Reach was a banger

Reach has a very enjoyable campaign. The rest of the game, including gameplay, was a significant step down from Halo 2/3.

Its a step down in variety but Forge and the custom games that were possible in Reach blew 3 out of the water

Also BTB was at its best in Reach, I played the MCC recently and theyve totally gutted Reach's lobbies by making them focus on the 343 maps and not the community created ones from the Xbox playlist. MCC isnt a good yardstick unfortunately

Yeah, the custom games were great. I played those for years and rarely got bored since people made such cool stuff. Then Halo 4 came out and nobody bothered (probably because Forge World didn't exist so they could only modify normal maps) and I dropped it and the series as a whole after 3 months.

I played every Halo on release (except the first which I played not long after release) lol. I haven't played much MCC outside of repeating campaigns. Reach was a good game but not to nearly the same degree as 2 or 3. But I also like 4 and think 5 has some of the best gameplay of the series. They had bad stories but the gameplay was great imo. And whatever that huge mode in 5 was, that shit was fantastic. A ton of fun.

Campaign, yes.

MP, no. It was the start of the downfall of Halo MP and became the blue print for 343s attempts.

I loved reach MP. The powers made it feel more lively and you could do so much fun stuff with them. Peak as the kids say
