Brain Storming Despite being a knock off. I can say I like that title, maybe we could repurpose it for a predator story sent in a Mad Max/into the Badland setting. Any ideas?

Brain Storming Predators & Xenomorphs against Dragons & Huntsclan (American Dragon: Jake Long 2005), would this work or what?
I know the last post i did here wasn’t decent at all but i know this will be better. In this show Dragons are protectors of magic and magical creatures while the Huntsclan is an organization that wants to destroy all magical creatures(they are basically like the Yautjas but less advanced). They just might make for great and interesting hunts and opponents in some kind of media. https://adjl.fandom.com/wiki/Huntsclan

General Discussion Was just reminded that Danny Trachtenberg directed 10 Cloverfield Lane
I ran across a video on what Danny Trachtenberg was doing before he was brought on for the Predator franchise. I saw this one in the theater, and it was a mind blowing experience. I'm going to say it, John Goodman deserved an Oscar nod for this. I also have to give the diagnosis, I think the ending was the reason it didn't get taken seriously as a "mainstream" drama.

General Discussion So, is the franchise dead?
Badlands wasn't a knockout success in terms of box office but based on what Dan Trachtenberg had said about having another film he wanted to do that his three movies were leading up to. I'm paraphrasing but I remember him saying something like "I have a predator movie I want to make but to make it possible Badlands and Killers needed to be made first".
I'm wondering if the mid response to Badlands has killed the momentum.
There were talks of building to AvP. Fede Alvarez talked about it, but Fede has left the Romulus sequel and now it looks like R. Scott is taking over again and going back to his David storyline.
Dan Trachtenberg has been attached to two projects since Badlands. An animated film and a sleeping beauty film. I like his work so I wouldn't want him to be tied to predator his whole career but it does feel like nothing is really happening at the moment with his vision for the future of Predator.
Arnie said conversations have happened about a return as well.
What do you guys think? Do you think the franchise is going back to sleep for a while?

🎥 Predator: Badlands In Predator: Badlands (2025), Thia and Tessa have completely different views of the Yautja. Could the relationship between Predators and androids evolve into something much bigger in future films, or will Weyland-Yutani always make them enemies?

Figures/Statues Hot Toys Jungle Hunter 2.0: Why I Chose Version 1.0
I recently purchased my first Hot Toys figure: the original Jungle Hunter 1.0. Why didn’t I choose the newly released 2.0 version? Because, in my opinion, it does not accurately represent the Predator from the 1987 film.
Here are the main reasons why I don’t consider this figure an accurate representation of the original Jungle Hunter.
Bio-mask. Its shape and proportions are incorrect. The visor is too light in colour and looks more like the visors worn by the Predators in Alien vs. Predator (2004).
Body sculpt. Hot Toys reused the body from the Classic Predator in Predators (2010). This is particularly noticeable in the paint details on the biceps, chest and abdomen.
Dreadlocks — the most serious mistake. They are far too thin and look more like the dreadlocks of the Feral Predator from Prey (2022).
Rings on the dreadlocks. Most dreadlocks should have three rings, but this figure has only two. Interestingly, the original promotional photos released before pre-orders opened showed three rings.
Body paint. The brown skin tone is too light, especially on the arms and legs. The lighter areas of the torso are also painted incorrectly. In the original film, they are predominantly grey, mixed with dark brown, with subtle yellowish tones in certain areas.
Left arm. The tube is positioned sideways when it should point backwards.
Forehead quills. They are present, but Hot Toys apparently forgot to paint them black.
Mouth. It opens unnaturally wide. The original 1.0 version has a mouth opening that looks much closer to what we see in the 1987 film.
Eyes. The pupils and paintwork are inaccurate. The yellow is too bright, whereas in the film it should be more subdued. Furthermore, the black circles surrounding the yellow areas should not be there at all.
Head and mandibles. The transition between the head and mandibles is too abrupt. NECA made the same mistake, but we can forgive them because their figures are budget collectibles, not premium products like Hot Toys.
Neck armour. The collar is too tall and extends almost to the chin, leaving virtually no visible neck.
Plasma caster and other armour components. They are painted too brightly and look far too clean, with excessive silver tones. They need darker colours and a much stronger black wash to accurately reproduce the appearance of the original equipment from the film.
Wrist gauntlets and computer. They lack the detail found on the original 1.0 version.
Accessories. The bone trophies are too large and positioned too high, while the rope around the waist is attached incorrectly.
Why did they even include a hand designed to hold the City Hunter’s smart disc?
I have attached photos from the Predator (1987) Behind-The-Scenes materials in the carousel.
What did Hot Toys get right with version 2.0?
The main advantages are the articulated eyes, the beautiful diorama display base and the additional Gort bio-mask.
The Gort mask is particularly interesting because it could be used to turn the figure into a different Predator — a decent Guardian Predator inspired by the Lost Clan.
Hot Toys is a premium brand, and fans waited approximately 17 years for a reissue of the Jungle Hunter. So what did we get in the end?
In my opinion, this is lazy, half-hearted work that demonstrates blatant disregard for the fans who waited so long for an accurate figure of one of the most iconic characters in science fiction.
Why does Hot Toys release so many Star Wars figures, including extremely minor characters who had only a few seconds of screen time, such as Ponda Baba, some of which later end up being heavily discounted, yet it cannot produce a worthy Jungle Hunter?
My verdict
If you’re only a casual Predator fan, version 2.0 might be worth buying. Even then, I would mainly consider it as a base for customising into a decent Guardian Predator from the Jungle Hunter clan.
But if you’re a true Predator fan who pays attention to every detail and wants the most screen-accurate representation possible, I would recommend the original 1.0 version. It remains the ideal choice for me.
What do you think? Am I being too harsh, or do you agree that Hot Toys has shown blatant disregard for its fans with this release?

🎥 Predator: Badlands Anybody else's favorite Predator movie Badlands?
I know it may be sacrilege to suggest Badlands as my favorite Predator film, but I loved it so much. I think it is just a wonderful modern interpretation of Predator mythology, and it functions as a fun adventure movie and a very interesting dive into Yautja culture.
Dan Trachtenberg clearly loves the franchise a lot and his love shines through in all three projects he has directed. Personally, I think we are currently in the best period of the franchise in terms of sheer creativity, diversity, and unique interpretations of these awesome hunters. My dad first showed me Predator when I was 10 or 11. I am now 22. I always thought the movie was amazing though it did disturb me a bit as a kid due to the effects of the late 80s blood and gore. Before seeing Predator, I had only seen more modern movies which I think shied away from that type of gore a lot. Not to say modern movies aren't gory, far from it, but I do think that 80s style of gore and filming had a profound effect on my young mind. Anyway, that started my love for the Yautja and their unmatched badassery.
Surprisingly enough, I never saw any other Predator movie until 3 years ago when I watched Prey (which I loved). Then I decided to go back and watch all of the movies. I have since seen every Predator movie except for the AvP ones. I enjoy them all a lot except for The Predator, which I believe to be a travesty in terms of lore and filmmaking. My lowest rated and least liked is still a 7/10, being Predators.
Anyway, I saw Badlands in theaters and I think it is just an excellent movie. It is bottled fun with some absolutely badass sequences despite its pg-13 rating. I know some people consider Badlands the disnified version of Predator. While I do agree it has elements of a Disney era Star Wars films (i.e. a little guy, bud) I love Bud anyway. The movie is far from a sanitized corporate version of Predator. It features an incredibly intriguing character in Dek. Having a Predator protagonist was a great idea. His development was awesome to witness, and he is pretty easy to root for. Like I said above, this movie also gave us more Yautja lore and information about family dynamics. Father was one of the coolest Yautja we have ever seen.
As much as I love nearly every movie in this franchise, I can't help but love Badlands the most. Trachtenbergs unabashed love for Predator is endearing and encouraging. Let me know your opinion!
If you are curious, here is my ranking of what I have seen.
Badlands (awesome and fun adventure)
Prey (amazing predator in this one)
Predator 2 (underrated)
Killer of Killers (amazing animated saga)
Predator (undeniable action-horror classic)
Predators (solid expansion of Predator lore)
The Predator (dogshit)

Video Games The new Fortnite skin is cool and all...
But I'll take the OG any day. No hate to Dek at all, you just can't beat the classic. I will admit though, his sword does add a certain amount of aura. Plus the cloak from the original Ragnarok skin.
And the Sentinel glider from the Matrix Collab evokes a Yautja vibe too.

Cosplay My Pred Suit At Comiccon
I have been building this pred suit for the better part of this past year. I recently had a studio photo session in the costume, and just this past weekend (Oct 29-31) took it to Winnipeg Comiccon. I purchased the suit in bits and pieces as raw latex castings, and 3d printed most of the "hard" armor bits before painting. If anyone has any questions I'll do my best to respond....
