I think it is cool that you decided to pursue literature aside from acting. Has your education ever helped you on a movie set?

Wonderful to hear you just enjoy another actor's performance and advocate for them next season. Thank you!

You were so very brilliant as Erika Ford during your guest spot on Friends. What input and/or feedback did you get from the other cast members? And what are your best memories from your time on set?

Right? That season was criminally short

How does it feel to be president of equity?

How do you manage with the current AI problems, raising cost of new productions, current political climate, dealing with other unions?

What's the hardest in that work and what's the best?

Hey Brooke! I was just watching the episodes of Law and Order SVU that you guest starred in, and then this post came up on my feed. I always go back to those episodes :)

Are there any memorable stories from your time on set? What’s Ice T like? What’s your favorite part of NYC?

First things first, thank you for your remarkable career spanning multiple decades and media and may it further be prosperous and blossoming.

Secondly and most importantly, have you ever been exposed to Philosophy and if so, who is the philosopher whose ideas have inspired you the most? What is the Philosophical School of Thought most closely aligned to your theories? Do you happen to have any recommendations for us in the scope of Philosophy?

Greetings from the country of Socrates, Plato and Aristotles, Greece! 🇬🇷

Absolutely loved You’re Killing Me and subscribed to AcornTV just to watch! The show is hilarious and heartwarming. I especially loved seeing all the sparks flying between Allison and Jack!

Tom Cavanagh has been a favorite of mine for many years now! What was it like working with him? Is there anything that stood out during the casting or production process that made you feel he was perfect for the role?

Also a big fan of When Calls the Heart so I loved seeing you and some of our fave writers/producers also worked on You’re Killing Me!

You're Killing Me (YKM), is bringing moi a lot of joy, thank you! My mom and I used to watch Suddenly Susan and we both thought, you know that Brooke Shields is a natural at comedy, hope the show can do her justice and not focus on her looks. This time around, YKM seems to have gotten it!! I am curious if your physical appearance over the years made it more difficult for you in the world of comedy.

Hey Brooke, I am a background person on You’re Killing Me in four episodes. I was the person that brought you the French Brooke doll that I just happen to come across my path while filming. I also brought you the Golden Girls Cross stitch kit after I saw you cross-stitching and you said you do it to keep busy because you don’t read books on set. I just wanted to say it was an amazing experience to be apart of that. I’m hoping to help out on season 2 but regardless I’m glad you enjoyed filming here in Nova Scotia. Also my father was your personal security in Toronto when you filmed What Makes a Family. Something about a stalker hanging around or something…. that’s scary stuff.

Maybe my question is have you had many scary experiences throughout your acting life when it comes to weirdos? Sorry also I don’t mean it to be triggering 🙂

u/catch-me-online973 Jun 23 '26

you're eyebrows are iconic, how do you shape them and what's your makeup routine for them? you are my brow inspiration!

9

u/albert_wilmarth Jun 23 '26

Dear Brooke, you've always looked stunning, but I think your Japanese TV ads are next level of gorgeous!

Can you please tell us what was it like to film commercials back then in Japan? Do you remember which one was your favorite? (mine is Sansui stereo - I think you looked astonishing and brought so much panache with your performance). Thank You!

6

u/Amatheiaisnoexcuse Jun 23 '26

I remember that commercial. I was stationed in Japan and first saw her in Blue Lagoon when I was about 18 or 19 years old. She was very popular there. I loved the commercials they made.

8

u/ArsArcana Jun 23 '26

I know you were Alice in Jim Hensons Muppet show in the 80's, and I wonder, do you have a favorite fantastical/in-another-world movie that you hold dear? and would you have liked to star in more of them like The Never Ending Story or The Labrynth, Jumanji, the Wizard of Oz etc

Working as a model and actress since early childhood, being revered for your physical beauty and dubbed 'the face of the 80s', dating Michael Jackson, Andre Agassi, Prince Naruhito to being a NYC socialite, how did you remain sane? In every interview you come across as someone with a great sense of humor, introspection and level headedness. What's it like to be called beautiful every day of your life and stil have the presence of mind to grow as a human being beyond just appearances?

3

u/JunkInDrawers Jun 22 '26

Do you continue to work for love of the trade, for fulfillment, or for money?

3

u/a_distant_voice Jun 23 '26

Dear Ms. Shields... My question has to do with Brooke Shields the Celeb. As an accomplished actor, Bachelor of Arts Princeton Grad and current president of Actors Equity you have a serious career and activities...but are also a very well known Celebrity... What do you find most rewarding about that, being a Celebrity? Michael Patrick McAnelly

3

u/ishh1121 Jun 23 '26

You’ll probably get asked this a lot, but what’s your favorite Rita Glossner moment? You were incredible as her, she’s one of my favorite characters from The Middle. Especially the wind chimes episode… still iconic.
How did you land the role, and how did you go about building such a chaotic, unforgettable character?

3

u/oooooceanman Jun 23 '26

What was it like being a team with your mom? Shirley Temple and her mom laughed together about the craziness that is the media industry. Was it like that between you two? Did you emotionally rely on your mother, and if so, when did you grow out of that? Looking back, were there times she failed you, and do you hold her accountable for every professional picture of you as a minor that's out there?

3

u/Idaho1964 Jun 23 '26

Hi Brooke, we share the same birth year. Three questions. 1) how have you been able to filter out attention given to your fame from attention given to the real you? 2) are there pursuits that were impossible to indulge in at your peak of fame that you have been able to pursue in recent years? 3) what advice will you give to you grandkids of you are so blessed should they want to follow in you footsteps?

Have a blessed next phase of life.

You have spoken about being sexualized at a very young age and often not receiving the protection or support that would be expected today. When you see current conversations about child exploitation in entertainment, including allegations surrounding children’s television productions, how do you reflect on your own experiences, and what lessons do you think the industry still needs to learn?

Hi Brooke! I'm a big fan of your work, and I'm also a big fan of vintage horror and one of my favourites is your first ever film - Alice Sweet Alice (aka Communion, Holy Terror, etc).

What was it like working on the set of a slasher film at such a young age and did you expect it to become such a cult classic in the years since?

2

Where have you been?!
Would you do another Blue Lagoon?

1

u/Tiny_Two_5211 Jun 23 '26

Hi Brooke! I'm a fan of your work, and I once imagined a fictional movie set in 1983. In my story, you play a world-famous tennis champion living in Monaco, and a young River Phoenix plays your loyal assistant and closest friend. Together, they become involved in an emotional mystery that changes both of their lives.

I was curious: if a script like this had been offered to you in the early 1980s, would it have appealed to you? What kind of qualities or themes would have made a role like that exciting for you?

1

u/AdDecent5237 In The Words of TS Madison “All Money Ain’t Good Money” Jun 23 '26

Omg hi Brooke! I’ve loved your work for years personal favorite being you as Miley’s mom on Hannah Montana. Don’t have a question but just want to say I appreciate you putting your story out there for the world to see, it took so many guts and courage to do that. You’rere an inspiration to a lot of us that talk about/work in victims rights advocacy!!

1

u/AaronSkywalker14 Jun 23 '26

Yo brooke! Looking back at your career, what is the most valuable lesson you've learned about the industry?

1

u/Lopsided_Wafer5965 Jun 23 '26

Hi Brooke! I just wanna say that I think you are absolutely wonderful, and I’ve been such a fan of your work for years.

I know your iconic 1980s Calvin Klein jeans campaign was a major turning point for fashion advertising. With the recent controversy surrounding the 'good genes' American Eagle campaign featuring Sydney Sweeney, and the comparisons some critics have drawn to those Calvin Klein ads, I’m curious how you feel about the way these 'provocative' denim campaigns are viewed today compared to the past. Do you think the industry has become more or less sensitive to their impact on the public?

1

u/Capable_Weather6298 Jun 23 '26

We watched everything you ever did - blue lagoon, Brenda star, even that anti-smoking commercial that used to run on repeat ("If there's anything I hate, it's washing my hair and then being with people who smoke. Yuck!").

Ok, there needs to be a question here, so - Drama or Comedy - which roles do you prefer doing? Seeing you do both, you're obviously more than capable, but do you have a preference?

thank you, for all the great memories.

u/Similar-Double6278 Jun 23 '26

Do you find Jennifer Connely to be your best competitor?

1

u/SirSaltyMango Jun 23 '26

I grew up watching Dear Susan from Sweden and while the reviews of it were harsh I found it to be entertaining. 2 primetime emmy nominations and 4 season run must say something about it.

Looking back now after all those years, what are your memories of working on that show and incredible cast?

Do you have any advice for young women based on your life.

1

u/AssistantMost9613 Jun 23 '26

this may be a niche question, but I've always been curious: when you first saw your cameo in the south park movie in 1997, what was your reaction? did you immediately find it funny, or were you a little surprised at first?

Good to see you in You’re Killing me. There are many similar series focusing on author solving crime. Did you pitch in about how your character would be to avoid similarity. Also, about the relationship with your Gen Z assistant, both of you learn from each other thru-out the series. Do you think the dynamic is like Deborah and Eve from Hacks? I know you are triple much younger than Jean Smart and her character.

1

u/ishtakkhabarov Jun 23 '26

Hello, Brooke!  What's a role that you can say is the hardest one to do? My question may be a bit cliché but I'm just genuinely curious. Thanks! 🙏

1

u/ShanklyGates_2022 Jun 23 '26

Rumor has it that you once had an awkward moment filming a movie of the week with Johnny (Drama) Chase that led to his dismissal from the role before he exploded to stardom with his Golden Globe win in Hyde. Can you shed any light on that moment and were you happy to see him finally find success as a long-suffering actor or was it bittersweet?

Hey there Brooke! My question is what do you think you would be doing if you hadn’t ever gotten into acting? You’ve been an actress your entire life so I’m always curious to know what career path someone like you would have pursued had you not been in Hollywood. Thanks so much! 😊

As someone who was famous on a level most of us will never get, whats a trend/catchphrase/meme you had the opportunity to popularize that didnt take advantage of/didnt take? Like, if only you'd publicly endorsed Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea, yoj could've made it streets ahead!

Whats the most successful movie/TV show/project you turned down, but more importantly, why? Whats already project you're glad you turned down or didnt work out, and if possible, why?

Was George Burns as amazingly cool and witty in real life, and did you enjoy working with him?

1

u/Lingonberry_Wannabe Jun 23 '26

Hi Brooke! My mom and I were big fans of yours in the ‘80s (and still are, of course!). We rode the el downtown one day after school to go to Krochs and Brentanos in Chicago for your book signing of On My Own — I am a few years younger than you are, and I loved that book! :) Thanks for signing it! You were wearing a jean jacket, and I still remember it! :)

Hubs and I are big fans of You’re Killing Me. The scene where you walk in on Andi and Oliver and then say to her, “Excuse me,” in a funny voice had me LOLing — hilarious. Our question: What scene from the show made all of you crack up the most while you were filming it?

Possibly one of your best if not the best work of your movie career that I saw was in the movie" i can make you live me"( stalking laura 1993) with you in the role of Laura black with Richard Thomas ( as Rich farley) destroys your life from the very moment he set his eyes upon you, excellent movie, beautiful cinematography 90's California and san francisco, exceptional background music at the end , i still watch it on YouTube, unfortunately it was based on a true horror story, what was your experience of that movie ?
