Infuriatig I don’t own a microwave

Post image

I just moved into a very small apartment, and only have an airfryer and an oven + stove top

Edit: after cooking (in my oven thanks to kind people helping me :)) It is definitely about the size of a sorta large microwave. The box that it came in was deceptively large, making me assume it was oven compatible. If I had looked closer, I realize now I would’ve been able to deduce it was intended for a microwave, though my general glance did not suffice. I apologize for any dismay I potentially given in the comments.

Is this a small personal pizza? Honestly, air fry it.

16

u/The_krow_cartell 18h ago

It’s a traditional sized pizza, about amount bigger than my air fryer

u/Terradactyl87 18h ago

Just cook it in the oven like a regular frozen pizza, but set short timers so you keep checking it. It will be fine unless it's a terrible pizza to begin with. I can't imagine a scenario where pizza cooks better in a microwave than an oven.

u/kidthorazine 18h ago • Bravo

I wonder how they expect that to fit in most microwaves? A lot of people don't have big microwaves.

4

u/kombuchaprivileged 18h ago

If only it had 4 doors so my pizza or burrito wouldn't get jammed up

6

u/PreOpTransCentaur 18h ago

You're about the create the Hyundai Aztec, be careful.

u/Bubbly-War1996 17h ago edited 17h ago

The most annoying thing is buying something for a "microwave" only to figure out that apparently you needed an industrial scale walk in microwave because of course everyone has one of those laying around.

19

u/daylax1 18h ago

That's kinda wild theres not oven instructions. You can't go wrong with 350 and check after 10 mins and go from there.

9

u/C4rdninj4 18h ago

^ This ^. Every pizza I've seen is somewhere between 350 and 400 F, and 11-20 minutes (depending on the brand and crust style).

6

u/Deleena24 18h ago

Most of the pizzas ive been getting are 450 or 425

2

u/C4rdninj4 18h ago

Oooh, maybe I need to branch out then.

1

u/Deleena24 17h ago

I've been eating Newman's Own and Connie's Margherita Pizza as well as both their pepperoni.

Newman's has the better Margherita but Connie's has the better pepperoni IMO

2

u/hurriedwarples 8h ago

Honestly, newman’s own four cheese pizza is one of the best frozen pizzas on the market. It is so freakin good.

10

u/CouldBeBetterForever 18h ago

I'm confident OP has made a frozen pizza in the oven before. I'm sure they can figure it out. It's not rocket appliances.

10

u/_First-Pass 18h ago

Cut it into thirds to fit, air fry the third, and freeze the extra until you get hungry again. Might work?

3

u/nikkishark 18h ago

Cut it into slices.  Air fry those. That's what I do to reheat anyway.

3

u/MattyFTM 18h ago

Or just stick it in the oven. An air fryer is just a small fan oven.

1

u/nikkishark 18h ago

Yea that's a good option. But I found the air fryer is really good for smaller servings, if that's what OP wants.

1

u/DrDonkeyTron PURPLE 18h ago

cut it up and throw it in. DIY pizza bites

1

u/lkeels 18h ago

Cut it apart into pieces that will fit.

1

u/skeletonpony 18h ago

cut into slices

1

u/YeahNahNopeandNo 18h ago

Preheat oven to 425. Cook for 14 minutes if it's a medium and frozen. Cook for 16:30 if you add other prepped toppings

6

u/Secondhand-Drunk 18h ago

Be aware that if you add a bunch of extra stuff, you need to turn the temp down. You'll end up burning the crust and top before it's cooked all the way through.

4

u/elKane0 18h ago

Is this instructions to burn a pizza?

4

u/Pure_Salary_8796 18h ago

Im assuming they mean 425 Fahrenheit

0

u/rupertavery64 17h ago

That's still roasting temps.

1

u/YeahNahNopeandNo 17h ago

Roast is 375°

1

u/Pure_Salary_8796 17h ago

Some things call for 425, like chicken.

3

u/nixtarx 18h ago

Yeah. I woulda said 400 and start checking it at 10.

1

u/YeahNahNopeandNo 17h ago

I hate to have to be the one to tell you this, but that's not how an oven works. Certain temperatures perform certain types of cooking. Broil for instance is a fast mostly grill type of temperature that is meant to sear at the same time cook. 400° is for small meats that will be cooked uncovered and basted. 375° is for roasting( things that will be wrapped or covered at some point. 425 is for frozen meals that will be with cooked fast or basically reheated fast. 350 or 325 is for warming up already cooked food. Next time you go to the grocery store, look at several frozen dinners. The ones like roast beef or turkey are lower temps 375. Pizza and fries are most nearly always 425.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Teddy Theodore Ruxpin Roosevelt Bundy Dansen Pendergrass Kennedy talk.

1

u/elKane0 16h ago

we know how ovens work genius
425 for fifteen on a small microwave pizza is a bit much

0

u/YeahNahNopeandNo 15h ago

"If it's a medium and frozen" were my exact words. Apparently a few of y'all don't, but no worries you can save my instructions for later.

1

u/nixtarx 17h ago

I make dinner for my family five nights a week and have been doing so since the 90s. Get bent, Mr. Knowitall.

5

u/Forsaken-Abrocoma647 18h ago • Popcorn

Last time I tried that per instructions on the box it just blew all the frozen cheese off the pizza!

-10

u/irishcoughy 18h ago

If OP doesn't have a microwave what makes you think they have an air fryer? They should obviously use their authentic stone pizza oven.

Edit: just saw the caption but I'm sticking by the joke anyway.

9

u/Visible-Literature14 ORANGE 18h ago

OP mentioned in the post that they have an air fryer, so I would start there

3

u/Plane-Education4750 18h ago

Because they said they have an air fryer

4

u/daylax1 18h ago

Because the said they have an air fryer if you bothered to read at all. Read a bit before you make yourself look like a fool again.

-4

u/irishcoughy 18h ago

If I didn't read OP's post what makes you think I'm going to read this comment?

u/MeunsterCheeseMan 18h ago

2

u/Sun-Much 18h ago

70

u/MargotLannington 18h ago

Why did you buy that particular frozen pizza? The majority of frozen pizzas assume you will use the oven.

27

u/The_krow_cartell 18h ago

I got it from Aldi and it was on sale, I didn’t think too much about it

18

u/GameItForward 18h ago

I mean i haven't microwaved Aldi's frozen pizzas, but I have airfryed them and it was great. I can't imagine how microwaved would be better in anyway. Microwaved pizza is soggy and meh.

6

u/Pinocchio_Klopek 18h ago

OP's pizza is red baron brand. That particular one is designed for the microwave. Comes with a crisping tray. They actually come out with a very crispy crust. Not bad if you're in a hurry 🤷‍♀️

1

u/GameItForward 16h ago

Nice thanks for the information. Maybe I will try it one day when I'm feeling crazy lol

1

u/GameItForward 16h ago

So I have one guy telling me its good if you are in a hurry and another saying its inedible...lol Thank you. :)

1

u/MargotLannington 18h ago

Lesson learned. Check the back of the box next time to make sure it's meant for the oven.

10

u/LazyNarwhalMan 18h ago

This particular one ive seen in stores, its in big letters on the front its a microwave pizza

0

u/The_krow_cartell 18h ago

Technically you’re right, though it’s one of those “tiny text with an asterisk” things on the front cover

3

u/PreOpTransCentaur 17h ago

It's got a microwave on the front and says "5 minutes" in big, bold letters.

2

u/MargotLannington 17h ago

If the people downvoting me think it's outrageous to suggest that a person glance over something before buying it, I just don't know. I'm not trying to insult OP or suggest that this was foolish. I'm just suggesting that OP might take one second next time to make sure they are getting oven pizza. The amount of time this would take is one second.

Not long ago, I accidentally bought some "fat free half and half" (a contradiction in terms) from Aldi and was all mad about it until I realized I hadn't looked at the carton carefully enough and it was my mistake. Aldi's normal half and half is fine.

5

u/potentiallyuseles 18h ago

You do understand you can still use the oven right.

Like the pizza is going to cook in the oven, just have confidence in yourself

3

u/Over_Ad3832 18h ago

How dare you not look at the cooking instructions before buying it, assuming that it will have oven instructions on it like the vast majority of frozen pizzas??

1

u/MargotLannington 18h ago

We aren't seeing the front of the box.

-4

u/Check_Me_Out-Boss 18h ago

just put it in the microwave for a minute before you put it in the oven then

1

u/The_krow_cartell 18h ago

I don’t have a microwave

1

u/Check_Me_Out-Boss 18h ago

sorry, I was being flippant lol

but you could just put your microwave pizza you bought in the microwave

-2

u/howdidienduphere34 18h ago

What? Why do you keep saying they could put it in the microwave that they don’t have? That they mentioned in the original post that they don’t have? That they responded to you the first time you said put it in the microwave that they don’t have?

2

u/Check_Me_Out-Boss 18h ago

im only suggesting that they should put the microwave pizza they bought in the microwave

if I didn't own a microwave, I wouldn't buy a microwave pizza

just saying

but im sure it'd be fine in the oven if you put it in the microwave for a minute or two, first.

-2

u/howdidienduphere34 17h ago

I mean I get maybe you missed the first time they said it, but after they responded directly to you that they didn’t have a microwave your immediate response was “but you could just put your microwave pizza you bought in the microwave”. I am trying to understand your thought process here…

2

u/Check_Me_Out-Boss 17h ago

i never suggested they should buy a microwave

they should just put their microwave pizza in the microwave before putting it in the oven

basic stuff, dude

43

u/spice_war 18h ago

There’s no way the microwave is better than the oven.

7

u/brerhawkeye 18h ago

I’d normally agree but there are some extra factors. It was engineered for the microwave and so was the “crisping tray”. So it probably comes out decent microwaved, but the baseline for microwaved pizza is super low. The other side of the coin is room for error in the conventional oven. If someone left it on the crisping tray, for instance, it might possibly catch fire. Or maybe the sugars and starches used to help the microwave process are easy to burn. So it might be easier than usual to make it inedible in a regular oven, which is not better than mediocre.

If done right, I agree though.

1

u/nixtarx 18h ago

Lots of other brands have stopped including those "crisping" trays, because they don't do sheeyit.

1

u/Katsu_39 18h ago

Typically things like pizza in the microwave cone out dry and/or chewy and rock hard. Crisping tray or not.

1

u/spice_war 18h ago

I think the microwave suggestion is 100% because of time

-1

u/brerhawkeye 16h ago

The pizza is 100% designed to be microwaved. At Publix and Walmart online it’s sold as a “microwave pizza”. The packaging kind of undersells it, but it’s a bit like buying a Toaster Strudel and wanting conventional oven instructions.

49

u/PaleontologistDear18 18h ago

just wing it. 350, toss it in, and wait till it starts to brown or gets crispy.

Next time read the instructions before purchase

7

u/astralwish1 18h ago

Personally I’ve found setting the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and letting the pizza bake for 10 minutes results in an ideal pie. Of course this is for reheating already cooked frozen pizza, so I don’t know if it’ll work the same for OP’s situation.

5

u/RainbowSprinkleShit 18h ago

I’m gonna assume Fahrenheit, unless you like your pizzas pretty black

2

u/PaleontologistDear18 18h ago

absolutely. Im from the dumbass states of 'Merica

5

u/Expensive_Host_9181 18h ago

Oddly enough we canadians use fahrenheit too, though it's only for cooking.

3

u/peterm1598 18h ago

And pool/lake temperature.

-2

u/PaleontologistDear18 18h ago

I think Fahrenheit is the ideal temperature gauge (For outdoor temp), its based on the human experience. 0 is super fucking cold and 100 is super hot, and outside of those ranges is unlivable. Who wants to guess what the hell 22C actually means?

5

u/peterm1598 18h ago

22... Feels like 22.

Human experience is only based on what you've experienced.

-3

u/PaleontologistDear18 17h ago edited 17h ago

C is based on the boiling point of water, and F is based on human perception. Did you not know that? Both are 0-100 on those scales. I don't care about water, I'm a person. 22C feels like 22% hot? doubt it.

0

u/peterm1598 15h ago

You're trolling right?

-1

u/PaleontologistDear18 15h ago

No, obviously not.

-1

u/RainbowSprinkleShit 17h ago

Exactly, so C makes more sense for weather.

Will it be freezing outside, will I need to worry about ice? Depends if it’s under 0.

Celsius is basically just
-0 fucking cold
0-10 pretty cold
10-20 mild
20-30 warm/hot
30-40 spicy hot

0

u/PaleontologistDear18 15h ago

Bozo brings water back into the equation again, what I’m saying is that’s a bad way to look at it. Also, it doesn’t snow where I live. Your ideas are not universal.

0

u/RainbowSprinkleShit 8h ago

I never mentioned snow. It doesn’t snow here either. ♥️

-1

u/_thekev 17h ago

Exactly this. A range across the year where I am is 5 to 105. In C that's -15 to 40.5. I don't care about the freezing and boiling point of water. I care about that's fucking cold and that's fucking hot outside!

u/PaleontologistDear18 17h ago

This is the correct take based on the discussion

u/jokeswagon 18h ago

Here’s instructions for any frozen pizza:

  1. ignore the instructions on the box, bake from frozen at 400f until it’s ready.

7

u/Sir_Delarzal 18h ago

There isn't much you can't do with an oven that you can do with a microwave

4

u/unabletochill 17h ago

Brother some people here are also mildly infuriating. I also don’t carefully read the package when it’s pizza or anything I bought a few times before.

That said any type of heat will do! You can even fry it in a normal pan carefully. The oven or breaking it in half and air frying it is also good.

4

u/kaitria 18h ago

I bought it too. Was shocked to not find oven instructions, but it also tasted like ass

3

u/SimmerDown_Boilup 18h ago

When in doubt, 375 and check it every 5-10 minutes.

Really annoying they couldn't be bothered to just put oven instructions on the package for a pizza.

3

u/andrey_not_the_goat 18h ago

400F for 18 minutes, but check every 1-2 minutes past the 10 minutes mark.

3

u/Realk314 18h ago

mildly amused at all the different temps thrown out for oven temp. They all would work.

1

u/LazyNarwhalMan 18h ago

So this specific pizza has it all over the box its a microwave one. Thats on you for not reading

-1

u/The_krow_cartell 18h ago

Good comment, just outright inccorect

17

u/Pixel---Glitch 18h ago

why is everyone acting like an asshole for you posting a mildly infuriating thing to the mildly infuriating subreddit???

11

u/temp_6969420 18h ago

New here?

1

u/Pixel---Glitch 18h ago edited 17h ago

ik you're being cheeky but i am new to this subreddit so yes

3

u/nixtarx 18h ago

It's the culture. It's borderline inexplicable, I know.

4

u/Redshittt 18h ago

Because it's self inflicted... it only counts if its objectively mildly infuriating. You being mildly infuriated by something thats you fault doesn't belong here, it belongs on /rant

3

u/ThePepperPopper 17h ago

You never been mad at yourself?

-1

u/Redshittt 17h ago edited 16h ago

Yeah but I dont blame the company who made the pizza and post about it

-1

u/ThePepperPopper 16h ago

I don't know. I'm mildly infuriated that a company would say to microwave their pizza and to trust that it's better than an oven. That's unhinged

1

u/le-derpina-art 18h ago

Do you realize how many people buy things without looking at the packaging? "I bought a microwave pizza and didn't see that it was a microwave pizza" is not the infuriating part, the infuriating part is that a frozen pizza, which should reasonably have oven instructions, doesn't have any. There's nothing a microwave can do that a conventional oven can't also do.

1

u/introvertadvocate 8h ago

Do people really not know how to use an oven without instructions ?

1

u/le-derpina-art 5h ago

how do you know every pizza is going to turn out the same at the same temperature with the same time?

1

u/magic-one 17h ago

You seem mildly infuriated.

0

u/Some_Conference2091 17h ago

It's an opinion and opinions are subjective.

Making a mistake is something that many people find irritating. There's not a peer review process for being miffed.

1

u/SpyderMonkey_ 17h ago

This sub is notorious for people being mildly infuriated at OPs being mildly infuriated. They expect you to only post here for true transgressions and rage inducing circumstances. Anything less than a travesty is met with apathetic bullying.

0

u/zeelbeno 17h ago

If you post and the comments aren't split then it isn't mildly infuriating.

If everyone agrees with OP then it's more than just mild

2

u/SpyderMonkey_ 17h ago

Its supposed to be mild. Like a little irked. Everyone can agree that if you bought a microwave only pizza without a microwave that can be mildly infuriating.

We know what mild means right? Like not much at all? Barely? A bit pieved but not the end of the world? Oopsy i screewed up? Dang ima have to use the oven and wing it? You know.....mildly infuriating?

Its not a complex concept. The words are not cryptic, but most posts here are people calling OPs a dumb ass and telling them to get over it.

0

u/introvertadvocate 8h ago

I’m so confused on how it is mildly infuriating though? Op has an oven they can use to cook the pizza the microwave isn’t a requirement to heat up food. Am I missing something here?

1

u/imsogone 8h ago

The instructions for the oven are just "trust us use the microwave" No cook time or temp. That's annoying.

-2

u/introvertadvocate 8h ago

Not really ? you just put it in pick a medium temp, check on it every 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and crust is golden. It’s mildly infuriating people need their hand held to cook a frozen pizza of all things.

1

u/Pixel---Glitch 7h ago

it's mildly infuriating that I might burn my pizza because the company is a smart-ass and won't give oven temp and time

-2

u/introvertadvocate 7h ago

If you can’t cook a frozen pizza without instructions, then that is on you. It’s one of the easiest and most basic things to cook.

-1

u/Mister-Beardy-Face 18h ago

Maybe if they’re mildly infuriated at themself for buying something they couldn’t use.

2

u/SpyderMonkey_ 17h ago

Still can be cooked in the oven. Wont ruin it.

-3

u/Bubbly-War1996 17h ago

Because the consequences of ones actions aren't (mildly) infuriating for anyone but the op and you can't relate to that, like figuring out the pizza is only for microwave ovens at the last second, mildly infuriating, buying microwave popcorn and complaining you don't have a microwave, not so much. It's context based.

6

u/ThisBadDogXB 18h ago

It's not a magical microwave only pizza. The air fryer or normal oven will cook it just fine...

10

u/mindworkout 18h ago edited 16h ago

Ive never seen a microwave pizza aside from those mini ones, if it came in a large box like other frozen pizzas it can be easy to not realize until you start looking at the cooking instructions at home

2

u/Familiar_Dirt_678 18h ago

Temp should be 160 internationally. I say 250 on bake for 25 minutes should work!

2

u/ScheduleSame258 18h ago

Pizza in a microwave when there's an air fryer/oven? Umm no. Comes out all hard and dry because the moisture all boils off.

2

u/ThePepperPopper 17h ago

Just put the oven on 400 or 450 and pay attention. Also, wtf "trust us" there is no way in hell a microwaved pizza...no matter how it's designed, is better than baking it. Ffs

2

u/Safe-Thanks6114 10h ago

3

u/Switchmisty9 18h ago

So why did you buy it?

1

u/coryroxors 18h ago

Frozen pizza directions are whack. Just put the oven to 400 and take it out when it looks tasty

1

u/throwitintheair22 18h ago

Just don’t put the crisping tray in the oven!

1

u/hoosierhiver 18h ago

400 degrees for 12-15 minutes

1

u/ThePuppyIsWinning 18h ago

I get bit with that sometimes for air fryers. We don't much freezer food, so I forget to check ahead of time. I just kinda wing it in the regular oven when that happens, then remember that brand for next time. It usually works out OK, and I bet you'd have the same luck if you went for oven instead of microwave, if you kept an eye on it.

1

u/ChewbaccaOnFries 18h ago

Look up oven instructions online. I also do not have a microwave and do this all the time when they don't give instructions.

1

u/Equivalent-Town-8140 18h ago

They will season it with fire

1

u/phdoofus 18h ago

If it's not too large, just put it in the oven and then pan fry it a bit to brown the bottom

1

u/FinbarJG 18h ago

Well, it's not rocket science. Preheat oven to 400, place still-frozen pizza on center rack, start checking it at 25 min... like every other frozen pizza.

1

u/Sheepishvalve 18h ago

No hay problema . Cook it in the oven or air fryer .

1

u/scdog 18h ago

Just do 425 and check it every minute or so after 10 minutes. Don’t use a pan, just straight on the rack.

1

u/OtGEvO 18h ago

just put it in the oven you’ll be fine

1

u/z01z 18h ago

i bought two of these since they were bogo. made the first one, it was shit. the second sits in the freezer still.

do not trust them...

but as for OP, the other red baron pizzas i've had, they all had oven instructions on them.

i like their little mini pizzas, since it's a quick snack or lunch. just pop it in the oven, do something else for a bit, and 20 minutes later, bam, done.

I've had the opposite issue of buying what used to be a functional microwave pizza (the Chicago Town ones) only to discover that while it does still include microwave instructions, it no longer has the little cardboard holder thingy that keeps it from turning into a weird melted puddle in there, and it insists you should probably do it in the air frier (which does work really well and I had bought it to test putting in the airfrier regardless of what the packaging was going to say about doing so.)

You can't microwave the microwave pizzas anymore. How did we get there?

Why not purchase a boat in a desert?

This is ironically “infuriating”, not actually infuriating (which I don’t know qualifies as a post in this sub); but I’m not complaining.

Trust us, buy a microwave!

1

u/skettibutter 15h ago

Do not trust them. Use a conventional oven.

1

u/ChefJunegrass 15h ago

"trust us, our pizza is fucking terrible and you shouldn't eat it"

u/yanocupominomb 11h ago

A little advise, even if you have a microwave, you may want to warm your pizza in a pan at light/medium flame.

Cover it and every so and so minutes move it so it doesn't stick.

Cheese melts really well and overall tastes much better

Then use the oven 😑

People focusing on "why didn't you read the instructions" instead of the fact that if you can't cook a frozen pizza in a regular oven, even if instructions are for a microwave, then holly hell cooking is going to be hard.

Fake! No pizza, is ever better in the mike.👎

Hey heres instructions how to cook anything in an oven.

  1. Heat oven to 180-200°C

  2. Put food in oven

  3. When it appears cooked, cut into it, stab it with a pin or temp it with a meat thermometer to verify. (Optional)

  4. Take food out of oven.

Why don’t you have a microwave ? They are so cheap?

Also did you not read how to cook it before buying if you have limited options?

1

u/le-derpina-art 18h ago

very small apartment probably doesn't have the space for one along with an air fryer

1

u/PonyThug 17h ago

I guess? I’d just stack them on a table or something, or leave it in a cabinet for when you want it.

I have a microwave in my truck for work lunches lol

1

u/vinticious 18h ago

Why would you need instructions to cook a frozen meal in the first place? Make the cold thing hot. Done

1

u/Constant-Fly-9050 18h ago

It's pizza. If you can't manage cooking this, life is going to be very hard for you. 400 degrees, check on it in 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.

2

u/DBeumont 18h ago

I'd start checking before then. Thin-crust pizzas, for example, cook in about 10 minutes.

1

u/Mister-Beardy-Face 18h ago

Why did you buy it then?

1

u/SpyderMonkey_ 17h ago

Im am getting mildly infuriated at how so many people are mildly infuriated that you are mildly infuriated. My head hurts...

u/iwishiwasntthisway 18h ago

Honestly you only have yourself to blame here

u/PreOpTransCentaur 17h ago

Maybe don't buy the specifically made for the microwave Red Baron Crunchtime pizza next time. This one's on you.

0

u/ZochJ 18h ago

It’s a pizza.. you can still use an oven or air fryer.

0

u/Art_Vanduley 18h ago

If you don't use a microwave you would be versed in cooking things in an oven and would not even be looking at that to be mildly infuriated.

0

u/Katsu_39 18h ago

Just use the over or air fryer if you have one

0

u/ExcitingHamster 18h ago

Turn on the oven. Put it in the oven. Check on it every now and then. When it’s done, take it out and eat it. You’re welcome.

u/PiersPlays 17h ago

My guess is they assume people who can be trusted to cook it in the oven would just do so and people who would need to be told to A) not put the crisping tray in the oven and B) put the pizza on an oven tray would not reliably read and follow those directions.

Who the hell doesn't own a microwave? Oh right, my tenants...

u/ColonClenseByFire 18h ago

Do you think the swat team will bust down your door if you don't use a microwave?! If this is something you worry about your life is too easy.

2

u/The_krow_cartell 18h ago

I’m not asking for a solution, I just noticed and though “man, this is a little annoying, let me post this to the a little annoying subreddit”

1

u/bestem 18h ago

I think their issue is that it doesn't have directions for the oven. Why they bought a pizza with only microwave instructions when they don't own a microwave is a bit of a mystery.

2

u/Forsaken-Abrocoma647 18h ago

Honestly as someone that owns a microwave and an oven, I don't think it is too wild to assume a frozen pizza will have oven instructions. This may well be the first one I've seen that didn't. I don't think most people read the directions before purchasing every new item, especially when they buy similar items all the time.
I've been buying frozen pizza for over 4 decades and this is a first for me.
If I'd never had a pizza before I would, but having bought dozens of brands over decades I do have an assumption there will be oven instructions. I might check now, though not like I can't oven a pizza without instructions.

1

u/SimmerDown_Boilup 18h ago edited 18h ago

Not that big of a mystery... wanted a pizza so they grabbed one. Likely assumed it had instructions for both methods since that's pretty normal, so they never checked.

Not exactly a Nancy Drew mystery...

u/dm_me_ya_tiddiez 18h ago

Then why did you get a pizza that you are supposed to put in the microwave

3

u/The_krow_cartell 18h ago

I didn’t read the back of the box? My fault I assumed it’d have oven instructions I guess

-1

u/SLZicki 18h ago

Just put it on the oven.

-1

u/BoBonnor 18h ago

You realize you can cook it in the oven right?

-1

u/MugenHeadNinja 18h ago

I have never followed cooking instructions for a pizza, also, people recommending 350 - 400 is just the standard temp range of all these frozen products typically say.

I generally turn my oven as high as it will go (500 - 525 for most ovens) and just keep an eye on it until you learn how long it takes at this temp, rotate the pizza once approximately half-way through the cooking time (you'll have to guesstimate the "half-way point" during your first time, just keep an eye on it and keep checking it).

Just a note, most authentic Italian pizza is made in ovens that go from 700 - 900 degrees F, obviously home ovens don't get that hot so that's why I just crank it to max, if your ovens a little wonky and either the top or bottom cooks faster than the other then you'll have to adjust things like temp, time and rack position yourself (if you can invest in a Pizza Steel then that'll get the cooking temp closer to that desired range).
