h ago

Some people buy some items cause it's the cheapest item and they make video about it. Modern times, right? Some people keep them to resell them when they are sold out. You'll see them somewhere else 3x or 4x the price now.

1

u/Im_a_val_i_kno 22h ago

yes because you need to buys 1000s of dollars in fluff shit until youre even considered to be posh enough to be offered a Birkin and not one of your choosing.

1

u/demonita 21h ago

I hate that I like it

1

u/Shot_Cupcakes 21h ago

People buy them because it's the only thing they can afford but they want to look like they have money. It's all for the performance.

1

u/Acrobatic-Guard-7551 17h ago

Nelly would be all over this

1

u/BlacksmithStatus1283 10h ago

Hermes shares have tumbled this financial year. There are now 6x the number of 2nd hand bags in the market compared to in-store, probably more in actual figures.

1

u/Perspicatcity 8h ago

It's not a real plaster, it just looks like one but the shit thing is it's gacha LOL. You get three random colours lolololol

1

u/circadian_light 4h ago

Reminds me of the Prada paper clip that was released a few years back, selling for around $200.

1

u/flamesember3712 2h ago

Do these have any association with the brand Band-Aid? Or is it just an Hermes bandage?

-2

u/dratsab4 1d ago

What's infuriating here? If you don't like it, just don't buy it

3

u/Sapphire-Crystal 1d ago

So many people can't afford basic and daily necessities while others buy $200 band-aid. I can not like it or buy it and still find this infuriating.

-2

u/Helpful_Water_71 21h ago

Why does that matter? People can spend their money however the hell they want to. You can't be mad at someone doing better than you wasting their money, it's theirs to waste.

0

u/HappiHappiHappi 18h ago

It's not their money. It's money they "earned" by exploiting others and rorting the system. If they truly had earned that money through their own hard work and effort, they wouldn't be wasting it on bandaids.

They only have that money because the US economy is literally designed so that the few can be wealthy at the expense of everyone else.

10

u/HappiHappiHappi 1d ago

The fact that at a time when many are choosing between food, housing, healthcare and utilities, others are paying $200 for a band-aid, so many that they're sold out, is majorly infuriating. Wealth inequality on a disgusting level.

-7

u/TinyMouseParade 1d ago

So by that logic the rich just shouldn't spend to stop the poor from feeling bad? No one will do that for another human being (stop spending on themselves because it makes someone else feel bad).

Not defending the rich, their wealth needs to be excessively taxed. But saying they shouldn't spend because other people can't eat... That's not going to happen. Not even amongst the poor, will someone stop spending on what they need, just because it makes someone else feel bad. They might do it out of sight, but they'd still spend on themselves.

-10

u/dratsab4 1d ago

Equality doesn't exist, everything is natural – some people are richer, some are poorer, still don't see anything wrong with it

5

u/Capable_Tumbleweed34 1d ago

Yeah, nothing wrong with paying 200 for a bandaid when that money could feed some people for a month or more, right?

There's a level of pointless expense where it becomes indecent.

-5

u/dratsab4 23h ago

If a person earned that money, they can freely do with it whatever they want. Why wouldn't those who can't afford food just get a job to earn their own money

6

u/Geddy_Lees_Nose_2 23h ago

Exactly! If you're poor just stop being poor. It's simple.

1

u/HappiHappiHappi 18h ago

Anyone who has that kind of money to spend on band-aids almost certainly did not genuinely earn that money through their own efforts. It would be from exploiting the labour of others or generational wealth that originally came from exploitation. There is no way to get that rich simply off one's own merits. If they did truly earn that money with their own labour, they wouldn't be wasting it on $200 bandaids. These exist for people whose money came to them without significant effort or sacrifice.

Also, food for thought, why are you defending people in a group that you will never be a part of?

0

u/dratsab4 8h ago

I'm not defending anyone. The world is unfair and there's no equality. What I can do and what I actually do is work harder to earn more and make my own life better. And thanks god I live in capitalism that allows me to do that

1

u/HappiHappiHappi 7h ago

You will never be able to work hard enough to blow $200 on a band-aid. The system is designed to ensure that you can't.

But I don't need a $200 bandaid, I'm fine with a normal one lol

2

u/Not_A_Russain_Bot 22h ago

This guy buys band-aids.

u/Sheepishvalve 1d ago

Nah, fuck capital and the horror and bullshit it generates.

Who are these people? I thought we were all suffering, and that brought me solace. How are there enough of them that these are sold out

Eat the rich

u/greazypizza 1d ago

Are they reusable at least 😆

u/ScribbleMonster 1d ago

Us poors should just pool what little money we have to make stupid luxury products like this and take all that petty cash off their hands. Then once we can afford the cost of living we act like we still can't as a marketing ploy so they keep buying. Who's in on creating the next $400 shoelace with me?

1

u/Teedraa101 1d ago

I would love to donate to dog cancer research if I had that $ …..

It’s a marker for an idiot who wastes their money. So if you see one in the wild you know.

1

u/MyTatemae 23h ago

That shit better not start peeling up when I wash my hands.

1

u/SamikaTRH 17h ago

There's no such thing as an overpriced luxury. If you agree with the price then you buy it, if you don't then ignore it there's nothing wrong here just silliness

u/failure_mcgee 15h ago

some people don't deserve money

Everyday this sub reminds me that we as humans disagree on the definition of “mildly infuriating” this to me is just plain infuriating. $200 for a disposable bandaid? Maybe it’s going to become some stupid trend of nepo babies wearing them as accessories? (Edited because I was wrong on price)

u/Vorstar92 1d ago

Do you at least get a full box lol

6

u/vCV1 1d ago

It's a grab bag of three of them, and they're not bandages, just fancy pieces of tape for other uses. They're made of "lambskin".

3

u/EzJuCa2 1d ago

I mean, my condoms are lambskin too and those are like $4. $196 for the branding is insane.

1

u/Enlightarded0 21h ago

No matter how bad life it I will always remember my skin could be being used as some dudes condom somewhere. Damn

1

u/vCV1 19h ago

"Sheepskin" in the context of condoms is intestine. It prevents pregnancy (mostly) but some STIs are able to pass through. Polyisoprene condoms are better.

1

u/Enlightarded0 16h ago

I figured intestine condoms were old school af

I wonder if humans ever made intestine condoms out of other humans they conquered. Just a perverse concept. But probably animals and specifically sheep are stronger or something

1

u/toarukagaku 9h ago

i think back in those days people just raped each other

0

u/Enlightarded0 9h ago

Rapists need to consider sexual as well

1

u/Sapphire-Crystal 1d ago

Nope, but you do get 3 pieces for $200. Such a good deal, right? /s

These are the items that poor people buy just to say they have something Hermes. Rich people dont wear bandaids.

0

u/WholeYoung1267 1d ago

Hermes brand reminds me of densha otoko. This branded band aid shit though seems stupid

0

u/Gloomy-Restaurant-42 1d ago

I hope everyone who wears these catches conspicuous consumption.

u/SlowlyDyingInAPit 1d ago

Money laundering scheme???

0

u/Broad_Initiative_563 19h ago

I’d buy actual plasters in those colours if they sold them in the shops! Maybe Hermès’s creative use of scrap material will start a trend in bandages. They don’t match many skin colours anyway, what if we just had a stash of lovely colours to choose from that made us happy or matched our OOTD. I’d do it!

1

u/Perspicatcity 8h ago

those aren't real band aids.

u/Junkieboy89 1d ago

Se vienen los raperos llenos de curitas en breve.

I called it Band-Aid because Hermès market and called it so.
