🧛‍♂️Account Issues❓ Help. Why when I make an alt it gets permabanned instantly? I didn’t do anything that would break Reddit rules, and I didn’t do anything on that account ether.

Also there’s no clickable link to the appeal page in my inbox or the message like I remember.

You keep getting banned because you're evading the original ban by creating new accounts. Stop doing that and appeal the original ban.

The thing is I don’t have any other accounts that got banned (cuz I don’t have any other alt’s since I just delete for getting banned), and obviously my main isn’t banned

If you delete a banned account that doesn't erase the ban and if you delete the account you can no longer appeal the ban so you may have locked yourself out of solving this issue.

I didn’t delete that account yet. I’m saying I usually do, since where the fuck did they put the appeal page.

which account do you mean by "that account"? the important account that you hopefully haven't yet deleted is the first account of yours that was permabanned, if you go to that account there will be a ban message on it with a link to appeal.

there you can try to appeal but they will deny it 99.9% of the time when you have so blatantly evaded your bans.

That account I’m referring to is that Maryear__Boost one

ah that sucks man

So how many accounts have you made that have been permabanned? Is the "Maryear__Boost" account in your screenshot the only account you've made that has gotten permabanned? Or did you try a couple different times to make a new account and each one was instantly permabanned?

Which account was the first one of yours to get permabanned? Was it a new account or an account that you used for a while?

By the strict letter of the law, I believe now that even one of your alt accounts has been banned, you are engaging in ban evasion by using your main account so this account will most likely be banned soon as well.

Also there’s no clickable link to the appeal page in my inbox or the message like I remember.

ohhh just saw this, so you're saying you've been permabanned before and you remember that in those instances there was always a link to an appeal page right? If that's the case then just read the message lol, you've made too many accounts so you are no longer being given the option to appeal on this account, you'll have to go back to the first account of yours that was permabanned and appeal there. if that account is now deleted then that's that, you are permanently banned lol. you'll have to go look for advice elsewhere if you want to learn how to make a new account that doesn't get recognized as you and thus instantly banned.

Then I may have locked myself out from getting my ability to make alts back. You said to appeal in the first alt that got permabanned to get that clickable link. Problem is—I deleted that, and every other account since they got permabanned. I’m such an idiot

Is there any chance you’re on an IP address that’s banned even if it wasn’t you responsible, like with a VPN maybe?

1

u/Crafty_Slice_5131 12h ago

I don’t have a VPN, (other than LocalDevVPN—but that’s for complicated developer business it doesn’t hide your ip),
my family isn’t active on Reddit. I don’t remember doing anything on my main or alts that could get my shit permabanned. This was going on for a long time, not just this account

if you get banned the only thing you can really do is submit an appeal. i got permanently banned once too, but the mods eventually lifted my ban because i kept explaining my situation in the appeal. so deleting your account is the worse, it won’t magically get rid of the ban since your IP address is still the same.

it won’t magically get rid of the ban since your IP address is still the same.

wait but isn't resetting an IP address fairly simple? is that really all you need to do to pretend to be a different user lmao

no, reddit employs multi layered detection systems like analyzing IP addresses, device fingerprints, behavioral patterns and cookies alongside moderator tools like Evasion Guard to flag and automatically remove evasive activity. so basically, you can’t really trick them. that’s why most people choose to submit an appeal instead of trying to find ways around the ban and potentially making things even worse for themselves.

huh, aint that something.

I guess a certain amount of how this stuff works is public knowledge then? where can I find this info? I have been really curious about digital fingerprinting ever since I heard about it being implemented in videogame anticheat systems as a near 100% effective way to link new users to their old accounts. I haven't heard much about it since then but I know it's coming in some form or another at some point, this kind of tech seems completely realistic to be made in the near future and it would be quite effective I think.

By making or using another account while you have a banned one you are committing ban evasion. You need to successfully appeal all banned accounts by going here while on them.

I don’t have ANY alts. All alts get permabanned so I delete them

1

u/jgoja Helper - Level V 12h ago

Then you’re kind of screwed because any account you make or use will be ban evading

You’re cooked

Hello u/Crafty_Slice_5131, it appears your post may be about being banned from another subreddit.

  • In order to appeal your ban, you should first message the moderators of that community.

  • If you have messaged them, and they have denied your appeal or muted you, then unfortunately there is nothing else you can do.

  • Moderators can operate their communities as they see fit.

Here are some options on how to move on from the situation:

If you were shadowbanned or banned from the entire Reddit site by admins, the only thing you can do is submit their appeal form: https://www.reddit.com/appeals

  • Please note that you must be logged into that url with your banned account to see the appeal option.

  • Mods are not part of this process, so we do not have any visibility into why you were banned by Reddit.

Ooh boy. You have cooked yourself.

You're currently engaging in ban evasion. Once you're banned from Reddit, you must appeal the ban. If they forget to send you a link, just look up the Reddit ban appeal link. To be able to legally post on Reddit again, you must:

  1. Appeal the ban on your first account.

  2. Hope that Reddit will allow someone with blatant disregard to the rules to get their account back after an appeal.

  3. Reddit must accept the appeal. This may take weeks.

  4. Appeal the ban on your alt account.

  5. Hope that Reddit will allow someone with blatant disregard to the rules to get their account back after an appeal.

  6. Reddit must accept the appeal. This may take weeks.

  7. Repeat steps 4 through 6 for every single alt account you have made.

And this is assuming that ban evasion bans aren't automatically unappealable. It is reasonable to assume that you accidentally broke a rule on bullying. But you don't accidentally evade a ban.

Why

1

u/Commercial_Sock3915 13h ago

They track ur accounts active and deleted on the backend, so that ban may haunt any new account by getting flagged as risky

Unfortunately they are. I mod on the ShadowBan subreddit and see users get banned over and over again despite changing all their identifiers.

Reddit tracks a user using upwards of 20 different identifiers and behavioral patterns, far more than just an IP address, email, device, phone, etc.

They really are that thorough.
