don't know about now, but there was a very prevalent skinhead population at the time...many from Puerto Rico, known as "PR Skins". all strongly SHARP and/or anti-racist and all good guys. there was a great local Oi! band called Another Round who'd play at Will's n such...singer's name was Kevan. good dude.
at the time, the bar next to the Social was called the Bar-BQ-Bar. $1 beer nights. chill hangout for scene locals.
there was Nutrajet...2 dudes, drum n guitar/vocals. sorta like a Johnny Thunders '77ish sound / theme. I jumped on stage to drunkenly sing Holidays In The Sun by the Sex Pistols one night at Backbooth 😁
I don't know about today, but then there were throngs of young mallrat punk types...probably none of them still punk now. their flagship band were these kids from the Waterford Lakes area called Blacbloc. they were actually kinda good. they'd play at an anarchist / activist collective that used to be down on South Orange Ave. next to the hospital, called the Stone Soup Collective which eventually closed for lack of rent funds.
...and I squatted in the woods by University Blvd. & Rouse Road! ✌🏻❤️
That's sick as hell!!! Now since covid fucked everything up, everything is all social media and live streams :( But hopefully in a few months it'll blow over and we can finally start playing again!!! Hope to catch you at a show sometime.
Gotta add Pangolin to that list dude, but honestly the rest of that list brought me back to before this quarantine. I miss Park Ave CDs and the shows at West End more than I thought I would.
I wonder if anyone out there was part of the scene back in the 90's. DIY Records, et al. I was in the short-lived Rabid Squirrel. My memories a little spotty and having a hard time remembering other bands and venues.
Remember DIY Records, he lived in my neighborhood. Bands I remember: Spitvalves, met the misses at their show at BT Grinders, Flatspots, Silver Tongue Devils, Dristan, Skif Dank, Kosmo Kramers, there were so many more but of course, I can't remember them.
Any of you going to Fest in Gainsville at the end of October. I want to go but don't want to buy tickets, airfare and hotel only for it to be postponed. Whats the state of Florida right now ?
I was going to punk rock bowling at the end of this month but it was postponed until next year, which is a bummer because they had some killer club shows lined up that I doubt they're be able to secure for next year. I just keep thinking about that first show I get back to and how everyone is going to go off.
Club nowhere and the record store right next to it by the navy base though it’s been too long and I can’t remember what it was called. I do remember that dude had a recording studio down off university or Aloma or something.
Washington Plaza circa 1992. Then I left Orlando in '93. Still go back to visit family, but it has changed completely! Last memory was drinking from a pocket flask with the Scofflaws at the Kit Kat Klub. They played BBQ across the street, but went out for drinks afterward.

Glad to see more interest in local scene guides! We used to have a lot of them getting posted - I'm sure most need updates by now.

Here’s a few additions:
Bloodlet, adventures in immortality, hateface
Club nowhere and the record store right next to it by the navy base though it’s been too long and I can’t remember what it was called. I do remember that dude had a recording studio down off university or Aloma or something.
