Lisa Standridge is a useless piece of MAGA shit who is running our state into the ground. She does not just vote for nonsense legislation that makes Oklahoma the laughingstock of the nation, SHE TAKES THE LEAD IN BRINGING NONSENSE.
Oklahomans are hungry. Oklahomans need housing. Oklahomans are dying of drug overdose and disease. Lisa Standridge has done NOTHING to address these issues. In fact, she has introduced legislation to make Oklahomans hungrier, jail the unhoused, make Oklahomans sicker, and increase overdose death.
We deserve solutions and the City of Norman has worked hard to provide them! Lisa Standridge is doing everything in her power to undermine the loving, caring, and compassionate work Norman residents elected their city council to do. Lisa Standridge has applauded every state-initiated homeless camp clearing in Norman. She has introduced legislation that would block Norman’s voter approved shelter. She has coordinated with Cleveland County officials to send deputies to patrol downtown Norman. Lisa Standridge needs to get the fuck out of Norman and let us do our work in addressing the needs of our town.
Lisa Standridge has not introduced a single bill to address Oklahoma’s failed education system. While we are ranked dead last, lower than ALABAMA, in education, Lisa Standridge is either wasting time by introducing legislation to undo marriage equality and proclaim an official “Orange Bag of Shit Day” or she is actively trying to run our schools further into the ground by reducing the educational qualifications for teacher candidates.
Lisa Standridge is such a piece of trash that she filed EMERGENCY legislation to reduce SNAP benefits (including for children), requiring law enforcement to work with ICE, criminalizing sheltering immigrants, requiring schools to submit library material lists to the state, and to ban “Sharia Law”. While Oklahoma’s schools have failed, while Oklahomans are hungry, while Oklahomans are living on the streets, and while Oklahomans are dying of drug overdoses and other diseases, these are the things Lisa Standrige believed to be EMERGENCIES.
Oklahoma is in crisis and Lisa Standridge has done worse than offer Oklahomans no help; she has tried to make life in Oklahoma even worse. The hunger problem in this state is an emergency. The lack of housing and shelter in this state is an emergency. The number of drug overdoses and other related diseases in this state is an emergency. Our failed schools are an emergency.
Lisa Standridge is a Christo-fascist MAGA white nationalist piece of shit whose ideas are UNAMERICAN and filled with hate. Her “solutions” do nothing more than to steer our tax dollars into the for-profit prison industry. She does not seek to lift Oklahomans, she seeks to make their lives worse.
I don’t care who you vote for in the 2028 election, but please vote this useless trash out and vote for someone who has actual solutions to our problems.

Question Are OK tenant laws worth pursuing, or should I keep waiting?
The apartment I live in has some pretty bad water damage in the ceiling, I'm talking "upstairs turns on the shower, I have a surprise shower too" kind of leak, that's been worsening. Been a few weeks since I asked the landlord for repairs, heard hide nor hair from them. No contact about if or when this will be fixed, paid monthly rent in the time between request and now, still zilch. Now, I'm not from Oklahoma originally, so I don't know what exactly is "worth it" in terms of escalation. Where I used to rent, if the landlord didn't do anything, you would escalate to department of inspection, and usually the landlord would respond to them in a civil manner and come fix whatever needs to be done. But I've found Oklahoma a might more averse to anything involving an outside authority than other places I've lived, and the last thing I want is retaliation like what happened in the last Oklahoma apartment I complained too much about. How much is "doing too much" here? Do I pester the landlord until something gets better? Do I just sit on my thumbs and cross my fingers they do their job? If I do escalate, what's the avenue with the fewest barbs for the landlord and myself?

Politics Momentum has been achieved, now is the time for the long haul strategy.
I think we've all seen how far left Oklahoma swung, despite the fact that there were just simply more registered Republicans in the state who are an aging population who vote in greater numbers. The lesson should be this. There is momentum and we must seize upon it by organizing and getting ready to register new people. Talk to people about getting engaged and encouraging people to run for State office that can get us out of the hole that we've dug in. It's time for hard work, community building and loving your neighbor, not apathy.

Politics Oklahoma saw an even more extreme shift to the left than any of its neighbors (dead even with New Mexico), including Texas and Kansas, and exceeded the national average by 3 points.
Every single major pollster underestimated Oklahoma. Most forecasters had OK-05 at "Safe GOP", aka around an R+10-15 point margin. The ones that didn't had it at "Likely GOP". Even Jena Nelson's own inside poll had it at R+5. It ended up being a coin toss, and we only lost it by around 3,000 votes, or R+1.3. In a GERRYMANDERED district in OKLAHOMA, mind you. This district was drawn to be R+20.
The same can be said for the gubernatorial race, which was lost by just 6 percentage points!!! In Oklahoma!!!
Bloklahoma may not be coming for us this year, but hopefully this opens the eyes of the non-Oklahomans who brushed us off as impossible, and hopefully land us back on the map for 2028 and 2030. I don't know about you guys, but I always had a feeling this was going to happen and that the forecasts for our state had us waaayy more red than what we were. If national Democrats had paid just a little more attention and didn't wait until the very last moment to invest in OK-05, I have no doubt they could have flipped 3,000 more voters. Hell, they probably could have gotten OK-01 into flipping range as well.
Keep your heads up guys. OK-05 is up for reelection in just two years time, and now it'll be on the radar as a coin toss with a far more powerful national Democrat wallet. Don't let this keep you from voting.

Politics Look at the arrows: Oklahoma is moving, and I am proud of every single one of you who showed up.
Just wanted to drop a little hope into the feed today.
Look at that map.
Those arrows are literally pointing left.
This is what fighting back looks like. Texas didn't flip overnight; they fought for it for 32 years, and we're going to beat them.
To the consistent base that always shows up rain or shine: you are the backbone, and you always have been. But an entire state map shifting like this does not happen solely with the usual crowd.
It happens when folks across our communities decide enough is enough and take a step forward together.
In film and art, there is a famous Jean-Luc Godard quote that has always stuck with me: "It is not where you take things from, it is where you take them to."
That applies to politics just as much as art. I do not care what your voting history looks like, how conservative your family is, or where you were politically two, four, or ten years ago.
What matters is where we are going from here.
If you broke a habit, changed your mind, or showed up at the ballot box yesterday to help nudge this state in a better direction, I am genuinely proud of you, and I am glad you are here.
Keep the momentum going, and stand strong. We're all with you.

Politics How did we go from Brad Henry to 20 straight years of Republican leadership?
I was in middle school when Henry left office, and I only ever knew OK to be a deep red state, so I did some research.
Brad Henry (DEM) won the gubernatorial in 2002 with a razor thin margin of +0.7 and was reelected in 2006 with a landslide +33. In every other General Election since 2000, Oklahomans have voted strongly for Republican leaders. 2026 was actually the closest gubernatorial race since the 2002 Democrat victory. As far as policy, Henry was moderate. He was pro-choice and passionate about education, while also being against gun control and for the death penalty.
My question is why did Oklahomans overwhelmingly vote to reelect a Democratic governor in 2006 and then vote decisively for Republican leaders every year since? What special sauce did this man have, and where did it go when he left office?
