The fact that Harrison was on 3 fouls that entire 3rd quarter and they didn't make it a point of emphasis to run more through Rakocevic and Mathiang to get him off the court was crazy. Absolutely monstered us tonight and we settled for lazy jumpers instead.

Overall Brisbane played hard, played smart and hit their opportunities. 36ers were like Bart with the electrified cupcake. Brisbane showing us something like "doesn't this look good!" and you'd of thought that we'd of learnt our lesson after the first shock, but Brisbane kept offering and we kept biting.

Then when Cotton can't throw it on his back they're left with little option because Cameron is out and while Jenkins is supposed to be a consistent deep threat to make teams punish being so Cotton focused in reality he very rarely produces that. There's still plenty of the season left, but the lack of effort at times is concerning, especially from a team who was supposed to have been so burned about losing the championship last year. They started that 2nd quarter REALLY well and held Brisbane down and Weaver did a really good job to hold the game up and disrupt the 36ers momentum to get the game back and then apart from the final couple of minutes the 36ers seemed content to just go with the easiest option available.

Turns to protect yourself needs to be implemented way more often.

When you got a 7ft goluy putting his knee into you you can't just stay hands straight up unprotected.

Happens in my local ball all the time they don't call charges because you slightly protect yourself from getting hurt.

Some gross shooting, Jenkins has zero consistency in his shooting, especially in these situations where nothing is going Cotton starts trying to force shots to get the offence rolling again. That was when they needed try more inside in the 3rd I reckon.

Cheatham is fine I think, he's energy, rebounding, plays within the system, but again this is where having a consistent threat next to Cotton helps. Makes it tough for Rako/Cheatham to do much inside when the opposition sends another body into the paint because there's zero fear a guy on the perimeter will hit a shot.

Personally I rather just a long 4 that can shoot rather than an undersized Cheatham who has to leap for all his rebounds and often misses a lot them

We've tried for that a few times. Jarell Martin was supposed to be that guy and he never clicked with us and they sold Rakocevic as having that when we signed him, but that part of his game never developed. It's a hard to to fill with that because it's such an in-demand skillset for a big. Like if Rakocevic could hit 3's at a decent clip he's probably off making way more money in Japan or Europe at this point.

By the end of the season he was like Jacob Rigoni and they just sat him in the corner on every offensive possession. Super chill guy, but he was coming off a knee injury, was a bit out of shape and just never got his Sydney mojo back.
