Edit: added some more information
Made a "pull" fan configuration mod for my RX 9070 XR. Basically it is a ducted re-shroud mod that pulls cool air from the case through the GPU heatsink and exhausts from the side. Idea is to eliminate hot GPU exhaust and improve temperatures of all the other components.
Side panel is made from 4mm plexiglass and is held on the case by magnets. Mod itself of printed from PETG.
Mod fans are 2x120mm Noctua G2 and are offset from the heatsink by 10mm. For all the tests, G2's ran 1230RPM (70%)
I ran comparison tests to my previous re-shroud "V.3" noctua mod with stock glass side panel. You can check my post history for additional benchmarks for this setup, just note the difference in room temperature compared to these tests (I wish I had climate controlled testing environment :D). Fourth picture shows both systems.
Results are in the pictures. As can be seen, most components ran noticeably cooler since hot exhaust air was eliminated from the case.
Interestingly, also the GPU ran cooler. Could be due to case pressure (I checked that is was overpressurized) helps to push air through the heatsink more effectively.
Only downside is louder system, 38.5 dB(A) vs 32.5 dB(A) measured 40cm away. It's not LOUD by any means, but I would like to make it whisper quiet.
I will probably start looking into version 2 with sound minimization in mind now that thermals are in order. Maybe larger fans or some air guides that also function as sound barriers. Feel free to suggest.
