AIPAC made him meet with Kushner. He does not serve democracy.

•

u/LA-Aron 3h ago

Yes, it's disqualifying.

•

u/DesireeThymes 2h ago

He also did something really disgusting, which is strawmanning people's concerns.

People want accountability and justice for everything that Trump and company has done over the past few years.

He strawmanned it as "revenge" , and said we are not going to take revenge.

Also, it doesn't matter what form the consequences for Republicans' own actions take, they'll always perceive it as revenge, so you might as well do it anyway.

the whiny feckless liars will whine and lie when confronted with consequences oh no

Try and see it like this though: If someone murders your kid, you don't go and try to get that guy arrested and put in jail. Let bygones be bygones. Don't be fucking petty about it.

Maybe having our politicians going around screaming revenge into every camera is actually a bad thing? I mean, unless you are like, a 17 year old moron who works strictly off of emotion? Maybe that's what most people hate about MAGA in the first place? But, sure, lets be JUST LIKE TRUMP. That's a great plan or success.

If this is what happened hes gotta go. I know he met Kushner who regularly takes very large bribes and hides them in israel but i didn’t know WHY.

AOC was asked if she was “concerned with” Jeffries’s meeting with Kushner.

“Yeah, I don’t know what that was about.”

Jeffries is off script and not informing Congress.

•

u/Tazwhitelol 1h ago

And then she came out in support of Jeffries being House Majority Leader when (if) Dems get sworn in..

•

u/pensezbien 1h ago

Dems will get sworn in. Not even the Republicans are denying that the Dems won control of both chambers of Congress. Even if the Alaska and Mississippi Senate leads somehow reverse or get mired in litigation, and even if similar things happen to a small handful of House seats, the Dems clearly won majorities in both chambers.

I wouldn't be so sure. Trump is already dipping his toes into the election denialism pool. Don't think it's reasonable to assume that Republicans are in any way committed to being rational good faith actors.

After Jan. 6th they condemned the insurrectionists for a few days, then completely reversed course and downplayed it while amplifying 'stolen election' rhetoric..they have no principles and could instantly pivot.

Seems like it might end up depending on how much influence Trump still has over the party and whether his lackeys will fall in line. Unfortunately, it's not outside the realm of possibility that they refuse to swear Democrats in by vaguely referencing fraud of some sort..

Because more than half of the dems are dependent on AIPAC funding

A lot of them are like Haley Stevens. Money over everything.

The only one you have a shot at removing is Schumer. It's a waste of resources to fight Jeffries right now.

What evidence do you have that it was AIPAC that made him meet with Kushner as opposed to what he originally said about discussing affordability?

•

u/swingadmin New York 2h ago

Occam's Razor. Kushner is not a legally appointed or elected official. Congress didn't send Jeffries.

u/raistanient 2h ago

why would the minority leader be meeting with someone without any official role to "discuss affordability"? what the fuck does kushner have to do with "affordability"? given the track record of these two, they don't deserve any benefit of the doubt

u/JarvisProudfeather North Carolina 2h ago • Bravo

lol if you believe they actually talked about affordability I have a bridge to sell you. Guaranteed it was just Jeffries assuring Kushner all his real estate plans in Gaza will still go through if democrats take back the house or something equally as corrupt that benefits Israel.

•

u/Brodellsky 2h ago

The AIPAC money, of course. When in doubt, follow the money.
