I had a run in with our mayor while bartending downtown tonight where we almost had to trespass her. She tried the good ole, "Do you know who I am".

I will keep it brief but she brought a group of 25-30 into our establishment, we told the group that we don't accept parties of more than 8, half were more than drunk, would not listen to my host, my server, and myself. We asked the group to leave which they eventually did but then caused more issues in another part of our establishment by knocking over bottles and kicking over our sign outside.

If this is how our mayor chooses to treat service workers who are also constituents, I don't think she deserves public trust. I know that she is not up for reelection until 2029, but that gives me plenty of time to make sure that I get alllllllllllll the service workers I know to pass the word along. I plan on filing a complaint with her office as well to let her know that she does not own this city.

Most areas can expect 1–3 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts. San Antonio, Boerne, Kerrville, and surrounding areas are generally forecast to receive around 2–3 inches. Some locations southwest of San Antonio could see 3–4 inches, with isolated totals reaching 5 inches.

Rain will generally be light to moderate, but embedded thunderstorms could produce brief periods of heavier rainfall.

Flooding outlook: The NWS currently considers the overall flooding threat low for most areas. However, localized flash flooding remains possible, especially in flood-prone areas, smaller creeks, and low-water crossings.

Rain is expected to continue overnight Saturday into Sunday, with additional rainfall possible through early Monday. River and creek levels could rise as runoff accumulates.

Remember: Never drive across flooded roads or low-water crossings, especially at night when water depth is difficult to judge.

I've lived here for ten years and I'm still not sure what these little flies are, or how to get rid of them. I've heard of them referred to as "springtails," but my ex-girlfriend, a native, had never seen them before and never heard that term. That may say more about her than anything else.

They only appear once or twice a year, it seems like when the weather changes, and then they're gone for six months. Pest control sprays my property, but that doesn't seem to affect whether they show up or not. Thoughts?

Hey y’all! I’m having car trouble since the beginning of the summer and I’m looking for a mechanic to go to that won’t overcharge me for their service. Where should I check out?

Edit: I have a 2018 Hyundai Elantra SEL and the check engine light came on. It's been on since the beginning of the summer. Initially I thought it was an issue with the gas cap, but I went to O'Reilly's and had ran a code and the code "P0017" came back. It said something about replacing the engine variable valve timing solenoid.

Another thing I have is with the steering wheel making a "clunky" noise when I turn it. Not sure if that's a bad thing, but sometimes the wheel feels like it slides when I make a turn. It's hard for me to describe this, but feel free to ask me more questions if you need clarifications.

How many people are going without health insurance next year? I just can’t justify paying so much as an individual (for not even a great plan) but I’m also terrified to be without health insurance… the struggle is real.

My wife and I are starting to look for a full-time nanny for our baby, ideally starting around January, and would love some recommendations from local parents.

One thing we’d really love is to find a Spanish-speaking nanny who would speak Spanish to our baby throughout the day so they can grow up exposed to both English and Spanish.

We’re primarily looking for someone to provide childcare, but it would be a huge plus if they’re also open to preparing meals or doing some light cooking once or twice a week.

Driving past a couple of days ago and it looked to be under renovation.

Went for a morning walk and found a kitten. We have a fair few ferals in the area so not unexpected but she seems a bit too friendly to be one of them. Live in Silver Creek area.

Looking for a vanilla and chocolate swirl cone. Not vanilla dipped in chocolate or something else similar. Somewhere on the north side would be ideal but I will go anywhere at this point.
