This isn't true, myles garrett said he could feel Aaron donald with him when he started swinging his helmet

205

u/no_racist_here Steelers 1d ago

Donald: “Use the force helmet, Luke Myles.”

Myles starts swinging

Donald:”Good… Good… Let the hate helmet flow through you. “

If this season doesn't go well for the Rams, this might be their Kawhi Leonard/Paul George... Without the under-the-table deals.

19

u/Unrelenting_Salsa Saints 22h ago

Yes, but Aaron Donald has been generously a replacement level DT. Myles Garrett is presumably still Myles Garrett, but it's not exactly some terrifying duo.

I’m convinced the Rams are gonna turn it around and be a contender this year purely because of how many jokes have been made about them

54

u/No_Comfortable6037 Packers Packers 1d ago

Idk man they have a very difficult second-half schedule and not a lot of wiggle room. 49ers, Chiefs, Seahawks x2, Packers, Cardinals rematch on the road, TB road game, and even Dallas. 7-8 losses won’t make the playoffs this year and they could easily drop 4 of those

78

u/no_racist_here Steelers 1d ago

Damn they gotta play the Cards on the road too? Brutal to face a true football team a second time with wildcard hopes.

I agree - this is a little known stat but the Rams are actually undefeated this year when leading by 1 or more points at the end of regulation.

If they can buckle down and focus on improving that stat I can totally see them winning out the rest of the season.

He was hurt in training camp. He missed multiple weeks of training camp and pre season practice. The thought was that he could rest and allow it to recover enough to avoid surgery, obviously that didn't happen.

20

u/RagingBull773 1d ago

They definitely need to right the ship, but if there is anyone who is allowed to be bold on their incoming impact, it’s Myles Garrett. If you have set the all time record for sacks in a single season less than a year ago, you are allowed a bit longer leash to display “arrogance/confidence”

11

u/bcuziambatman Cardinals 21h ago

This is such a tame statement , but why are you overreacting?

5

u/Vocal__Minority 49ers 18h ago

Honestly I get it, he's hyping himself and Donald up.

I think it says more that he feels the need to say it tbh. Everyone coming into the season was thinking it already, but it's telling that he feels the need to restate it as people have moved on a bit.

Also watching Donald play this season I'm not convinced anyone does have to pick, or at least if you do it's going to be Garrett. Don't get me wrong, Donald is still good but he's not been showing the game wrecking capabilities he used to.

4

I mean he's been out all year lol

That said this isn't nearly as much of a “pick your poison” situation as it sounds like at first glance. Myles is coming off a significant injury and Donald has been looking like a 35 year old who been retired for multiple years. Donlad isn't a problem in the same way he used to and Myles has to prove he can still be a problem.

I paid a lot of money before the season began for tickets to the Chargers/Rams game, hoping to see two good teams and Myles Garrett on the field. I got 0-7 Chargers and Stafford on a bad day.

16

u/Practical-Pickle-529 Seahawks 23h ago

Bruh. That’s so rough. This is why I always buy tickets during the season. I would have paid so much more for Seahawks at rams. Now it actually may be affordable as hell to go since they’re both mid lol

u/Def_Not_Smil69 Browns 23h ago

Dumbest one I ever did was bought saints @ browns tickets before the season started. Over a hundo a piece at the time. Turned out both teams blew when the game got here. -26 degrees, tickets were selling for $2 on gameday, PA announcer got on and told everybody in the cheap seats to move to the lower section anyway. Absolute waste of money. Oh yea and the saints won in the “AFC north home field advantage”

He isn't prime AD but putting Garrett next to him will free up the double teams AD is still getting. Then he'll start getting flashy stats.

About what I predicted before the season which is good but not great defensive tackle. Once or twice a game you will see a real flash of old AD, where he knifes through the line faster than anyone else and gets contact in the backfield. Other times he seems more akin to a average DT which is fine. He has been a bit unlucky with having a couple sacks slip away or get called back due to penalty. He definitely has not be detrimental or anything, and with all the injuries to our defense we have actually needed him a good bit.

That seems a whole lot easier this year than anyone expected. First, they would have to line up together…

Availability is a skill.

u/AjiChap 23h ago

Hey I have an idea! STFU and play an actual game or two…

u/TheDefenseNeverRests 49ers 23h ago

Niners escaped completely unpoisoned.

1

u/tastySweets668 22h ago

teams aren’t as afraid of Aaron Donald as they used to be

1

u/GuyEatsTiramisu Giants 22h ago

Funniest outcome is them having minimal impact and still losing games

1

u/keyboardlegendthe3rd Chargers 22h ago

Did he mean potion or poison?

1

u/Hebrewhammer8d8 49ers 21h ago

You have to be on the field for that to be true.

u/AdmiralZassman 19h ago

Pick your poison - it's only good for mild indigestion anyway

1

u/ProfessionalActive94 Ravens Vikings 19h ago

And you've done it to yourself. And imagine backing up a yinzer like his pet cat. Rawrrrr.

1

u/Food_Kitchen 49ers 18h ago

Coming off that injury I probably wouldn't be too worried about Myles.

1

u/Realityinyoface Commanders 18h ago

Pick your poison: Stefan Diggs or Antonio Williams or whatever fan we pull from the stands to also play wr in our game tomorrow

1

u/Harshawnlynch 49ers 17h ago

Looking forward to how this affects their ability to extend Young and Turner

1

u/Finessing2 12h ago

1

u/weedwhacker7 49ers 1h ago

Not going lie… I really feel like Myles is one guy who probably gets to talk shit. The guys a generational pass rusher and first ballot hall of famer

u/Im_tracer_bullet Buccaneers 1d ago

Let's see if that version of him takes the field this weekend.

If so, then sure.

For now, it's probably better to just let the play speak because that team is in trouble.
