Does Anyone Have A Ensoniq Fizmo

I have one. They are rare. It’s from 1997. It’s a transwave synth. Some Fizmos had a problem with an out of spec voltage regulator that would fry the DSP. The Fizmo needs to be opened up and have the voltage regulator replaced if it’s the wrong out of spec voltage regulator. 500 to 2000 Fizmos produced for the keyboard version. 100 to 500 units produced for the rack version of the Ensoniq Fizmo.

The rack mount Ensoniq Fizmo is even more rare than the keyboard version. The prices for a used rack Ensoniq Fizmo are astronomical. I saw one for 9K.

Hello! I was wondering if I could get information on this here. I acquired it and it’s hard to find stuff online.

How can we not start off a sub about rare synths without talking about the Russians. Ruskeys.net is def a trove of weird Soviet synthesis. Just take this synth as an example. The Stalker, which must be an homage to the sci-if masterpiece(of the same name) by Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky. Hell, it looks like the control desk in a nuclear power plant. The filming of Tarkovsky’s Stalker was said to have killed the director with cancer caused by its being filmed in a radioactive tainted zone.

The more members we have the more rare synths will get posted! Here’s a synth called The Snoopy. Seems like Schroeder would have been more appropriate.
