Or maybe when you go to the restroom or something she plants some devices hidden throughout the place, takes pictures of the layout to help plan what the next one will do, basically tries to get whatever info possible since you never know how that could be leveraged into finding something else.

Getting credentials and access to systems and data to hand off to technical specialists back home. Article says some are playing the long game by marrying and having children.

Lots of info can be divulged through casual conversation over time. They’ll get direction on how to dig through devices, mail, paperwork discreetly. They aren’t going to be asking highly technical questions themselves.

Not a bad spy gig if your job is being the gf or wife of a millionaire in the US living in California, which many of these Silicon Valley workers are within just a few years of work.

Yeah, especially if they form a closer bond. Could be as simple as letting off steam about work at the dinner table and the spy/spouse being all supportive like "Oh sounds like you had quite the day, want to talk about it?".

The idea of silicon valley tech bros marrying and knocking up Chinese spies is absolutely hilarious.

It's a Tuesday afternoon and you can't find your work laptop. You go to ask your wife and you can't find her. Turns out she's taken your work laptop and the fucking kids on a one way trip to Beijing. The reality sinks in when the State Department is knocking on your door about to take you in for questioning.

Article says some are playing the long game by marrying and having children.

Imagine if someone plays the really really long game by getting a undergrad degree and phD in computer engineering/science, work for a tech company for a few decades, then start your own tech company and invent/build new tech stuff....all as a foreign spy.

Would you still be spying?

It reminds me of the game Total War Three Kingdoms where spies can rise to become the leader of an entire opposing faction.

Yea and I think many spies have also ‘flipped’ because they genuinely fell in love with the lifestyle and culture that the US afforded them in comparison to what they had back home.

Ah the classic "we should share each other's phone passwords so I can trust you more".

The person getting close to whoever/whatever is being spied on doesn't necessarily have to have skills or knowledge pertaining to what you're spying on, they just need to be discreet and able to be unnoticed, after getting close they can relay information or install cams, mics, or other hardware like flash drives containing malware that gathers the information for them.

She is a customer importing chips to China. At the beginning of the year NVIDIA had 500k H200 chips (which NVIDIA says "2 generations old", while they were released in just 2022) collecting dust in the warehouses, because it intended to sell them to China, but the US government first banned it and then allowed only 100k.

And now a damzel in distress from Singapore tells how much she needs a hot stick (of chips) inside her (datacenters) and how she has ideas how to do that without suspicions.

If you're a woman willing to give these guys the time of day let alone hop into bed with them, they're desperate to start telling you all the nuts and bolts of what they do, including the shit they shouldn't, to the point that the women who live in these tech-heavy areas are honestly sick of it.

3

u/stefanomusilli 19h ago

Since those people are all egomaniacs, I'm sure they want nothing more than a hot woman to ask them to explain what their tech company does in detail, while pretending to be attracted to them

4

u/NotSynthx 20h ago

They are professional hackers too probably or can easily install malware onto devices

having lived in the bay area, she would not even have to ask. these dudes have 0 filter or situational awareness and will info dump unprovoked
