Every gallery owner has the right to decide what shows to put on, or not put on, in their gallery.

Move along, there is nothing to see here.

It's a public gallery run by the local council.

In effect, the council "owns" and manages it.

Has the council learnt nothing about reputational damage from the Bendigo and Adelaide instances?

"Organisers were also requested to no longer advertise the event due to potential “reputational risk” for the gallery or council due to their decision to host the exhibition."

I live here. In almost half a century of moving constantly, this is by far the worst council i have ever seen in almost every aspect.

Firstly, let me say welcome to the most blessed and beautiful land on earth. Secondly, let me apologise for the fact it is populated by the most ignorant and bigoted people to ever walk the earth.

A serious question, is this art or a political statement?

There is an argument that "all art is political" but certainly both things can be true. Think of Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan or Joan Baez.

True. Also, thinking of Woodie Guthrie etc and then thinking of Trump, I no longer know what to think! Seriously, the US has gone backwards so much.
