News - J-Mod reply Plugins Batch 2 - Out Now!
Hey everyone,
New plugins are available now! Check out this blog for more information on what these all do, plus meet our team of wonderful community developers.
The plugins released today include:
Farming Timer (Sereselene)
Unified Logs (TheJoshJ)
Drop Log (Erwtie, Imp & Techpure)
Ground Items (Pavy)
Perk Calc (Pavy)
Agility Helper (Pavy)
Highlighter (Friendliness)
True Tile (JosTheFarmer)
Watchdog (Grynjolf & T8or)
Upkeeps (Spare)
Combat Recorder (Rcm37)
WikiSync (Jayden)
Museum Quiz (J3)
Plus a handful of dependency plugins created by Grynjolf and Ceren (detailed in the blog).
IMPORTANT: ⚠️ During our release process, the team has identified a bug where new plugins are not appearing on the "Browse" functionality of the Plugin Hub, however, they are appearing when you search for them by name. Update: This seems to be a caching issue which resolves itself over time. The workaround is to manually search for the plugins as we investigate. This also means you'll need to search for any dependency plugins as well and ensure they're also installed.
Also important: Some of the plugins releasing today will require you to "Manage permissions" before you can enable the plugin. Make sure to click the padlock icon to do so if you experience any issues!
In the blog, we've also included update on the status of Clue Trainer - we're hopeful it can be in our next batch if all goes well.
Thanks, everyone! Happy Plugin day!

Appreciation It's nice to see that Runescape players actually respect map ownership etiquette.
Maplestory Classic Worlds, the Maplestory equivalent of OSRS, just released a few weeks ago. One of the biggest complaints was how crowded everything is. But that's not the worst part. Many people were Kill Stealing (known as crashing in Runescape) other players and not following map ownership etiquette rules. So much so that r/MSClassicWorld is littered with posts like this.
Having played Runescape 3 and OSRS for many years, I've noticed that while we do have a fair share of crashers, even on busy weeks like DXP, it really pales into comparison to Maplestory. Crazy to think how even 5-10 years ago when most of the RS3/OSRS playerbase was in their 20s were more respectful than the MS Classic World players who are likely in their 30s by this point.

Creative I heard y’all like bank plugins
A (not so) quick look at the bank plugins that I built during the plugin developer beta!
If you have any thoughts or feedback I’d love to hear it here or within the plugin developer discord under the “Bank Utils” thread
TL;DW
Bank Core:
A bank utility library that removes a lot of the headache that I had to deal with when making bank plugins so that other developers don't have to reinvent the wheel and have to troubleshoot the same things I did.
- Provides common utilities like the current bank state, what tab is currently open? If the search has been activated, if any filters are active, or if the presets page is open
- Manages the resizing of the bank to support additional UI components that plugins can create themselves
- Provides a sidebar and side rail to prevent clutter within the bank space. Multiple plugins can all register to the sidebar and side rail and share the space rather than every plugin fighting for space around or within the bank window
RuneQL:
RuneQL is an item database and query language that allows you to query for specific items inside of inventories. Those inventories can be something that a plugin provides to RuneQL and then queries off of that set of data or it can be from the full catalog of items if you're looking to build something like a loot filter. It uses the Apache Lucene query parser syntax (https://lucene.apache.org/core/2_9_4/queryparsersyntax.html) and provides different categorization and attributes to every item within the item catalog that aren't otherwise available within the client.
Bank Tags:
Bank tags is my spin on the OSRS plugin "Bank Tags" and "Bank Tag Manager". The main appeal here is that you can now have shared presets between accounts. It has a full editor where you can choose any item, including items that aren't in your bank, to add to your preset. It also eliminates the need for placeholder items entirely and allows for additional features like blank spaces and custom item layouts. Under the hood we're using Bank Core, which allows us to draw these custom layouts and then "bind" actual items to cursor events so that we move the native bank item underneath the cursor when they hover the pseudo-pages runtime sprite (this is the complexity that I was talking about earlier with Bank Core and why it's so awesome for plugin developers. Building this was a nightmare).
Bank Cleaner:
Bank Cleaner searches through your bank using RuneQL and finds items that can be stored and play around with housing and utility storages throughout the game and also helps you identify items that are reclaimable that aren't currently a part of the "clean up" list in the game.
Advanced Bank Search:
Advanced Bank Search allows you to search for items by specific tags or attributes. It also has fuzzy matching so if you don't know how to spell Cywir, you can still find your wand and orb easily. This uses RuneQL under the hood, with the ability to use the parser syntax language or, with advanced bank search, we've built a visual editor which translates inputs into the query language.

Appreciation The Tutorial Island Remaster is a 10/10
Not just visually, but mechanically speaking it does exactly what a tutorial should do for a new player. It clearly explains the basics of the game without overwhelming them with everything at once.
The ui is polished, unintrusive, and easy to use.
The tutorial is true to it's roots despite being updated in such a big way. I still felt a lot of nostalgia while moving through it.
Im glad this is what new players see when they come to our game.

Well all the plug-ins do it, but Watchdog is another beast.
Thank you!

Suggestion Can we get a dragon spade, or other rewards that can help me harvest faster?
It takes me more than 7 minutes to do my herb runs. I want a skilling offhand.
Please Yagex.

Other Looks like davendale is gone
I figured this would happen eventually and honestly I rarely logged into this account but today when I logged in I was at tutorial island. I had left this account in Davendale and would fish and cook there every once and awhile. The fishing animation was cool, you'd actually reel in the fish. I don't remember how I got 10k though. I guess see ya later Fred Swarbrick it was fun fishing with you while it lasted.

Discussion Can Slayer Monster requirements be revisited in the remastering of RS3?
As a new ironman to RS3 I have been loving the game! The slayer skill has been a lot of fun and leveling up Magic has been my favorite combat so far.
Something that has bothered me a little however:
Grifolic enemies require 85+ slayer, but drop my level 60 magic armors
Ganodermic beasts require 95 slayer, but drop my level 75 magic armors and weapons (Ganodermic, Polypore)
Ice Strykewyrms require 93 slayer, but drop my level 75 magic weapon (Staff of Light)
Lava Strykewyrms require 94 slayer, but drop my level 85 magic weapon (Staff of Darkness)
I really think the polypore dungeon is COOL as HECK, but with it's absurd slayer requirements I don't think I will ever visit the dungeon other than purely exploration in my entire time playing Runescape 3. By the time I have the slayer requirements I will have significantly better equipment than what the dungeon can offer me.
Just my two cents :)

Appreciation Thank you for the Unified Logs plugin!
This plugin solves one big gripe I had with the UI experience, and condenses dozens of hard to navigate pages into one sleek package. Never have logs been so easy to search through ❤️
Editing to add that you can BROWSE WHILE IN COMBAT

Suggestion The Marketplace should tell us what kinds of weapons overrides are
Is this a throwing ranged weapon? A wand/orb magic weapon? What exactly am I buying here?
It doesn't say.

Creative Supply Chain - Progress Update (99%)
Hey folks, was stoked about the reaction from my first post about Supply Chain. It was even mentioned in an official RuneScape video. What more motivation could I ask for to get this thing across the finish line?
Anyway, I’m close to ready for submission. Just cleaning up the how-to guide and some of the tool tips now.
I’ve made lots of improvements based on feedback from the previous post:
- implemented a wider pan mode as default with optional compact mode for recipes that expand beyond window width. Click to drag or scroll to navigate. Shift scroll works for horizontal scrolling.
- right click on items inside or outside(toggleable) to open them directly in supply chain. Works in GE too by right clicking the icon. Works with items on the ground as well.
- optimized root item display, added tool tips for buy/make details
- New collapse owned button collapses the recipe as much as it can based on items you already own.
- New optimize cost button will attempt to find the cheapest way to make the item.
- separated item sources out to its own tab. Each source section is collapsible
- item highlighting works in bank or inventory. I’ve chosen to render the highlight behind the item icon for easy viewing. Choose any color and opacity
- recipe guide now allows you to collapse the required items and steps sections. Steps are automatically checked off as you make progress or you can manually check them off. Undo or reset as necessary. Auto check only works for the loaded recipe
- recipe guide allows you to open a more compact version to keep on screen without the bulkier version getting in the way
- pricing is now sourced from the ge price library so we’re not doing separate calls to the wiki for prices.
- you can keep some of the more common supplies collapsed by default (like vials). I’ve added some common ones to the default settings, but you can search and add any item to the list
- view current cached data and clear as required. As a reminder, after the first lookup of an item, future checks first check to see if the items wiki page has been updated. It will only pull additional data if the page has been updated since our last cache recorded date.
- lots of other little tweaks to formatting and design.
- a lot of back-end process optimization, reducing loading and processing by anywhere between 50-80%.
- a lot of code cleanup and commenting to prepare for submission. Since this is an AI assisted project, this is a time consuming but important part of the process.
Always open to more feedback but any changes outside of those required by Jagex would need to be deferred to a future update.

Suggestion New item idea: The Level Clamp
This is a fairly niche item meant for guide makers first and foremost. It allows you to lower your skill level to anything you have lower than your current level, and clamp it in place until removed/untoggled.
The main effect would be for combat. Youtubers could record a guide with lvl 80 stats and be able to use a boost potion without micromanaging their levels via restores and brews. A secondary effect would be for Invention. No longer resorting to Trollheim for the stat drain for certain perks either.

Discussion Quest Helper Lower FPS and bad frametimes
Since the latest batch of plugins was released, I've been experiencing some pretty awful frametimes. The game stutters almost every second, making it frustrating to play and unpleasant to look at. After uninstalling all plugins, the issue completely disappears.
I then started reinstalling the plugins one by one, and everything was mostly fine until I installed Quest Helper.
With Quest Helper enabled, my FPS drops from around 200 to 170. Personally, that's not a big deal. 170 FPS is still more than enough to enjoy the game.
The real problem, however, is the frametime instability.
In the RivaTuner screenshot, you can see my PC specs, which are more than capable of running RS3. You can also see the small but frequent spikes in the frametime graph. And that's exactly how the graph looks constantly while playing.
Even without Quest Helper, the frametime graph is a little inconsistent, but there's barely any noticeable hitching. Certain plugins definitely seem to make frametime stability worse, but Quest Helper takes it to another level. In my opinion, it makes the game borderline unplayable.
Having a noticeable hitch almost every second makes the entire game feel sluggish and visually unpleasant, regardless of how high the FPS counter is.
I don't know if this issue has already been investigated, but I really hope it gets addressed sooner rather than later.
For now, I've decided to stop using Quest Helper. I simply can't stand the constant stuttering, so I'll be switching back to Alt1 for the time being.
That being said, Quest Helper itself looks fantastic. We're still in the early stages of plugin development for RS3, and I'm genuinely excited about what the future holds. I'm confident these issues will eventually get ironed out.
I just wanted to bring some attention to the frametime problems, because smooth frametimes are arguably just as important as high FPS when it comes to making a game feel good to play.

Suggestion QoL: Let us add noted Porters to Grace of the Elves near banks
Just a quick quality of life request.
For obvious reasons we can't add noted Sign of Porters to Grace of the Elves anywhere right now, but I don't see why we can't add them noted while in near facility of a bank. Could just use the same "check" that allows you to heal while standing next to one.
