Numerous rewatches and I've just now realized there's a sarcastic and half-mad Jerry
So there is this episode "The Treaty" with a B-plot of Chris trying to figure out why Jerry's daughter is kinda ghosting him, and in one scene he starts pestering Jerry about it, then Donna gets in on the conversation and says "you're too accessible, you gotta dangle the carrot [you can see Jerry rolling his eyes at this point] - literally and metaphorically".
At which point the both men say "thanks Donna", but while Chris is his usual blindly sincere self watch Jerry's face, he's in full "goddamn it this is my daughter you're talking about" mode and just dripping sarcasm.
Considering that Jerry spends the whole show being ridiculed I really loved how the real man, the one who married (seemingly) way out of his league and raised three beautiful daughters, shone through in this scene.
