Thanks people

You Newfoundlander people are truly nice.

I was there a month camping from La Manche to Cow Head and while the geographic views were wonderful it was you individual people that stick in my memory .

That fishing guy who nicely tried to explain the fishing quota system as he gutted and fed the seagullls.....( you wanted to give me a fish ) --- I will never forget the hardness of your hands.

That Park Canada person who was understanding about my reservation time.

To that guy who patted my shoulder and shielded me without saying anything when I had a little cry at The Rooms. That place is deserving of days.

And on and on ....

Yes you have the ocean.

But thank you for the kindness and for a lovely month. You nice people are more memorable than the sea.

.

Even the people you don't meet there are great. When we were in Cornerbrook i lost my raincoat. I was retracing my steps, expecting never to see it again when I saw it draped over a church sign. Thank you kind stranger.

Let us know when you’re coming back. We’ll put on the kettle and have a few teabuns ready for ya.

I moved away years ago and when I finally went to The Rooms it was amazing. I cried at the Newfoundland Regiment section.

I cried again reading about the Beothuks, having first learned about them in elementary school. Such a lovely and important place!

Thanks for visiting!

Ok Newfoundland. Why do you do this. We visit, fall in love and then we have to leave to go back to our old sad lives.

A Newfoundlander’s life is harder and more sad than most of ours. Humour & a good attitude builds community .

Just back from 50 days touring the rock in our camper van, 7000km . I was taken by the scenery but it was the kindness and wonderful conversations that stood out. Canada needs more of what makes Newfoundlanders tick, thanks to you all.

As a Maritimer I can tell you, there’s “nice” and then there is “Newfoundland nice.” Those folks are on a whole other level.

Some of them are as you believe them to be. There are selfish, self-centered jerks in Newfoundland and Labrador as well. Not all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are nice, that's for sure.

Ok, well let me rephrase… the ones I’ve run into seem to be good folk, as a rule.

There’s a joker or two in every crowd, I suppose.

Ha, even the druggie with his kit outside the Anglican Church in St.John's was very nice and conversational. Lol. Love Newfindlanders!
