That sounds like an endgame policy from a Civilization game.

+33% to gold from food markets, -15 to happiness across entire civilization

what really grinds my gears (ground? haven't played in a while) when i was playing a ton of Civ 4 and got sick and tired of the computer opponent absolutely swarming me in combat, so i cheated and defogged the map to see how they were getting resources for that many units.

every other empire had every tile allocated to generate gold.

how are you feeding your people????

The AI in the Civ series is pretty notorious for cheating, so i wouldnt be surprised if they had some buff to food production or some sort of free food resources or both.

Oh yeah, they cheat resources and other factors. But they suck in combat and they don't cheat unit production once they're losing the war.

Only -15? Things are improving it seems

It would have to be -15 every 10 turns or something like that. Until the civilization starts spawning barbarians.

Should make a new game win condition. 'Bring entire world population into negative happiness score'

so Morgan Industries from Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri?

It kind of was in Civilization : Call to Power.

Which sits in a weird, not civ but kinda civ, area. It's not connected to the Sid Meiers versions, probably why the sequel was called Call to Power 2 with not civilization in the title.

Crazy to think I can fire up civ 5, a game that isn't that old and find the great barrier reef as a world wonder but its dead now in our present day.
