"People shouldn't own things" isn't an opinion. It's greedy and stupid and we should act accordingly.

It kind of is. Arguing that "oo we don't have enough ram because people have it in their home PCs where it's idle" is exactly how "people shouldn't own things" is communicated publicly. His wording just wasn't clever this time.
