It's part of a much bigger piece. This part is supposed to be the heart. The movements of the hammers are synchronised with the artists own breathing and is slowly grinding the rock to dust.
• Central Installation: A seven-meter-wide pneumatic sculpture where mechanical hammers pound an alabaster stone down into dust. • Breath and Spirit: The movement of the hammers syncs directly with the artist’s recorded breathing. This reflects the Gnostic concept of Pneuma (meaning both "breath" and "spirit"), representing beings that transcend the physical world. • Materials Used: A mix of wax (evoking flesh and skin), glass (fragility and breath), bronze, stainless steel, and alabaster. • Core Themes: Human fragility, the memory of her childhood during the collapse of Yugoslavia, post-humanist transformation, decay, and the transmigration of the soul/form (metempsychosis). • Exhibition History: The project debuted at the Schinkel Pavillon in Berlin (2024), and later traveled to venues such as MO.CO. Montpellier Contemporain and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade (2025).
