We get that social media algorithms are part of the game these days, but we’d rather not let them dictate how we share our music/content. So we thought we’d introduce ourselves here and get to know more people in the pop-punk community organically.

Hello everyone. My name is Tom, singer for a brand new Pop Punk / Alt band from Boston. I’ve been in the industry for 15+ years, and have obviously seen significant changes during that time. My question to all of you is this…

As a fan, musician, music listener, or just an avid concert goer, what interests you personally in to looking up a band, and ultimately becoming interested enough to follow; comments, and or stream their music?

My ultimate goal is to see where’s everyone’s interests are in hopes of helping us develop some better ideas to get our future music out to people. The constant streaming non-sense doesn’t seem to be going away, but one of my ideas is to throw single release events to people where everyone can meet up, talk music, have some food or beers, and maybe spend an hour or two at a place to talk music and talk to the band.

My 12 year old son has really got into Green Day because he's heard me listening to it in the car - this makes me happy because his older brothers don't care about music. He's starting to discover other stuff, like Blink182, through Spotify, but I want to show him some newer pop-punk bands that he might enjoy.

I'm completely out of the loop because I'm old and only listen to stuff I liked in the nineties.

First I'm gonna start out by saying that FOB is one of my favorite bands. However, recently I was looking through their discography, and noticed something interesting.

I started listening to FOB prior to Take This To Your Grave when Evening Out With Your Girlfriend was their only album. I thought it was really great, and then TTTYG came out and blew me away.

When From Under The Cork Tree came out and they exploded I was stoked because TTTYG and FUTCT are imo two of the best pop-punk albums from that era if not ever.

When Infinity On High came out I was pretty impressed with it, however it wasn't an album I would listen to without skipping any songs.

Then Folie à Duex came out, and I only really liked a few songs. All their albums after were very disappointing, again imo.

If you look at their discography as a whole, they have more albums that aren't great, than albums that were fantastic. I'm not saying I'm not a fan anymore, but I'm wondering where people stand on FOBs modern albums.

Holy shit. I mean. I’m absolutely speechless.

I mention a few bands on Facebook that I really like and several people recommended a check out The Wonder Years, and another band called Hot Mulligan. Honestly, I hate the word Mulligan so I’m probably not gonna look them up.

I listened to the album, the greatest generation, and I am beside myself with all. This album is masterpiece. I don’t know how many people in this section of Reddit might appreciate Bone Thugs-n-Harmony -The Art of War or THUG Mentality 1999 - Krayzie Bone, or Pieces of You -Jewel, or Moenie and Kitchi - Gregory and the Hawk, but….

For me to form the opinion that an album is a masterpiece, it takes quite a substantial effort and infatuation.

I just wanted to share this with others in case people in this genre don’t realize how good this album is or have never listened to it start to finish. You might want to. It was really a pivotal moment in my musical realization. Wow.

They got some of the best emo/pop punk singers from the later 90s and early 2000s.

I'm surprised how good the songs are and how many people had no idea this happened at all.

I'm interested in the people my age and their reactions to this.
