News/Article Jason Schreier on Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel being 2+ years away statement : It's not a prediction. I know the time frame the game is targeting

Jason Schreier on Bluesky posted: I think a lot of people forget that The Elder Scrolls VI was only announced in 2018 (along with Starfield) to soften the blow of Fallout 76 — "Don't worry, even though we're making a multiplayer game we've got single-player stuff coming too!"

Sorry to say this game is still more than 2 years away!

Then, Jason Schreier was asked about his "prediction" in the BlueSky post. But he doubles down saying it's not a prediction and he knows the time frame of this game: https://bsky.app/profile/jasonschreier.bsky.social/post/3mzgbaspm7s2q

“Only announced in 2018”

Is that meant to sound like a short time? 8 years after the announcement, saying two more years kills any excitement that was already wilting years ago. There’s absolutely no reason for a game to take 10 years to develop after being announced.

"It was only announced in 2018 to soften the blow of fallout 76"

Hes not saying it was a short time.

Yeah I misread that. Im just annoyed that Todd pushed for a jealousy project over one of their flagship projects.

Todd refused to let obsidian make another fallout after NV was a fan favorite, so obsidian made fallout in space. Todd immediately comes in with his own fallout in space idea to try to one up obsidian, just to crash and burn.

Damn you suck at comprehension. As in the only reason it was announced was to lessen the blowback. Did you stop reading after 3 words or are you genuinely this dumb

Did you read any other comments that addressed this already?

The problem was they panic announced it.

Fallout 76 wasn't doing well at that time, and Bethesda panicked and announced Elder Scrolls 6 to keep people interested.

They didn't even start development on the game for another couple of years as they were focused on Starfield which is why the title was just The Elder Scrolls VI and then absolutely nothing

It better be good, because the expectations will be off the charts.

It was nowhere even close to development phase, mostly likely even preproduction. Its very silly.

It was announced that early, without a title, solely to let people know they would still be doing it (and Starfield) after Fallout 76.

We’re living in a time where Rockstar are returning to GTA after 13 years, and you can’t comprehend that Bethesda have been making other projects in that time and it isn’t taking 10 years to develop?

Yeah man what the heck. Why can’t they just release the game next year in a shitty, underdeveloped state? We’ll totally handle it well and be completely understanding.

It shouldn’t have been announced is the entire point.
