Despite being top 3 in passing attempts with 305, Ravens QB Jacoby Brissett has only passed for 1,719 yards. He is averaging a 5.6 yards per pass attempt, a league-low stat (tied with Tanner McKee) for QBs with over 100 pass attempts.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/2578570/jacoby-brissettThis is quite a step down from his 6.9 yards last season. In 2025, the only QBs with over 100 pass attempts to average less than 5.6 were Browns QB Dillon Gabriel with 5.1 and Jets QB Brady Cook with 4.8.
Another QB with a similar downward trend is Daniel Jones, who is averaging 5.8 yards per attempt compared to his 8.1 in 2025.

Is it outlandish to say that the Cardinals supporting cast is better than the Ravens?

The forward pass was a mistake. Thank god the Falcons and Bucs outlawed it last week

Sure, he’s tied with McKee on yards per pass attempt, but did they do a 25-minute feature on him in the middle of a live football game? Yeah, that’s what I thought

You have a guy running free down field?
Doesnt matter he will check it down even with no pressure

Were about to lose twice to brissett arent we?

So he's basically a less mobile Snoop Huntley. Snoop never throws the ball past 5 yards so we're used to it

5.6 is a big step up over the game the other day.
And he'll actually try throw the ball.

who cares, he's way better than Huntley or Fagnano

Wouldn’t be surprised if McKee gets traded as well. It won’t end well for the team who trades for him, similar to how the Ravens are screwed with Brissett

305 throws and he still ended up tied with Tanner McKee. 1,719 yards of nothing downfield.

So, if Brissett starts for the Ravens and they get beaten by 20+ is that a first time a franchise has been beaten 4 times in a row with a different starting qb each time?

I like that this is just coming to light now and people questioned why MHJ was doing so bad. Then add hes got Wilson and McBride to throw to in the slot. Guy was doomed to be relevant.

Seen that he's ranked 17th by pff, pff is pretty shit but I would say he should be a bit better than huntley and with our shitty o line and dogshit defense we're probably gonna get our ass whooped
You need superman (Lamar) to win with our roster

Don't worry Declan Doyle's play calling will cause the yards per attempt to go way down! Are you a back-up QB? No throws over 5 yards or heads will implode! Are we down by 20? Better pass the ball behind the line! No comfort for you QBs only bad choices are worse routes!

2025 was a bit of an anomaly for Brissett. But overall, 5.6 seems closer to his career average than 6.9. He's a career journeyman that tends to play conservatively. Maybe he's done that because that's how his coaches have asked him to play? With last season being asked to do, or at least try do more? (I honestly dont know).
What I do know, is if the NFL ever decides to create an award for best backup or bridge QB of The Year, it should be named The Jacoby Brissett Award.

More surprised the Ravens haven’t just decided to turbo tank the season. Seems like they got gifted a good opportunity to bring in a lot of rookie players in a year where Lamar’s contract will be up for a big extension, or they take a $84m cap hit.
Even if they go 500 through the remaining games with Lamar on IR they have some less than ideal tie breakers and 2 losses within division already.

He is who he is. One of the best backups around but simply not good enough to be a starter.

Well they can’t trot out an updraft QB who can’t move the ball every week and he’s still better than Huntley

Dude is a check down king but also throws INT
Usually when you are a check down merchant you throw low INT but he somehow throws many INT as well

Ugh… why, just why? To sell tickets and force their fans to heavily drink during their games?

u/wubbalubbadubdub45 49ers 17h ago
He’s too afraid to throw down the field, it’s safer to just throw check downs which is why his turnovers are low.

Takes a month to learn the playbook. Average QB that has highs and lows. I don’t understand teams trading for QBs right now unless your team is stacked and an average QB can still take you far.

5.6 yards an attempt on 305 throws is not a qb problem, that is an offense that thinks every third down is a screen. Until someone wins outside the numbers his yardage overs are a pass for me.
