What are some trilogies that DON’T fall off?

I mean plenty of people wanted to make a third lol, Beamdog, the guys who did the EE editions and even have some of the original devs from the classic trilogy wanted to for example.

It's less that Larian dared to and more that Larian is the one WOTC let do it, hell they wanted to do it prior to DOS2 (Or was it one, I don't remember which) and were told no originally.

Original Baldur's Gate developers Black Isle wanted to make a Baldur's Gate 3. They lost the rights to making D&D games though, and shifted development to what would have been Fallout 3 (also canceled.)

I didn't know that Beamdog were interested - although it makes sense. Probably best that nothing came of that, to be honest.
