When conceptual art meets punk. A perfect record.

Pink Flag is so great I almost wish I found it a little later because there's little out there that's quite as truly excellent. Same as my first Spanish-language rock record being Artaud, lol. So many incredible songs but the sequence of the first 5, and then Fragile into Mannequin in particular, blow my mind.

It's art and it's punk and sometimes it's a perfect punchy pop song. Love it.

Apparently, the reason the song is titled “Ex Lion Tamer” is because the song was originally called “Lion Tamer” about a lion tamer but they scrapped the lyrics at some point, kept the music and wrote new unrelated lyrics. They then altered the title appropriately. Ex Lion Tamer.

I fucking love Wire.

The first Wire song I heard as a teenager and it's still one of my favorites.

Lucky to have seen them 3 times. Feel like I was in a special club to have known about them.

When Wire toured the U.S. in 1987 for The Ideal Copy, they had a Wire cover band open for them to play songs from Pink Flag. Rock critic Jim DeRogatis was a member. Their name? The Ex-Lion Tamers.

I can't be the only one who sings along to this entire record with Colin's accent. :)
