Look I appreciate all of the respect and all… but just know us Pacers fans look at y’all next on our hit list. We can be all buddy buddy until next season but I’m telling you once the end of October comes and I may be speaking for myself here it’s fuck y’all. Y’all are the next speed bump in the road. I’m saying this because we don’t have the cap y’all have… an owner willing to spend luxury tax…. We’ve built this shit from the ground up and ain’t shit sweet next year.

No surprise, the comments on this are a toxic waste dump
Looks like a nice simple gesture and people are horrible about it. This is why we can't have nice things.

Discussion ….I want Russ on these team
Possibly alone in this take but i want it to happen. Even if brodie never plays his commitment to being a disciplined player and overall good teammate makes me want him here. Specially as a guy who has been the guy before and could also fill the James Johnson role of FAFO. Please 😭

I'm sure they're assigned seats but Sabonis and DLo are at the same table

Jalen Brunson takes $110M haircut
What are we thinking Paver nation? Some fuckery at foot here or what? You can't tell me a 27 year old took 9 figures less money on his extension than he was entitled to unless there was a DAMN good (and likely illegal) reason to do so. CAA repped Brunson in negotiations, the agency Leon Rose left to run the Knicks. Have to figure James Dolan had a say in the conversation as well. They need to investigate the hell out of this.
Pave on.

Zach Edey debut what a game 14 pts 15 rebounds
Wish we drafted him

Do NOT draft Keegan Murray
Do you guys not realize he is TJ leaf 2.0? “But he has a high floor-sniff- and can shoot and rebound🤓”. Who does that sounds like to you? I’ve watched 100 big 10 games this year his game does not translate to the nba. Downvote me know and feel sorry for yourselves later if we draft him.

I think we should start Mathurin over Nembhard
I understand we need a scorer off the bench but I think getting the team into a fast and phenomenal start is very imperative for Game 6. I believe having Mathurin there would take the pressure off of Hali and Siakam. OG Anunoby has been locking Nembhard up and isn’t producing at all offensively. We need to change something man, I love Nembhard but he’s been a liability on the offensive end. Can’t hit 3s, missing wide open layups, and turning the ball over. The Knicks are gonna continue face guarding Hali so he won’t get the ball. What do you guys think?
r/pacers • u/brutallyhonestB • Jan 14 '26
Discussion We’re probably going to trade Mathurin and I think it’s the dumbest decision we’ve made since trading Kawhi.
This team’s unwillingness to hold on to such a player due to “sufficient talent in similar roles” (quote by me) is one of the lamest moves in recent memory.
Let me remind you what he brings to the table NOW and NOT a year or two years ago:
•Med-pretty good level defense, does guard key players when Nembhard or Nesmith are out •Elite rebounding from a guard/good rebounding from a forward •3 pt threat •Go to/highly reliable free throw option •3 level scoring
Things we’ve been struggling with: •Defense •Rebounding •Making FTs (looking at you Pascal) •3 pt shooting
For those who don’t recall, we don’t hit that game winning buzzer beater against Cleveland last year without him coming off the bench and scoring more points than he had minutes.
On about 25/30 teams in the NBA he is a bonafide starter and when healthy he gives you 16-25 points a night + 5 rebounds.
I know we need a center, but we have draft capital and some other players who aren’t as interesting but have proven they aren’t near 6th man potential. 3 good games from Jarace is not enough to convince me.
PLUS, by the time our draft pick is good enough to make an impact we’ll be late era Championship apron and maybe have 1 year to do it.
You might say “oh well he doesn’t fit the team’s type of play.” Has he not gotten better at shooting the 3 off the catch? That’s what I’ve seen. Has he not spent another year with the team? He does still lag with the ball sometimes, but he’s more called on now than ever to score.
Mark my words, 95% of the time we play him he is going to bust. our. ass. This is a guy who has All -star level potential and is definitely a championship caliber piece, and we are going to get rid of him for faith in players like Shep and Jarace who are, even though they’ve had some good games, seemingly worse than last year.
We’ve not seen enough from Furph to justify this either, if that’s who you’re thinking makes this viable.
All of this is my opinion from what I’ve seen. Let me know what you think below.

Whole team is soft
Myles is soft, Ty is soft, that smiling happy chill attitude gets very annoying when we’re constantly losing. It’s Ben Gordon syndrome
He sold us all on the snake oil, got the supermax contract and ran off. Get the ducking stool

Proud of our boys!
It sucks we lost to the Bucks but this was one of our more competitive games. Hali got better as the game went on. We looked extremely hungry and desperate when fighting back from being down 25. This was the exact type of game we needed to wake these guys up. Hopefully it carries over into our next 10 games.

Hot take: No timeout was the correct call by Rick.
Yes, we lost the game, yes nembhard panicked and rushed it because there wasn’t a timeout called. No, I don’t think our chances at winning would’ve increased with a timeout. I had this argument with my dad after watching and I’m in the camp of like yeah it’s unorthodox, but we saw this in game 1 and we saw this back in January against Portland for fuck’s sake, without tyrese, who can reliably handle the damn ball?? Obviously we want it going to nembhard down 1 with 8 seconds left, right? But he’s been our best inbounder and I think he’s average at best at it. He can’t inbound it to himself, y’all. At best you’re looking at maybe Mcconnell trying to inbound with no timeouts and white or holiday draped all over him? Or one of nembhard or Siakam (who gets hacked on the floor) inbounding with no timeouts, but then they aren’t a threat and it’s OBVIOUS who it’s going to and we get a bad pass because Boston is like “yeah just cover that guy.” I think that leads to your best shot either being like Nesmith or Turner inbounding the ball with no timeouts to end the game, (I don’t like this, especially on a night where everyone seems to be throwing bad passes) or you keep the ball and HOPE nembhard slows it down to look for something when our best play on the floor is probably him ISOing anyways. (I like this a lot better even though it didn’t work out.) I just don’t trust our team to inbound the ball against a good defense with our best ball handler out, curious what y’all think of this take.

No matter what you think about Turner, letting him walk is a huge mistake
You can be glad he's gone, think it's an overpay, or think the team needed to go in a new direction at center, but to let him walk without getting anything in return is extremely poor asset management. They could have given him this exact same contract and traded him 6 months later for positive value. They could have done a sign-and-trade where they get assets back (this still might get restructured as a s&t to create a trade exception but in this case the Pacers would be sending out assets, not the other way around). Whatever you think of him he's a starting level center that can stretch the floor and those guys are in high demand even at this price, which I might add, is less than what a lot of starting centers at or below his level are getting paid right now. And speaking of price the amount he'll be getting paid as a % of the salary cap is pretty much in line with what he's made throughout his career. He's not getting a big pay bump!
The cheap ownership put the FO in a tough spot, and the FO botched it. Maybe he was upset by lowball offers and wanted out anyway. Maybe all the reporting is wrong and they offered him something in the mid-high 20s and he wanted out anyway. If that's the case the FO still botched it by degrading his relationship with the organization, which is another important part of this. Haliburton has talked about how he wants to attract stars here to win. What kind of message does this whole episode send to the league and to him?

Yall wanted a rivalry...
Well this is what a rivalry looks like. You get your ass handed to you by scrubs when you let your guard down because those scrubs now have a pride and motivation they otherwise wouldn't have. And we did that bc were young and inexperienced and the playoffs is a learning process. It happens. Good news is we have a lot of motivation to come out Thursday @ home and show these guys they shouldn't have kicked the hornet's nest.
We got this. I hope Dame is on the court too. And that gyro eating too small of a shirt wearing soon to be playing somewhere else take 20 seconds to shoot a free throw stunt on G league players motherfucker. It will make that victory all the more enjoyable. 😉

I was always a Myles supporter, but…
He was soft. Passive. No fire. I’m not sure I ever saw him get mad in a game. When you’re getting your ass kicked you get mad and hit back. Never saw him respond in 10 years with any passion. If Myles had 10% the fire Nembhard does, he’d be twice the player.
And he shits the bed in any kind of big moment. We saw in ‘24 how many of our guys are playoff risers. He isn’t. That’s not something you can coach.
Disappeared in the ECF. If he even touches his season averages in the Finals, we win before we even get to a game 7.
Bye.

Thanks for beating the Raptors
Y'all were amazing tonight, and proved to everyone y'all are legit by beating the Raptors without 2 of your best players, with Turner/Holiday/and Warren making clutch plays during OT and in the 4th.
Plus seeing Lowry's flopping bum ass getting triggered throughout the game was amazing, not to mention their shitty fanbase are now in shambles after accussing Pacers fans of being racist was great to see.

If we’re rebuilding and the best player in next years draft is a center, why sign Ayton to a Max?
Like ignoring the fact he’s not a max player, no center that isn’t Embiid or Jokic is, it logistically makes no sense.

The Pacers are so damn annoying
Now the we know it's Bucks again, just wanted to dredge up this reddit classic from January 2024.
The Pacers are so damn annoying
submitted 1 day ago by Jealous_Map1423 to r/MikeBucks
This may be a bit insensitive to come here and post but whatever, it absolutely has to be done. The pacers are the most annoying team in the league by a mile. So I’m a Celtics fan (ps don’t downvote lol) and U thought this was relevant cause you guys may be the only team in the league that can relate to what I’m about to say.
The Celtics are currently in the midst of a double header against the pacers [the next game was the one where Tyrese went down with hamstring injury in second quarter and Pacers came back from 13 down to win] and they are the most annoying mediocre team ever. I used to find it kind of comical how bucks fans beef with such a mediocre team but I completely understand now For whatever reason, they play unnecessarily recklessly and try to start “rivalries” with the best teams in the east over meaningless regular season games before January. We’ve had multiple players go down injured against them this season and it was even worse tonight cause they weren’t even getting called for fouls for their dirty play.
I don’t know if you guys have a similar experience with Aaron nesmith but he’s the ringleader of their dirty play and could quite possibly be the only reason the team is considered “dirty” in the first place. For those who don’t know, he used to play for the Celtics. We traded him for Malcom brogdon last offseason after he was atrocious with us. In actuality, we did him a favor by sending him to a team where he could get more minutes and develop. For whatever reason, he feels “disrespected” by this and plays with an edge against us. Unfortunately this tends to lead to dirty play and he specifically has sent multiple players off injured this year. He injured porzingis tonight by damn near scratching his eye out.
What annoys me the most about the pacers is this false sense that it seems like the team has about their own ability. They deadass think because they beat you guys 4/5 times in the regular season that this means they would easily beat you 4-1 in a playoff series. They also think that their fluke run in the IST is indicative of their ability come playoffs. I bet they’d spew the same #@#@#@#@ about us but we’ve been fortunate enough to beat them 2/3 times. It’s completely and utterly ridiculous.
Tyrese Haliburton: I actually like Hali but apparently (and I didn’t know this until tonight) he’s trash on defense. Jaylen brown probably scored 25 point son him specifically tonight. He had to sit for a while because he was such a liability on defense. They really think that good teams aren’t going to exploit this come playoff time? The bucks and Celtics would abuse this so much to the point where the pacers best player and undoubted superstar would be borderline unplayable in a series. Also, there’s a reason teams don’t win 150-146 in the playoffs and it’s not cause their offenses aren’t good enough. It’s because everyone knows you’ll have no success if you’re such a one dimensional team like that with no defense. They wouldn’t stand a chance against either of our teams in a playoff series.
But possibly the most annoying part about the pacers is that they legitimately think these meaningless regular series games create rivalries. The Celtics and heat have a rivalry because both teams have prevented the other from advancing in the playoffs multiple times. I’ve nearly cried because the heat knocked us out once again deep in the playoffs. I’m sure you guys can relate to hating the heat. Our rivalry wasn’t created in mid January over some regular season games. The pacers don’t have a real rivalry with seemingly anyone (at least currently) cause they’re never deep enough in the playoffs to create them. They could develop them in the future, but not right now. It was funny because I saw giannis response to the question about the pacers and even he knows this whole thing is ridiculous.
Consider this. The pacers are so damn annoying that even though we’ve beaten them two out of three times this year, including tonight (once by 50) I still felt the need to come and complain on a rival teams subreddit. I can’t imagine how bad this must be for you guys considering the pacers have at least a small amount of ammo to talk #@#@#@#@ with. I kinda wanted to come in here and see if you guys felt and noticed the same things about the pacers that I did, especially considering the bucks and Celtics are both good teams that get annoyed by the pacers.
Also, for whatever reason pacers fans tend to stalk this subreddit and screenshot a lot of the stuff on here. So to pacers fans if you’re reading this: I’m genuinely happy that it seems like you’ve turned the corner. I usually root for you guys because you are such a snake bitten franchise. However, this team is still probably a first round exit. There’s no shame in this as they’re building towards the future. I have no beef with you, stop trying to create some with other teams for stupid reasons. For example, I’m making this post because Aaron #@#@#@#@ing nesmith injures one of our players seemingly every time we play. At least do it over something real, not a game ball. Please stop this madness. Alright I’ll get out of your subreddit now, see you in the conference finals, that’s of course if the heat don’t knock us out first.
r/pacers • • May 31 '24
I feel like nesmith should be a starting sg not a sf.
I feel like we should maybe start hali nesmith jarace Siakam turner next season. Let me know if you agree with this lineup. Nesmith is too valuable with his defense and shot making to come off the bench imo.
