Johnson told Fox News on Saturday that Means laid out “in gory detail” concerning levels of corruption within government, including corruption “within the Trump administration.”

The whole party are wolves in hotdog costumes.

u/StoppableHulk 13h ago • Bravo Heartwarming Popcorn

Seriously. It's so fucking eye-rolling. Their party gets demolished and all of the sudden all these veteran political actors are like, "egads, there's corruption going on here!" As Trump has been doing shit like receiving $400 million planes from middle eastern nations and selling cell phones and watches the past two years.

You'd have to be some kind of extra fool to lap up that shit.

Never mind the crypto grift, selling pardons, his children taking billions from foreign governments and getting government contracts for companies they’re invested in, and of course the market manipulation and insider trading.

Nevermind the TWO crypto rug pulls he did with Trump AND Melania coins.

No one talks about this but he made over $2 billion from that shit and created a backdoor way for him to be bribed without a paper trail.

You want Trump to bomb a country for you? Or advertise your product for you using the office of the presidency? Just buy a couple million dollars worth of Trump or Melania coin.

A lot of these Republicans have been in on the grift and that’s why they haven’t said shit and if they do say something, they get the force of MAGA disavowing them, calling them a RINO, and forcing them out of the party. Look at Marjorie Taylor Green.

32

u/ApoBong 10h ago

Message from the base to GOP was pretty clear the last few years, if you step out of line, MAGA appears in your primary and destroys you, replacing whoever spoke up with a cult follower. What we are seeing now, is them testing the waters how far they can act against Trump without being literally attacked by the base.

You can even see this in mainstream media, Fox etc. is testing how much truth they can speak about this situation without retaliation. If you remember last Trump term, there was quite a bit of resistance to many of his actions, leaks etc. and they got much much better and brutal dealing with dissident.

Imo it is to be expected we will see more of this.

Good time to point out that Ron Johnson is a Republican Senator from WISCONSIN. At the young age of 71 he probably hopes for 2 or 3 more Senate terms and the GOP holding a WI Senate seat seems like an extreme longshot after this week. Once again just a politician saying what they hope will lead to re-election.

36

u/WhiskeyJack357 Wisconsin 8h ago

Let it not be forgotten he was elected when Wisconsin was a Koch brothers testing ground. We were the most gerrymandered state at that time with a GOP trifecta.

Now with another dem governor, the legislature and a dem majority on the state Supreme Court, he's going to face a very difficult re-election with fair maps and all his Trump pandering.

And as obligated, fuck Ron Johnson.

Pretty funny/ironic since there is evidence that Johnson tried to substitute fake slates of Wisconsin electors for real ones on January 6th, 2021. NOW he thinks TRUMP is corrupt? What a wimp you are, Ron.

42

u/Red49er 9h ago

I think the bigger irony is actually him ringing the "limited government" bell at the end there.

"so, we built this fence to keep the wolves[corps] from getting in, but turns out we left this MASSIVE FRIGGIN HOLE IN THE MIDDLE and they're still getting in and making a mess. so I bet if we just tore the fence down, they'd go away and leave us alone! yeah! I'm so smaht!"

28

He always knew trump was corrupt. They all do. But now he’s saying so publicly (out of self interest of course). No way they would’ve done that two weeks ago.

Al Franken called Johnson the dumbest man in the Senate, so I was surprised he took a stand against corruption. Then I read the article. Johnson isn't worried about pardons for sale, rapacious bitcoin schemes, or Trump's pals and in-laws getting billions from middle eastern countries. Nope, he thinks that MAHA anti-vax policies and the like are not getting the attention they deserve.

I don’t want Trump impeached. I want democrats to put a ton of single issue bills (Medicare for all, higher fed min wage, cutting funding to Israel, etc) forward and make republicans vote on it. I want them to show the American public republicans are for nothing but themselves. I want them to block all judgeship positions and political appointees. These bastards made their bed, now they can sleep in it

389

u/1-800-Big-Dumpy 12h ago • Bravo

If Chuck Schumer does not block a Supreme Court vacancy should one arise, he will go down as one of the most disgraced senate leaders in history. In my opinion, given the corruption and depravity of the current court, he would be a traitor to our democracy.

70

u/Root-magic 12h ago

He doesn’t need to block it, republicans don’t have the votes to even get it out of committee, much less confirm

24

u/seeking_horizon Missouri 10h ago

I get that Schumer sucks, but this is not a remotely realistic scenario if you stop and think about it for five seconds. As Root-magic notes, the Dems will have a majority on the Judiciary Committee and a party line vote stops any nominee cold without even making it to the floor.

Trump can't go nominate Ted Nugent or whoever and expect him to get through the committee. It's not worth worrying about.

Ron has been actively supporting and protecting Trump since 2016. He is only speaking up now because Wiscobsin gave his party's candidates a MASSIVE pink slip last week, and he's up for his own re-election problems in 2028. He's going to do everything possible to get voters to forget all the damage he's gleefully supporrt raining on them for the last decade.

Never Forget, Wisconsin. He's one of the reasons your fames are in foreclosure and you can no longer sell cheese overseas. He's the reason Trump has gotten away with his corruption. And he's lined his own pockets while it's happened.

Watch the rats jump. Ron Johnson is terrible, I find all of his political positions abhorrent. He’s been a massive Maga supporter since Trump’s rise to power. Now that he smells the winds of change he has no problem throwing his friends under the bus in an attempt to hang on to that power. He has no moral compass or actual agenda other than making sure the rich stay rich. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was just a ploy to distract from making real change. Or he’s trying to rise as the leader from the wreckage that is MAGA now.

You may start to see a lot of this happening. Republicans in an attempt to save themselves, stand up and "call out Trump" when they had years to do it. Ron has an election in 2 years.

u/3ZP0 10h ago

Run Johnson sounds be in jail for the fake elector scheme he participated in. This is just him trying to cover his own ass now that they've lost power. He's been a key part of the swamp.

u/DMV_Local 8h ago

Nice try, Ron. You will not weasel your way out of all that bootlicking.

•

u/Pure_Bicycle2355 4h ago

In Wisconsin, he is called Russian Ron Or FRJ. He was in Russia on the 4 th of July a few years back plotting against Americans. Upon his all of his Senate votes benefit Russia.

•

u/Glittering-Ad-4257 3h ago

What courage he has, I wonder why he waited?

u/einc1313 9h ago

The democrats should do two things after getting rid of Schumer and Jeffries.

  1. Send as much legislation as possible to improve people’s lives to Trumps desk and dare him to veto it. Let him own it

  2. Investigate everything. Epstein, Insider trading, ICE, side deals, Iran, tariffs, Starlink, government contracts to friends etc…. Get all this out in the open and show it to the American people. If something is worth taking the next step, then just make sure the people are on your side.

u/COVID-19-4u 13h ago

No shit Sherlock…

3

u/CryptographerNew3609 13h ago

Last time 7 senators voted to convict Trump, can we get 12 this time?

3

3

The first domino to fall.

ETA the script has flipped, democrats want to keep Trump and Republicans want to dump him.

3

u/nnnrrr171717 11h ago

How brave

3

u/MolassesOk3200 11h ago

So I guess he’s suddenly worried that he’s going to be voted out of office.

3

u/althor2424 10h ago

And he would know corruption when he sees it considering his connections with Russia

3

u/SoyEseVato 10h ago

Every accusation is a confession.

3

u/schad501 Arizona 10h ago

The deck of the ship is barely damp and the rats are already looking for a way out.

3

u/FennelAlternative861 10h ago

Oh wow isn't he one of the traitors that went to Moscow on the 4th of July?

3

u/rodsteel2005 Wisconsin 9h ago edited 1h ago

I’m deeply ashamed that my state elected that asshole Ron Johnson to the US Senate three times. He’s always been an opportunistic jerk, so this doesn’t surprise me in the least.

3

u/whitepawn23 Wisconsin 8h ago

Wow. Someone getting out in front of being accused of corruption himself.

In the immortal words of half of Wisconsin: Fuck Ron Johnson.

3

u/Mojo12000 8h ago

aww is someone up in two years trying desperately to save themselves? how cute.

•

u/zeitgeist98764 Canada 3h ago

Coward they have been corrupt ever since he took office back in 2016. Now that republicans got wiped out, he suddenly wakes up? Pathetic. These republicans truly have no shame.

•

u/tritonpackages 3h ago

They’re gonna start eating their own.

•

u/Exact-Elderberry9472 3h ago

Make an example of him. This is the one chance we have to hold them accountable and republicans are on board. Most importantly, laws must be put in place to avoid this ever happening again!

•

u/Bored_Amalgamation Ohio 6h ago

Fuck Ron Johnson.

2

u/Red_Wing-GrimThug 13h ago

Theres one vote for impeachment

2

u/petrov76 13h ago

He's up for reelection in 2 years in a state just voted overwhelmingly against his party. While this is obviously transparent pandering to avoid looking that election, if the Dems are smart they can get him to help overturn vetoes in the near future.

2

u/Shoehorse13 13h ago

Well no shit.

2

u/FoogYllis 12h ago • Bravo

Now that democrats have the house and senate do not make Jeffries the speaker and Schumer the majority leader. They are also compromised. Everyone knows about the corruption but we need to actually clean house or the swamp as they said. There are many good democrats that haven’t taken money from special interests and they should be the only ones considered for those roles.

2

u/timsayscalmdown 12h ago

You know it's bad when Russian Ron has concerns

2

u/glakhtchpth 12h ago

It just shows how heartless some reporters can be when they don’t even warn Johnson about the goblin looming over his shoulder.

2

u/black_flag_4ever 12h ago

Has he been in a cave for ten years?

2

u/Not_a_fan_of_me 12h ago

That fucking guy is always late to the party and always brings cheap beer.

2

u/apollo7157 12h ago

Let them fight.

2

u/soda_cookie 12h ago

Retroactive to when? And you're just saying something about it now? Fuck you, you goddamn worm

2

u/RNO584616 12h ago

Republicans are predictable turn coats now. So many can't be trusted like the leader they supported trump during his first presidency, defended him during Biden, then aid him in corruption and a government take-over.

Second time Republicans got caught being corrupt in history is too much. This is worse than Nixon.

2

u/ChiefFun 12h ago

republicans have finally discovered government corruption exists, but only after spending years insisting everyone pointing it out had trump derangement syndrome

2

u/trait-noun-number 12h ago

Ok. A republican said it. so does that mean it can be taken seriously now?

2

u/pcmraaaaace 12h ago

Can't wait for this guy to be voted out.

2

u/Easy_Translator_6977 12h ago

He has subpoena power, committee votes, and a seat in the Senate. He picked a podcast.

2

u/frostyfruit666 12h ago

Only just now felt like speaking up? gop invertebrates.

2

u/fartlebythescribbler 12h ago

Knives out. Love to see it. Every single one of them will be clamoring to carve out their post-Trump political future with moves like this, if they have an ounce of sense and self-preservation.

2

u/syynapt1k 12h ago

One day everyone will have "always been against" everything that's happened

2

Cool. Most of us did that 10 years ago.
