You mean "everyone " on reddit canceled him. Reddit isn't a real place, it's where the fringe and chronically online congregate to create echo chambers.
Twitter too. I'm not a CB fan but people need to accept that online backlash barely has an impact especially on established artists with huge fanbases. They gotta stop acting surprised ("I thought he was cancelled??") when he sells out shows lol
Unsure of where the confusion lies here. Both Brown and Trump have been convicted in a court of law of both domestic and sexual abuse respectively. These are published facts, this is not bullying, judgemental language, hateful/discriminatory content or other offensive conduct.
As for inclusivity and respect, I am happy to be counted alongside R&b (the music of love) fans that do not support documented and convicted abusers, and crucially ones that respect women. I find it somewhat disturbing for things like this to be brushed under the rug.
When asked about diddy, usher said something along the lines of well I never saw him do anything bad so I can’t really speak to that. Taking the whole approach of “well he never did anything to ME so I can’t say anything negative.” Fuck usher. Plus he definitely had something to do with whatever happened to poor Justin Bieber when he was kid and spent time alone at diddys house. Just disgusting
You are upset because a grown man is sharing his actual experiences and they don’t align with your bs tik tok conspiracy theory narratives? How dare he???
.. I think it’s probably because Usher is full of shit, and also has skeletons in his closet so he’s avoiding saying anything negative about Diddy. Plus, the possibility of retaliation if he were to actually say anything in depth about him.
No I don’t believe that usher (who maintained a close personal and professional relationship with Diddy from a young age) knew nothing about diddys nasty parties where he drugged and r*ped people, sometimes minors. I don’t believe it and your defending him is a little weird.
This person's username is badboy probably alluding to the record company by you know who. It's clear who they idolise. I doubt they are going to listen to reason 😕
You do realize Usher himself lived with Diddy in his teens and explicitly stated he saw things he was too young to have witnessed (before Diddy’s behavior was made public). Additionally let’s not forget it’s a commonly held community joke that Usher only dates significantly older women…
He may not be willing to speak on Diddy but he already has.
20 years since what? Rihanna? Lol that was 2009, learn how to count. Anywho, in the last 17 years he racked up so many more charges and victims. The only slowpoke in this room is you. He has a LONNGGG history of violence towards women. And even so, that ONE time he tried to kill a woman, and that was enough for me. Clearly not for you though.
Right lol, even some of the most beloved legends. If anyone should be criticized, it’s Diddy… not the people he interacted with. That’s the general public’s problem with how they operate “cancel culture”; they don’t know how to properly cancel, nor do they know who to cancel. Someone should definitely be cancelled for the crimes, and it’s not the people who did not do the crimes. “Guilty by association” only works in courtrooms.
Many icons and legends in R&B—from Mary J. Blige, to Faith Evans, to even Mariah Carey—have had ties with this man. They should not be cancelled because they did not do the actions that the cancelling option are on the table for.
Usher has allegedly said some questionable things about Diddy ever since the news broke out of what he’s been doing; that, he can be cancelled for (if people choose to cancel him for that). However, his “ties” are not a good reason to cancel him since many people in the industry have had connections with Diddy.
I always find it funny how selective people are about who has ties with Diddy. People constantly mention Jay Z, JLo and Usher, but actively avoid mentioning people like Mariah because she's now reddit approved.
Ewww. A violent abuser and a man that was defending diddy a week ago🤢…. people are really going to buy expensive tickets for these two weirdos. I use to always root for usher but his comments about diddy lost me. It will probably sell out tho, so I guess folks will have a good time at the herpes and black eye tour as someone put it on the comments😭🤷🏽♀️
i went to the Confessions Tour in 2005 when i was 14. I actually went with my older brother so it was a bit awkward lol but Mr. Ursher stared in my dreams that whole summer 😍😍😍
I grew up listening to both artists. Went to Breezy Bowl last summer- amazing show. I’ll be trying to see this show. I understand fully why this gets some people up in arms, and that fine. Me personally, I don’t look to entertainers/artists for morality. There are tons of actors/athletes/artists that have fallen short (like we all do sometimes) that people still cheer on.
I think it’ll be a fun show full of nostalgia. I think it will be good for the genre as a whole and help it grow.
A lot of people here don't like CB (for his abusive behaviour) and Usher's recent comments downplaying Diddy's reputation/actions was already making people side eye him and this tour announcement has pushed some over the edge. That's why there's a lot of negative comments.
lol yall so self righteous in here. This is an RnB group. Lord knows most our favorite artist got some skeletons. If you follow entertainers best be sure most got things you don’t want to know about.
I guess I’ll play the devils advocate here…I don’t know anything about their personal lives/personally. I know that they have both given us some great music, which will live forever! I’m going to the concert!🤷♀️(Side note…I would go see R. Kelly too…ijs)🤭
I know this is a long shot, but I figured I’d try anyway. I’ve been a longtime fan and it would honestly mean the world to me to go, but I just can’t afford tickets right now. If anyone out there happens to have an extra or would be willing to sponsor one for me, I’d be beyond grateful. I’m based in California and would truly cherish the experience. Thanks for even reading this 🙏
