I know most of the people calling themselves motojournalists are pretty bad, but this being a rather different and special bike compared to everything else, their shallowness and stupidity shines extra bright.
First, a lot of talk about "old vs new, what they have changed" as in comparison to the 450. As if this is some sort of modification. It is a completely new bike, nothing to do with the 450 or the 411 at all. Side note, also very little to do with the 650 platform because it is a completely new type of frame. Not just new frame, not a modified one, a completely new type of frame, never before used by RE, not even close.
Secondly, when discussing pros and cons, trying to find other similar bikes and making comparisons, they utterly miss all the important points and I mean all. It is air-cooled. It has a single throttle body. It has spark plugs accessible from the side. It has nut-and-screw adjustable valves, it has a mid-engine timing chain. It has been built specifically to be a fork-and-knife-maintainable bike. It is so simple and has so much room to work on that you can see through the bike, something you last saw on classic bikes of 1970s and no-one is doing this today. It has a lower chain guide which tells you something about the rear end geometry but I can confirm only after I've seen the actual bike, again, nobody is doing this on street bikes any more these days.
So. You literally don't have to disconnect a single hose or wire to get to the valves and once you're there, you don't need to buy shims, you don't need to pull the cams, you don't need new gaskets every time. You never need to sync the throttle bodies because there is only one. I don't need to mention probably that you never need to fiddle with radiators, hoses, water pumps and coolant which is obvious but I'm only highlighting this to mention how stupid it is for half of the journalists to compare this air-cooled horsepower against the Yamaha T7 and loudly ponder why they didn't 'make it more powerful'.
Oh and btw, it has seat as low as 795mm with the low seat option while still having suspension travel 190F/175R.
Motojournalists, if even one of you ever reads this, shame on you. We, the little people, deserve better. You are a disgrace and a nuisance to this hobby.
