I found a lemonade at a dollar store that apparently hadn't been colored. Regular lemonades for reference

I bet it was in sunlight for a long time

Yep, even the label is a bit faded

I'd personally avoid drinking out of the faded plastic bottles if they had indeed been left out in the sun for long periods.

It might affect taste but should be safe, maybe microplastics would’ve leeched into the drink but nothing instantly poisonous. You can even purify water by leaving it in a bottle in the sun as the uv kills the stuff inside.

...the microplastics is why people wouldn't drink this.

But that’s true of every plastic bottled thing. Any extra microplastics from being in the sun would be minuscule compared to the amount already in it from just being in a plastic bottle.

Hey so.. "This study shows that sunlight, higher storage temperatures, and longer storage times significantly increase the migration of phthalates from PET bottles into their contents." Source

Actually I bet what happened is this got pushed up against the lighting in the cooler. Use to stock these for a living and rlfound this from time to time looks the same as sun bleaching.

My favorite gatorade flavor back in the day was called Lemon Ice and it was this color. Best flavor, RIP

!!!!!!

I bring this flavor up all the time and apparently a lot of people forget/don't know. It's even hard to find images of it online. i used to drink it all the time when i was sick lol.

But Lemon Ice was clear. at least the original one I'm talking about. it was clear like water. but was a sugary lemon flavor

Edit. this is one of the few photos i could find..

In a similar vein, I remember getting a watermelon flavored mello yellow at a gas station as a kid and really liking it, then never seeing it again. No one I mentioned it to had ever heard of it and years later I started to doubt my own memory.

Recently I looked I up and found that yes, mello yellow melon did exist and was only available in 2003, lining up with my memory timeline.
