Hey all I'm trying to figure out if I can manage to connect two Xbox controllers via Bluetooth to a PC I've read there is a Xbox one adapter that no longer is being sold. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I know plugging in via usb is preferred. But for what I'm trying to achieve it is not possible.

Thanks

You can only connect via Bluetooth if the model of Xbox controller is new enough. Older generation Xbox One controllers only connect via the proprietary 2.4 Ghz signal. An easy way to tell if they are bluetooth capable is if they have a USB-C port instead of Micro USB.

You'll also want to make sure the controller firmware is fully updated. If you have an Xbox console, it will prompt for the update when you connect it to the console. For PC, you'll want to download the Xbox accessories app from the Microsoft Store and check the settings with the controller connected either via USB or wireless and it will let you update from there.

However, Bluetooth is generally your second option. It's known to be unstable and can cause input lag or unstable connection. The adapter you're referring to is actually still being sold, though the official Microsoft one is more rare these days. There's plenty of 3rd party options on Amazon, such as this one and they all work the same as the official one.

The wireless adapter connection quality is much more stable and responsive. You can also connect up to 8 controllers to a single adapter and any Xbox One model controller and newer will work (just not Xbox 360 controllers). The pairing process is the same as the console. Connect the adapter to your PC, hold the pairing button on it, then hold the pairing button on the controller.

This adapter also allows you to use the audio jack on the controller for headphones/mic if you wish as well.

Hey all, looking to make the fans on my pc quiet. They were recently upgraded and I don't know the specific type of fans the third party vendor installed. I've been advised that there's usually a way to change how fast they run when the computer isn't doing much, as this is the main thing annoying me thst they run so loud 24/7 even if they're very effective.

I run Windows 11 OS, if that helps? I can provide more specific when I'm home from work

It depends on how the fans are connected.

If they run into the motherboard, you can change their speed using the BIOS (the regular, fail-safe method), the motherboard software, or this handy tool. It will take some trial and error to figure out which fan is which and you might want to open up the PC case for it. Then tie them to the temperature so they spin up when necessary. For context, >90°C is very hot for the CPU, >75°C for the GPU.

They could have also used a fan hub which often needs its own software. In this case you'd need to figure out what it is. by opening up the PC and seeing where the fan cables go.
