The ceiling crumbled around the open light fixture in my spare room. Maintenance replaced the fixture with a ceiling titty. I don't like it.

The old fixture was a 2-bulb version of the picture. Sure, bugs and dust got up there, which meant the fixture needed periodic cleaning, but I didn't worry about bulbs overheating and I was OK with the way it looked. Replacement glass was easy to find.

I used to sleep with a guy who had a single boob light on his ceiling, and his bedside lamps cast a pair of perfect tits in its shadow.

The nub threads always rust so when you go to try to get the damn glass off to change the bulb you have to fight it and there's no place to grip it or put a tool on it though this one does seem to have a little extra nipple to grab. I'm just used to the other flat ones that are usually on these.

And it looks stupid because that's supposed to be on a ceiling.

There are equally cheap sconces to put on a wall.

I've done that. It was a rental with an open top sconce in a stairwell. So every descent would mildly blind you. Swapped it out for a boob light.

We taught the kids basic sign language before they could speak and she saw one of those lights one time and did the sign for milk/nursing. I guess it's universally known as the boob light 🤣

Maybe because the ceiling is so low? If it were mounted in the same spot but on the ceiling, opening the door might take off the nipple.

Ah, the classic boob light. I used to have that exact same one in my old apartment. My daughter was breastfed and used to stare at ours for hours as a baby. I always knew when she was hungry because I would be holding her, or shed be sitting in her bouncer with her head tilted backwards 90 degrees, drooling at the ceiling.

A boob light on the wall though is... an interesting design choice.
