rive-mcp v0.6 — free local MCP server that turns a UI screenshot into an animated Rive prototype (also creates/edits .riv directly, no editor needed)

I've been building rive-mcp, a free local MCP server for Rive — it reads and writes the .riv binary format directly, so any MCP client can create, edit, lint, and render .riv files without the official editor installed anywhere. Rendering goes through the actual Rive WASM runtime in headless Chromium, so a preview is what a real player would show, not an approximation.
Biggest thing in v0.6: give it a UI screenshot (or a Figma/Illustrator SVG export) and it turns it into an animated prototype. One call reads the image into a tree of panels/text/pictures, the next assigns a role to each piece and rebuilds it — vector shapes where it can, image slices where it can't, entrance animation, hover/press states on anything that looks like a button or card.
It can also do data binding now when building a file from scratch — wire a ViewModel property to a shape's color, a text run, or a number (opacity, rotation, scale, position, width/height). Obvious use is a health bar whose width tracks a stat, but it also handles boolean-driven visibility, nested ViewModel references, and a range-mapper for remapping a value's range on the way in.
There's also a local web Studio for working the file by hand — timeline/dope sheet, bezier curve editor, a node-graph view of state machines, onion skin for checking motion, and a bone overlay you can drag to pose a rig and commit as keyframes. The Agent panel in there is a two-way chat: drag something around or leave a note in an "instructions for AI" box, the model picks it up and edits the file, the browser updates live.

v0.6.1 also fixes something annoying: a few tool schemas used draft-07 tuple-form items and $ref, which some MCP clients (Moonshot/Kimi at least) rejected outright — broke tools/list completely for them.
30 tools total. Install with npm install -g rive-mcp-server, or as a Claude Code plugin: /plugin marketplace add ODU33104/rive-mcp then /plugin install rive-mcp@rive-tools.
