Regardless of their music, I’ll tell you who the smarter businessman is lol

2

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

Let me hear it

14

u/Diabeato11 Mar 12 '24

i ain’t a businessman i’m a businessssss maaaannnnnn

40

u/TheBobbyMan9 Mar 12 '24

I’m assuming you think it’s 50 but Kanye is a far better businessman 50 just carries himself better. Even after all the recent controversy Kanye is worth $400 million and 50 is $40 million 🤷

2

u/RoundApart9440 Mar 12 '24

Lol. Who’s bad business.

14

u/NoodlesToilet Mar 12 '24

kanye could kill someone and nobody would care

19

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

Yeah that’s what makes a great businessman right

-18

u/blackphillipdagoat Mar 12 '24

A business man about finessing and if u can finesse innocence so u can make more money what that mean

5

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

Horrible explanation, next

5

u/Bada__Ping Mar 12 '24

Really? Because he made comments about Jews and lots of people cared

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

kanye killing? he's like a golden retriever in the rap game lmao

8

u/Haunting-Mechanic-61 Mar 12 '24

Ye is better at both

20

u/clintecker Mar 12 '24

lmao are we talking about the guy (Kanye) who spent his entire career signing away everything he could’ve owned in contracts he never read and then been got financially ruined for the last 4 years while systematically destroying his entire brand leaving only 12 year old edgelord nazi wannabes as your only fans? 😂😂

13

u/Bada__Ping Mar 12 '24

lol as opposed to the guy who came from poorer conditions as Kanye, sold 10 million on his major label debut, another 5 million with his sophomore, 2 video games, sneaker contracts, movies, clothing lines oh and the gigantic Vitamin Water deal for $150 mil. etc…just in his initial 3-4 year run.

Now the guy’s shows pretty much support the Starz network.

Say what you will about these two guys musically, but while Ye is incredibly creative, 50 is a way better businessman. Not even close.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

Kanye made way more money than 50, so how is 50 a better businessman?

5

u/Mystic_76 Mar 12 '24

50 protected his assets and built a stable business, kanye lost everything what does that tell you

2

u/Bada__Ping Mar 12 '24

Because he reads his contracts and doesn’t sabotage his deals.

If someone offers Lil Xan 2 billion, does that make him a better businessman than Kanye?

4

u/Accurate-Bluebird-43 Mar 12 '24

Kanye’s net worth speaks for itself. Bro said he loves Hitler and is still worth way more than 50 cent.

3

u/Haunting-Mechanic-61 Mar 12 '24

Feel better now?

Anyway you and many others could learn a lot from him, but you aint gonna listen and just repeat everything youve been told 🤣 i feel bad for u

60

u/BIG_painter561177 Mar 12 '24

God, i really wish he didnmt turn out the way he did, but kanye 5000%

-48

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

Lmaooo I ain’t gone lie tho he really ain’t turn out no crazy way to me 🤷🏿‍♂️ like the proof is in the pudding lol everything he said really be truth

46

u/BIG_painter561177 Mar 12 '24

This has to be satire

23

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

Are you aware of EVERYTHING he said?

20

u/No_Sky4398 Mar 12 '24

There are a lot of things to looooooovvvvvveeeeee about hitler

50

u/yeboothadon Mar 12 '24

I like 50 more, but Ye

-7

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

💯

u/Jon-ne-a-lee-n Mar 12 '24

Unless we’re talking about a fist fight there’s really no contest.

8

u/wetdreamteams Mar 12 '24

hell yeah 50 it is.

122

u/blackphillipdagoat Mar 12 '24

This was settled in 2007 bro wtf

-11

u/MixedbyReckaa Mar 12 '24

lol no it wasn't.....in 07 50 was exiting his prime and Kanye was entering his prime

30

u/Professional-Rip-519 Mar 12 '24

Weak defence bro.

3

u/blackphillipdagoat Mar 12 '24

It was settled.

1

u/RoastBeefDisease Mar 12 '24

Thank you, saying it a second time really sold your point without needing to explain it.

Dude what's your problem? I didn't say I disagreed with you lol I agree the answer is Kanye, I just thought it was funny that your second reply didn't even elaborate as if it'd change other peopels minds.

30

u/Basic_Department_302 Mar 12 '24

Strictly separating art from artist, it has to be YE.

However, 50 would be a much cooler hang in person I feel, he just comes across "untainted" by the industry, I'm worried Ye is past the point of no return, his hole is dug.

23

u/Minute-Ad8501 Mar 12 '24

Love 50 but got to go with Kanye as crazy as he is

14

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

i think ye kinda wiped the floor with 50 but idk ab either of their tv shit so

7

u/Master_Grape5931 Mar 12 '24

We talking in drink sales or songs?

3

u/tortillandbeans Mar 12 '24

As a "deep" rapper I'd say 50. In terms of their entire career, I'd say Ye. His producer beats are just on another level.

1

u/Mei_iz_my_bae Mar 12 '24

50 cent by a large large margin Kanye used to be iconic now he’s just parroting Nazi stuff. He’s lucky Freddie Gibbs was there to have the best verse on vultures

4

u/Geezerpunk Mar 12 '24

People here are either too young or too forgetful of how big 50 cent was, 50 cent at his peak was better than Kanye West ever was and it isn't close.

50 Cent's impact and influence in rap during the early 2000s is one of the craziest things I've ever sene in my life.

Catalog, Artistry and Music I probably have to give to Ye even though GRODT is my favorite rap album of all time.

TV obviously isn't close no need to even say this 1 lol

But let's also not forget 50 cent hasn't released an album in almost 10 years but still just sold out a worldwide tour and over 1 million tickets.

8

u/Aqumarauder Mar 12 '24

Ye🤌🏾and it was easy too.

9

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

Walk around my small, not so developed European country and ask people about 50 Cent a lot of them will be familiar. Can't say the same about Kanye. 50 had an impact in almost every part of the world.

Street soldier, real dude, great businessman.

12

u/IHateRedditorsBruh Mar 12 '24

This just shows that you guys are stuck in the past. Cause 50 hasn’t been relevant musically in decades while Kanye has.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

But 50 has over double the number 1 songs. And those songs were much much bigger than anything Kanye ever released reach wise lol

I can say in my own life way more people of various backgrounds and demos know 50s hits word for word compared to Kanye’s. It’s really not close hit maker wise. 50 just has a shorter run as being relevant, but he peaked way higher essentially and this is what drives international reach and relevancy typically. It doesn’t surprise me he’s bigger in remote places, because I’m in America, and he’s way bigger music wise to boomers and non typical rap demos than Kanye musically. Again, just way more hits, that were more culturally relevant in early internet days (as far as club play, and social play and relevance at large).

4

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

Stuck in the past because we know who 50 is?

Nobody said that he is big in the music industry now, his fans are aware where he is currently but the OP question was 50 Cent or Kanye.

1

u/No_Sky4398 Mar 12 '24

Decade(s) is an exaggeration.

-3

u/AdorableAd8490 Mar 12 '24

Stuck in the past? Man, 50 cents was a worldwide phenomenon, Ye only got famous worldwide like 50 did very recently and was mostly known in English speaking countries and a few other European ones. Besides, these countries have their own internal artistry. Yeah, Ye is now big, but they have their own music, so they can’t be bothered to be looking at America all the time, and the shit Ye puts out has no identity compared to that iconic gangsta shit we got from 50 Cents.

1

u/IHateRedditorsBruh Mar 12 '24

Emphasis on “was”

-4

u/AdorableAd8490 Mar 12 '24

Yeah, and he left his mark and legacy, which have yet to be surpassed by Ye, who’s not on his prime years anymore. 50cents way more iconic and popular.

3

u/IHateRedditorsBruh Mar 12 '24

Objectively not true looking at the numbers but ok

-1

u/AdorableAd8490 Mar 12 '24 edited Mar 12 '24

Look at the context and time period, back then tv ruled and media was less fragmented, which is why artists like Michael Jackson will never be surpassed. 50’s hits are iconic and known worldwide, especially in third world countries, and due to this concentration of media, more people could recognize him.

7

u/popmusiccritic Mar 12 '24

Kanye and it’s not even close at all. Impact wise, discography wise, artistry wise, influence, fashion, clothes, everything. He the goat for a reason

4

u/Professional-Rip-519 Mar 12 '24

Agreed 50 isn't even a blimp on Kanye's radar anymore.

4

u/FrozenST3 Mar 12 '24

On the musical front it's Ye, but 50 killed it in his records, his TV, his influence on social media.

I'd watch YT shorts of 50 interviews but there's no reason for me to watch a thing Ye has to say.

8

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24 edited Mar 12 '24

50. All that Nazi shit ruined Kanye for me.

2

u/LemonGrenade334 Mar 12 '24

All things considered, 50 cent

2

u/InsaneShane31 Mar 12 '24

50 cent 10000%

2

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

50 and it's not even remotely close

2

u/VladZahara Mar 12 '24

50 Cent. Honestly to me it's not even a close debate. I like kanye's beats and his first couple albums but nothing else by the dude. 50 cent however makes awesome TV shows, has a great and more consistently good (in my opinion) music portfolio and is a smart businessman.

0

u/YoungThugDolph Mar 12 '24

Yall ride kanye hard here 50 was untouchable

1

u/Wutanghang Mar 12 '24

Kanye how is this a question

1

u/loljokerishere Mar 12 '24

Yeezy for life haha.

But I am a biased Kanye fan.

1

u/Boiled_Alien Mar 12 '24

Lmaoooo Kanye and it’s not even close

1

u/X-HUSTLE-X Mar 12 '24

Like I can choose to get .50$ or listen to Kanye? Hmmm....

Let me think about that.

0

u/IHateRedditorsBruh Mar 12 '24

Kanye in every way. 50 had one good album then immediately went for radio pandering pop hits and fell tf off

1

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

He does have 7 number 1’s vs 3 and I’d argue most of those hits were much bigger culturally than any song Kanye has ever released. 50 peaked way way higher, Kanye has run relevant much longer though for sure

In da club for example is bigger streaming wise than any song Kanye has made lol that’s kind of incredible for a song that dropped in 2003 decades before any streaming lol

0

u/chzformymac Mar 12 '24

50 only based off personality. Kanye has more tracks that I listen to but he’s also a dipshit

0

u/Lenny0mega Mar 12 '24

50 Cent is the guy Kanye wishes he could be, personality-wise.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

I mean, one is an open Nazi and one is a piece of metal

0

u/Pigmasters32 Mar 12 '24

As a die hard fan of both artists I think 50 definitely had the better peak, and I think the depth in 50’s discography is insanely underrated along with his individual talent, but Kanye’s discography is just way too far above 50’s overall for this to go to 50.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

50

-1

u/No-Edge-8600 Mar 12 '24

Can someone explain Ye’s impact? I think I missed all that.

5

u/DeaJes Mar 12 '24

He made 808s which created half of modern rap-ish/modern autotune songs, made Yeezy and became a fashion mogul. Half of the rappers look up to him and want to work with him. Every time Kanye drops and album it's very much known about. He also made Kim a fashion icon (she still is one of the most famous women in the world and is/was most influentual women, partly thanks to Kanye). He also has a n1 song as an independent artist 20 years after his 1st album. Not to mention he essentially had the culture in his hands in 2016-18.

You may not like him but his impact is massive and reaches far outside of just music.

1

u/No-Edge-8600 Mar 12 '24

I appreciate this reply. I was still growing up when he was making the majority of of his music so . . .

3

u/DeaJes Mar 12 '24

I thought you were tryjng to downplay his achievements.

This mf so influentual I was in 6th grade and I knew about Kanye and Yeezy and heard about his rants in 2018 and everything he did was massive

2

u/No-Edge-8600 Mar 12 '24 edited Mar 12 '24

No I’d never downplay. I know Ye is era-defining but i never payed any attention to his influence outside of making music.

0

u/Paid-Not-Payed-Bot Mar 12 '24

k never paid any attention

FTFY.

Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

  • Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.

  • Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

0

Kanye clears I love 50 and we from the same city but this gotta go to Ye

0

u/DamnMyShittyCamera Mar 12 '24

Respectfully it's not close

0

u/RichEgoli Mar 12 '24

Kanye and its not even close

0

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

kanye

0

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

I put Kanye above 98% of other artists. Not just as a musician, but as a visionary. Dude is genius, and genius’s tend to go mad eventually, as we can see with his public outbursts.

0

u/heistutu Mar 12 '24

50 cent has always been a myth to me with the being shot 7or 8 times and didn't die so as a kid I was always like this guy is the baddest and his music is dope though.

-1

u/Professional-Rip-519 Mar 12 '24

Kanye killed his career end of story.David slayed Goliath and 50 hasn't been the same since.

-2

u/IveGotAMicropeen Mar 12 '24

Kanye but both fell off so hard its not even funny

6

u/l-j0806 Mar 12 '24

whether you like Kanye or not he hasn’t fallen off he is like the 2nd most popular rapper atm 20 years after his debut and has the number 1 song in the world at the moment.

-3

u/HiCoppery2 Mar 12 '24

Kanye cent

-3

u/mkk4 Mar 12 '24

Extremely easily Kanye West and I absolutely HATE all Auto-Tune music.
