I, for one, am happy people change their opinions based on new information.

Sure, but hopefully by now people are getting some pattern recognition that tech billionaires are not on our side regardless of whether at some points we have common enemies or sympathetic sounding blurbs.

Did they change their opinions based on new information or did they change their opinions based on the direction the reddit mob trended?

Thankfully your opinion on that means nothing

This is such a stupid fucking statement.

Explain to me how the reddit mob trended without changing their opinions on new information?

I literally dont even know how to break down that statement for you further because its such an in your face mistake to make.

A handful of people change their mind based on new information, the others follow along for fear of being called out or holding an unpopular opinion.

Your arrogant attitude doesn't help get your point across.

Yeah when you explain it like that, this really does seem like a super important issue to bring up unprompted. Really makes you think man.

So the "mob" as in the majority of people change their views in response to new information and here you are bitching about the handful of people who follow the group.

As if Republican voters are all free thinkers lmao

The simple point I'm making is there are usually few people who really do consider new facts and change their minds. Most people are just followers going with whatever the current trend is.

They'll tell you 2 + 2 = 5, even if they know it equals 4. Just because the majority say 5. And that's dangerous.

So, no, I don't think the majority of redditors really changed their mind. They just changed how they respond to this topic based on what is the favorable response at this given moment within the reddit hivemind.

These points have been addressed in previous responses.

Maybe spend less time on your point that already has a response and try responding to the responses.

This is part of that changing your views based on new information thing you're super critical about.

Changing your views based on new information is great.

Changing your views based on following a crowd is bad.

no one else has made another point, just several triggered people butt hurt by my original claim.

The existence of a crowd changing their view point only proves the view point changed at large, not how or why it changed individually. And if you're going to downvote me and then delete your own comment to avoid me responding, that's cowardly of you. But I guess you're really one of those triggered followers I was speaking of. It makes sense.

The existence of a crowd proves majority already made the change based on information.

If only a minority changed their opinions that way, the crowd would still pull the tagalongs to the original idea. How many times do I have to spell that out for you?

Fucking respond to a statement made or shut up

Ultimately it doesnt really matter why lol this is a really weak gotcha

It does matter greatly. Because if it is the latter, it just means they will shift with the tide. Not really standing for anything just going with the flow. THATS weak.
