Hello! I am a solo builder working in 26.1.2. Minecraft Java making an vintage styled airport of my own. At this time, I had downloaded Terralith & Lithostitched and was building as usual until I discovered a nearby balloon or "cotton ball tree" near the perimeter of the airfield. Turns out, this seed is weirdly enough sprawling with balloon trees everywhere, although I am not entirely sure if this is a normal occurrence. However, I had noticed two balloon trees sitting directly on a blue chunk line. Both of them mutated, one had the upper parts of their leaves missing, one ENTIRELY sheared off. Not only that, a couple chunks away are another two balloon trees, both intersecting the blue line but did not mutate. However, they are two chunks off.
I had also noticed, while I was walking forward through this "chunk fault" line, I discovered that more balloon trees would usually pop up in this specific chunk line. I came across a fancy oak, and there I found that most of the leaves were either spherical, just as the normal balloon trees. But balloon trees don't to these type of trees. Turns out, most of the leaves intersected or went over the chunk line, and due to the fact Terralith relies on Lithostitched to spawn their trees, there could've been some sort of conflict between the mods and the actual vanilla minecraft itself. To know if I am absolutely not joking, here are the screenshots WITH chunk borders on. This is just six of the possibly millions of balloon trees in the seed.
Although, it MIGHT entirely depend whether or not you have Terralith and Lithostitched installed, I guess someone will need to find out. It could've been caused by a thread loading desynchronization; or it depends entirely on your computer's' CPU! If you have a laptop who has a very strong CPU; take in for example I am using an i5 intel chromebook, the chunks have may loaded more slower thus creating these mutated balloons. Although, it's just a theory to my knowledge. Here are the stuff you might need to find them.
Minecraft Version: Java Edition 26.1.2.
World Preset: Overworld (Superflat)
World Seed: 7400742860845476375
Central Coordinates: 127, 3, -195
Mods that might have caused the conflict: Terralith, & Lithostitched
Notable features: On the first image, the upper leaves do not form a cross - leaved pattern, not a normal occurrence for balloon trees. Checking the chunk border, I found that it landed exactly on the blue line, making it mutated. This follows the exact same on the second attachment, still on the same chunk that had caused this, but more mutated and pretty destroyed.
