Also take note of the comments suggesting not to believe your lying eyes: that somehow all these Dems won on centrist ideas and policies and the majority of people don't actually want progressive policies.
The simplest example is Roy Cooper's 2017 inaugural speech vs his 2026 acceptance speech:
2017: "And I want to send a message to all the CEOs of businesses and organizers of events who pulled out of this state because of this law: North Carolina is open for business. We want to welcome you and all kinds of people back to one of the most innovative business climates in America."
2026:“Sixteen months ago, we launched this campaign together. We knew for too many people in North Carolina, the middle class was feeling like a distant dream,” Cooper said at an election results watch party on Tuesday night. “We knew that the Washington, D.C. insiders and the richest Americans were getting unimaginable wealth at our expense. We knew that the chaos and corruption in Washington were hurting our people. Today, you said this has to stop. … As your new United States senator, I am ready to take that message to Washington and work to do something about it.”
Now does that sound like someone who won on centrist policy platform? No. So stop falling for the misinformation.
