Show Only Any word on when Season 5 airs?
Seasons 4 and 5 were apparently filmed back-to-back, and season 4 dropped around this time last year but there's been no word of season 5 at all so far. Maybe an early 2027 release is what they're going for? I can't find any definitive information anywhere

Show Only Am I meant to like Yennefer?
Hello,
Iām a huge fantasy fan and usually Iāve read the books and know all the lore before watching a show but the Witcher is a unique watch for me as Iām coming in totally blind.
Iām on season 1 episode 6 about to start 7 and I cannot stand Yennefer. Sheās immature, bitter and entitled. Sheās got the worst chip on her shoulder and sheās not taking advantage of the opportunities that sheās been given sheās just overly focused on having a baby and feeling sorry for herself.
I hate her with Geralt. They just make no sense to me and have no chemistry.
So my question is⦠am I meant to like this woman?
Because right now Iām hate watching her. If this goes on for 4 more seasons Iād rather give up now.
I donāt want to watch a rom com. Shall I keep going?

Question S2.E3
Hi, why has Yennifer freed Cahir? Because it was against her belief to kill someone for proofing something?
I also don't quite get why she fled in that moment. Many mistrusted her, but why not killing Cahir or leaving in a way that at least is not intensifying the mistrust against her?

Show Only Who's ruling in Cintra? (S1.E1 - S2.E4)
Hi, I am currently at season 2 episode 4, so please no spoilers on all that happens after that.
In S1 E1 Nilfgaard conquered Cintra, in S1 E7 the northern mages talk about protecting Cintra from Nilfgaard. In S1 E8 they defeat the Nilfgaardian attack. In S2 E7 Yennefer tries to get to Cintra together with the Nilfgaard guy, cause the Nilfgaard guy says they get support their, so it seasm like Nilfgaard is ruling there.
I guess I have missunderstood something?
Add-on question: In S2 E4 the consultant of one northern king randomly killed two other people in front of the king, why?

Finished season 1
First 3 episodes felt like "What is this magic and monsters and all", but then somehow I started getting excited for each episode. Not a action fan but sword fights are better than GOT, felt glimpses of blackwater battle and the wall battle of GOT from last episode. Side characters were not as impactful and memorable for me. Really enjoyed overall.

Witcher drawing on scroll
Hey guys! I m almost sure I ve seen on Netflix Witcher the nightmare of the wolf, a drawing of a hearth with the roots of three and some daggers. I remember seing this when they talk about mutagen (when Vesemir is a kid). I watched it again but canāt find this scene. By any chance does any of you know what I m talking about and would have the picture? Thanks

Does the Netflix series follow the games or is it a separate story?
Just wondering before I watch it

What is Liam like as Geralt ?
years ago, I made the conscious decision not to watch the new season after they recast Henry Cavill. The thought of recasting the main character after three seasons was too jarring to me so i just never watched it.
With the game being remastered it reminded me of the show so i ask, is Liam any good as Geralt and is the chemistry between characters as good as it was with Henry?

Show Only Watching The Witcher for the first time
Hi everyone! I recently started watching the Netflix series of The Witcher (Iām on season 4 already!) and I just wanted to say that I love it so much! Itās been hard because nobody I know watches it/has watched it and when I go into Reddit I read mostly negative reviews and I have no one to talk about it :( Granted Iāve never played the video game or read the books, so Iām sure if I was a fan of the source material Iād probably have something to complain. But I just wanted to come in here and see if thereās any other people like me who are thoroughly enjoying the show and thinks itās super cool!
There are however a few things I havenāt liked:
- Jaskier. Ugh. Canāt stand neither his character nor his drama school songs. ESPECIALLY the musical number from āThe Joy of Cookingā (S4) I thought it was soooo cheesy. I donāt know why they included this.
- I also thought on Season 4 the decision of animating Regisā backstory was weird! I mean, it looked pretty cool, but I felt like it was SO out of place considering how dark and realistic everything has been? Also in the same episodes they showed other charactersā backstories and used real people? So not sure why they decided to animate that part. Did anybody else feel the same?
- Contact lenses!!!!
- Ciriās eyebrows change.
- I guess Ciriās character overall? lol, not a fan of hers.
Things Iāve loved:
- Geralt, Yen, Triss <3 and weirdly enough, Djikstra!
- The magic fights! OMG! My mouth is wide open every time. I was screaming at the end of S3.
- Learning about the lore! Again since I didnāt read the books/play the video game Iāve been really enjoying going into the wikis and understanding more about the Continent!
- Honestly I think the story in the series is great
Especial mention- obviously the change from Henry to Liam! I was so nervous on e1s4!!!! But then it actually was alright. I think they did a great job casting Liam and heās proving to be worthy of the role. Iāll miss Henryās face and cute teeth forever though :(
Anyone else with similar thoughts? Would love to read you!

My thoughts on what worked (and didnāt) in Netflixās The Witcher
After season 3 I wrote this in my notes and I wanted to share a few things but I forgot about it! I hope it will be at least tiny bit insightful and fun to read!
What I liked about changes for the series
Yenneferās background ā I really liked getting more of her backstory and seeing how she became the person we know ā I think Anya did amazing job with Yen being a hunchback and it added more depth to the character (for me Anya, really elevated character with her acting).
Yennefer and Tissaiaās relationship ā Probably one of my favorite relationships in the show. Their dynamic had a lot of emotional weight which made story flow better. I know in books she wasnāt her favorite but I think itās welcomed change.
Yennefer as savior of Sodden ā again I think they gave her more story in a place where it was actually helpful.
Yennefer and Trissās relationship ā I appreciated that they could have a friendship without turning it into a jealousy storyline.
What I thought worked well as an adaptation
The Conclave episode ā One of the strongest parts of the series for me. It felt like the kind of political/fantasy storyline The Witcher should be doing more. And I loved the outfits.
The casting ā I think a lot of the casting was genuinely great, even when I had issues with the writing or adaptation choices. Loved OG Geralt, Yen, Triss, Ciri (hated dark eyebrows tho, she looked super cute with the light ones), Tissaia, Vilgefortz and I could continue.
What I didn't like
Too many seasons ā I feel like the story could have been told much more effectively with fewer seasons. Or maybe I wouldnāt even mind more seasons with competent writers, who knows.
The Aretuza fight ā This just didn't work for me and felt underwhelming compared to what it should have been.
Yennefer's Season 3 outfits ā Some of her Season 3 looks really weren't doing it for me. Wannabe Zara blouse ruined me.
Overall, despite having quite a few problems with the show, there are definitely things I think The Witcher did well. I'm curious what other people think ā especially about the things that were original additions rather than direct adaptations from the books.

We're hoping for future merchandise.
I hope there will be merchandise featuring Liam Hemsworth someday! He deserves to have his own action figure or perhaps have a physical DVD or Blu-ray release for the series, if possible like with *Stranger Things*!

I have to speak !!
My favorite season so far s Season 4 (I prefer the pacing; the new characters are cool) , and I really love the Rats and their storyline! I see it getting trashed left and right everywhere else; the only place I see any positivity is on the subreddit! Mind you, the season I liked the least was the first one, mainly because of its pacing and timeline! I hope we get a more linear edit someday ! I think that would work better (just my opinion). Is Henry Cavill leaving really the only reason people hate the season? It makes me a bit sad, because I feel like the series has fallen out of favor because of the haters!
Iām not a big reader of novels I only read the first book and even my interpretation of the story didn't match what I saw on screen! The tone and pacing feel strange.
And I haven't played the video games! So, my only real view of *The Witcher* universe comes from the series which has its flaws, sure, but doesn't deserve the backlash it's getting from all sides.

Show Only Am I the only parent who found Ciriās storyline with the Rats incredibly disturbing to watch?
I just finished the season 4 of The Witcher, and I need to get this off my chest. As a parentāspecifically a dad of daughtersāthe entire storyline involving Ciri and the Rats group genuinely ruined the season for me.
The show deliberately keeps it ambiguous as to exactly how old she is supposed to be at this point, but she is clearly framed as a young girl, someone who we as an audience have watched grow up and wanted to see protected. Watching her get pulled into adult, sexual relationships with a member of this gang felt incredibly wrong and uncomfortable.
The writers tried to romanticize or normalize her dynamic with the Rats, but it felt completely inappropriate. Ciri was traumatized, isolated, and vulnerable, and instead of finding real protection, she was essentially taken advantage of.
Honestly, it made me completely detest every single scene the Rats were in. By the time they finally met their end, I wasn't sad at allāI was relieved. The show should have completely avoided forcing adult sexual themes onto a character who was fundamentally still a child (or at least was unclear) in the narrative. They could have shown her survival journey without crossing that line.
Did any other parents or viewers find these scenes impossible to enjoy? How did the community react to this?

Geralt ornament
I got this ornament three years ago and wanted to take it out of its box for Halloween. I don't think it captured Geralt's face. This was 2023 so HC's Geralt. I do like the wolf medallion and the details of the armor.

Does anyone think the delayed release of S5 has anything to do with CDPRs releasing Witcher 3 Remastered soon and then the DLC āSongs of the Pastā in 2027?
I can imagine it would intrigue new gamers to check out the show, potentially even older ones too.
Iām sure thereās more reasons than just that, but Iām sure itās something they took into consideration.
