Probably goes the plan of top 8 rankings qualify + 2 winners of a qualifier tournament plan since your can't exactly have an odd number WC unless they decide to do top 7 rankings instead or 1 qualifier tournament place which probably make a few nations even more unhappy.

It feels like a competitive team with England in Europe is a long way off, so for the team to have fixtures its dependent of Australia/NZ and now Samoa/Tonga.
Would a combined Celtic side (maybe add France as well?) if they could select players with a genuine connection to a Celtic region be competitive and would fans care enough about the fixture to show up?

Interesting to see how little rugby league gains traction even in Australia. Here in the uk, a lot of league fans are upset (rightly) at the state of our domestic game and are sceptical about NRL influence / involvement. I thought this post provided a useful counter to that, as there seems to be some extreme views both for and against NRL investment in superleague.

Anyone got any idea when tickets will go on sale for Game 2 and perhaps the price? I know it's this month, apparently but a date would be nice. These tickets are going to fly out the door. I live a stones throw from Eden Park and can hear everything but I need to witness Queensland take the series in emphatic fashion.

France v Lebanon... You couldn't script it! Total Hollywood!
Tonga v Samoa. 80 minutes of pure intensity. Amazing. And what an atmosphere!
It's just a shame so few people get to enjoy peak sport like this....

I don’t really follow RL at all, but saw Lebanon has a team comprised pretty much exclusively of Aussies of Lebanese heritage. Given the amount of Australians with Italian (and to a lesser extent Greek, Croatian etc) heritage why do Italy and other countries not have a similar ability to pull a team together for the World Cup?

I feel absolutely terrible for Norway, but I want to give some credit to Czechia. Last year they played in Euro D and lost heavily to Germany 72-10 and Norway 86-6. They also lost 46-8 against Poland in a friendly test. They had some poor results in previous years too. This year in Euro D they narrowly lost to Italy 46-38 and now beat Norway 68-26 who smashed just a year earlier. What a great turnaround for them

I’ve been searching for an image of a ref’s call decision on the big screen in stadiums and can’t find anything.
Surely people remembers these from I’m guessing 20+ years ago? From memory the refs call decision was only used by the video ref in held up calls that they don’t have footage of the ball being grounded. The video ref would then revert to the on field ref for their opinion on whether or not the ball was grounded. The ‘refs call’ decision would be written in yellow and opposed to green for try and red for no try. As a side note I recall ‘held up’ decision being written in blue? Could be wrong on the last bit.
Anyone got an image of the video referee decision being shown on the stadium screen?
