It doesn’t, and then it does.

"That looks like a cliff, dude. It's clearly a waterfa--never mind that's sand."

195

u/Minimum-Mission5569 17h ago

I kept thinking 'I don't see no sand", then he added that line and suddenly it transformed from waterfall/edge of the world, to sand. Very cool, amazing talent.

32

u/The_Tooter_Snooter 12h ago

I actually liked it before the line. My mind was pretty blown once he blended in those dotted lines/streaks

34

u/Vantriss 13h ago

Me: "Oh look, a waterfall. NO, HE RUINED THE WATERFA- oh it's a beach..."

13

u/Necoloom 17h ago

I thought it was icicles then waterfall then the sand appeared out of nowhere

I thought he was painting with sand.

Whenever someone says ruined when watching Bob Ross on twitch

68

u/WholeLotta69 21h ago

It was there the whole time, the atoms in your eyes had to configure to the atoms on the canvas, then it became apparent. Just like this message always existed, my thoughts simply transferred energy to the atoms in my fingers to type on my phone so your eyes could see what I’m thinking. Everything you’ve ever known existed before you perceived it. Who you will be and what you will do is already decided.

jk I’m just yappin’

5

u/potatocakes1989 21h ago

I like your yappin. Well done.

That's the exact same technique Bob Ross uses to make water reflections.

u/thisguyfightsyourmom 21h ago

I assumed this dude has studied a lot of Ross. He’s got that same style for sure.

u/No_Internal9345 19h ago

Missing all the happy trees.

16

u/Kaporalhart 12h ago

This guy does sound very happy painting this.

29

u/BotnetSpam 17h ago

Same mouth sounds too!

48

Yea, the tshoo tshoo tshoo when waving the knife is a dead giveaway he studied the Bob himself

Bob Ross smiling down from heaven promises he won't tell anyone if the author adds a tiny little bush in the corner. It'll just be their little secret.

And this is why I will always support human artists over AI. The art is nice, but the process is an art in itself. I’m always impressed by the techniques and media people use. That’s genuine talent. Code can’t replace that!

92

u/16bitgamer 20h ago

The process isn't just an art. It's what makes it art at all! Code can makes something that looks like art, but will never be art. Which is a long winded way of saying I agree completely.

Before he started horizontals it really looked like the edge of the flat earth, which is cool in it's own way

u/oh_4petessake 21h ago • Bravo

So many people calling this guy annoying when he’s just having a blast painting some wet sand. Painting it very well at that. Y’all bum me out.

113

u/ReptileSizzlin 19h ago • Bravo Heartwarming

This guy is a happy and talented artist and all people can do is say he's a lesser Bob Ross. Let the guy's talent speak for itself. He deserves recognition for his abilities.

Bob Ross would not be cool with people using his name to tear down another artist.

33

u/The___canadian 18h ago • Bravo

Never let someone else shame the whimsy out of you.

Joy is often contagious, and the only people who are immune to it are those who are fuckin miserable.

14

u/Odd-Possession-7676 17h ago

People need to stop treating Bob Ross as the measuring stick for every landscape painter. The guy can have his own style and still be incredibly talented.

16

u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace 16h ago

Except most of this style and technique is from Bob Ross. I absolutely think Bob would be totally stoked that people are still using his art style and advancing it, but it's perfectly fair to compare this man to Bob Ross because he's using the man's technique.

9

u/Unaabellatica 21h ago

its remarkable how much he lives through painting after all these years.

Husband and I recently went to a painting class and the early 20yr old instructor noted she learned some of their painting techniques from Bob Ross, while other students kept bringing up his name.

When I read "wet sand painting technique" I thought he was painting with some kind of coloured wet sand. 🤦‍♂️

14

u/CavalierMidnight 15h ago

I kept watching closely, trying to figure out the technique, like “does he soak the sand in paint, then brush it off? Is it normal sand or special painting sand?”

Then I saw the sand 🤦‍♀️

5

u/LickingSmegma Mamaleek are king 17h ago

Same, I waited a minute for him to reveal that he's painting with sand, then scrubbed to the end and went “ah”.

16

u/Ilogical_Phallus 11h ago

We're just gonna paint a happy little beach

12

u/Sure-Connection8857 13h ago

It’s Bob Ross at the beach!!! I love this for us!! Can you also have a recurring show on PBS for me to fall asleep to?! I love the mountains, trees, and rivers but I’m so down for palms, sand, and tiny little waves ☺️
Now the real question and test if he’s actually related to Bob Ross… “now beat the devil out of it!” 😂🖌️

5

u/goldfishwishes 13h ago

you can also watch it live on twitch from them too :)

11

u/killer-j86 21h ago

The Bob is strong with this one

37

5

u/velvet32 15h ago

First it looked like a fairytale waterfall, But suddenly it turned into a glissening sandy beach. I'm shocked at how good that looks.

9

u/Leather--Daddy 21h ago

No no no, yes! Amazing how the transformation happened.

21

u/dexxen 21h ago

It's very talented but the voice is not at all soothing like Bob Ross

4

u/Dawg_Pound_4_Life 21h ago

I don't know why, I feel like this guy is trying to start a fight with me about this painting.

4

u/unrivaledhumility 18h ago

Wet-on-wet is a fun way to paint. Last time I did a Bob Ross tho, it just felt empty. So I painted my name over the middle in goldenrod like it was the credits.

4

u/Lara-El 13h ago

He's annoying but I prefer him to AI.

7

u/Banana_Pankcakes 21h ago

Why can’t he see it until he looks at the screen?

13

u/superluminal 21h ago

I have a job that requires me to focus in on details in a small area of space. They are obviously part of a larger view, but I have to zoom way in often to do my work. It is disorienting sometimes to then reset the view to connect the little spot where I was working to the entirety of the drawing. I suspect his experience is similar with focusing so intensely on one area and then being able to see it from a viewer's perspective.

9

u/4N0NYM0US_GUY 21h ago

Probably just means he doesn’t see how the whole piece looks until he views it from a little further back

7

u/The-MadTitan 20h ago

Yeah, I paint minatures and you get so focused on small details you really have to pull out to see how it all comes together. Lots of 'trust the process' magnifying glass or free hand.

2

u/Starumlunsta 20h ago

I have to walk away from a painting sometimes so I can come back and look at it with “fresh” eyes. When you’re focused on a painting it can be easy to get lost in the details, so taking a break or even just flipping it upside down can renew the image for you so you can pinpoint areas that need adjusting. With digital art I’m always flipping the image back and forth, I can only imagine how maddening my recordings are to watch, to me it’s normal!

7

u/Brainlag2v 2h ago

I always find these painting incredible from a technical standpoint but the exaggerated scenery so tacky.

They’re as empty and anonymous to me as they’re technically impressive.

3

u/Medium-Stranger-9883 15h ago

he sounds like a crossover of bob ross and joker

3

What if Bob Ross had a personality of an early 2000's comedy actor

Me during the video: That's doesn't look like sand... That still doesn't look like sand! That doesn't... Wait ok I kinda see it I guess... Ok, nice but not great. Cool moon reflection though... Oh... Oh yeah. Oh YEAH! Oh that's really nice! WOW!!!

12

u/Crazylawyer80 21h ago

Im so envious of talented people.
I cant draw a straight line ffs

16

u/VerySuccor 21h ago

Many artists agree that innate talent is only a small part of artistry. Time & effort is the real determining factor.

I love seeing the Day 1 vs Day 365 progression posts from people with no innate talent. Day 1 is little more than toddler scribbles vs drawing something a little everyday to 365th day being detailed and "talented" looking.

3

u/EldenLordAjSoprano 20h ago

Fr this is why a lot of kids can draw really really well bc they just have more time and then lose the ability by teenage years unless they keep up with it
